I am thinking of changing my mystic gargoyle  into tamer/Thunter  any advice on builds assuming 100 in remove trap lock picking and cart how can i maximize the 420 points left over i can come up with about 45 points in taming via ring/brac/tali and want to be at 110 both taming and lore but cant wrap my head around how to fit vet and some magic in there too !

Off the top of my head...…..
100 Remove Trap
100 Lockpicking
100 Cartography
110 Taming
110 Lore
-----
520 Total so far so 200 Points left

Option A:
100 Veterinary
100 Magery (Gate will fizzle once in awhile, should be 100% with Invisibility)

Option B:
120 Veterinary
80 Magery (Cast Gate from Scrolls, cast Invisi as needed)

There are a bunch of different ways you could do what you're looking for, just depends on what exactly you want the end template to be, and what kind of gear you have. You're build might also change as you get different +skill items.

Since you're planning on 100 in Cart, LP, & RT, you don't need magic for anything with the T-chests. I'm guessing you want Magery to Gate your pets about and cast Invisibility. With the right gear you could probably run 120 Taming and Lore, which might be better for a tamer (depending on how the natural vs. +skill mechanic works for Taming and Lore) and still be able to get 120 Vet/Magery.

Anyway, that's off the top of my head. There is another thread here also discussing tamer/t-hunter builds. Might be of help to you.

@Arroth_Thaiel (minor point)
Concerning:
80 Magery (Cast Gate from Scrolls, cast Invisi as needed)
While I agree 80 would be very handy, I'll just note that with a Runic Atlas, scrolls would be unnecessary in easily casting Gate with 80 skill.  Using Gate from within the Atlas itself has the effect of using a Gate scroll.  I.e., the effect is as if one's magery were 20 higher.  (For some reason, this does not apply to Recall, however.)  My assumption is that the devs wanted to make it slightly easier for mid-range mages to begin building Compassion by gating NPCs looking for escort.

If you want to fit vet and magic in you can forgo the remove trap skill. My tamer t-hunter has:

120 tame
120 lore
100 mage
100 eval
80 vet
100 lock
100 cartog

if you activate remove trap and stand 16 spaces from chest your pet will only have to fight a few guardians and you can heal yourself the whole time, cast heal on the pet as needed. You can solo any map like that. The 100 mage and eval aren’t even necessary but I like being able to do some damage if I need to.

The build I'm working on is something like this

Magery 100  +10 ring/+10 Bracelet. may only go up to 100 here and save the jewelry space for FC & FCR. I also may just use a spell book with +15 Magery

Evaluate Intelligence: my plan is to go 90 and use jewelry to 120

Meditation: my plan is to go 90 and use jewelry to 120

Animal Taming: 120 real.

Animal Lore: 120 real.

Veterinary: 100. I can swap jewelry if I need to res pet

Miscellaneous: I plan to run back and forth to use soul stones to change out Carto, Lockpicking, and remove trap.

 Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Magery for non mages with no skill at all.  Crystaline ring 20. Drogens spell book 20, bulwark shield 5, bracelet with 20 magery.  Add them all up that’s 65 magery skill points.  If you have been playing for awhile chances are you have all or most of those items somewhere.  That’s 65 magery skill points you can put on another skill.  I have these in an equip macro now on my non mage.  Debating right now if I want to add maybe 20 or 30 actual skill to get closer to 100 skill.  He’s not a fighter.  Just something to think about when you set up your template.

ps: know most items are spelled incorrectly.

Taming 120 (+20 on jewels)
Lore, Vet 120 (+30 on jewels)
cartograph 100
remove trap 100
magery 85
eval intel 100
rest in Meditation

I don't do Hoard or Trove on this character
so I cast the Unlock spell
and I equip my +15 magery book (shadowguard book) when I want to open Cache maps

I don't have to have 100 real taming but I want to be able to pop a pet from a statue form

My Tamer T hunter on Sonoma.  I save my magery to heal the pet if I cannot get close.  I am able to do all levels of maps.

This Mare can toss boulders, put them to sleep, and hit hard with armor ignore or dragon Breath.
