Does anyone know why this yellow/gold fishing pole appeared in my pack after using a salvage hook?

I have no idea why this yellow / gold fishing pole appeared in my pack.

I closed the bag, it was still there upon reopening. I appear to be able to move it around as I please. It even survived logging out and logging back in. It's still there.

Why did this appear in my pack during a salvage hook toss? Is it a rare? A glitch? Is it worth anything?

Congratulations. Some of us spent a fortune trying to get that pole when that quest was first put in game.

The quest is for entry to the Ararat but the gold fishing pole is an 'easter egg', something like the gold shovel or pick from Covetous 1 headless miners.
