We are still in the pre-rollout phase, keep an eye on UO.com for the full announcement.  What shard are you on?

Well of course, the gargoyle is reasonably disturbed at how trash the reward item is for his people.

@Kyronix I was doing the new quest on Legends shard.. The section in Trinsic at the Toyshop has a small glitch.. the word "work" does not trigger the next line in the conversation with Hans. I was able to type "dogs" and that word trigger the next line. Thanks
#5
@Kyronix Just another glitch.. Blackthorn's Castle Dog Kennel section. The word "Tokuno" also does not trigger the next line in the conversation with Lord Blackthorn.  "Yukio" triggers the Tokuno Emissary but not the rest of Lord Blackthorn's conversation.
#6
@Kyronix i tried it on atlantic
#7
You guys are in such a hurry! Why don't we let them get it all set up first :/

Besides, if you want something to do, take the quest at Yukio's Shop...over and over again ;)

On a side note? I would really like to have the Alien *bats eyes*

Hey, I work in Software Support and QA is part of my job so it just a habit. Beside this my day off so I trying to get in a quest or two before work tomorrow. Sorry I am jumping ahead of the Dev, I saw it looked ready and took the opportunity.
#9
You can do that one quest over and over to get all the rewards for that one...there are 8 that we know of..maybe more!
#10
So the official post has been made on uo.com so everyone should be able to complete all parts.

Yay thanks team! 🙂
#11
@Kyronix Would you confirm whether or not the Action Figure and Tin of Trinkets will be used for anything to come? Or are they just deco rewards for this event?

well the map proved useful so maybe so ?
#13
Don't do it! Make people sweat it out and do the work to get the items.

Prepare for the future, it's only 150k doubloons just go get it!

I ALSO like the fact that you sorta took someone's suggestion of having a full map area to fight in...instead of inside a dungeon we have all three tokuno islands to fight on and get cool items so that's very cool.

#14
I'm sorry, but Zeamina's agent insisted on an NDA.

My play time is limited, so it's nice to know if I can just focus on obtaining one or if my play time can be spent elsewhere.
#16
Hey Max, you can get the trinkets without doing anything just click on them...if you want a figurine on Origin let me know 🙂
#17
Why did it have to include yomotsu warriors? They reflect magic attacks.
#18
I may have last quest first - i gave the Hook map to BUCs gargoyle and got the action figure and co-ords... Where do i really begin quest and where is the tin of trinkets?

Go to the coords.
#20
I'm there, Pawain, Ameoba Island  - what do I say to Z? I see a blank Hook map and i tried to quest toggle action figure, naught happens
#21
If you read the announcement on uo.com it tells you to look at the *new* article at the town cryer. That's the first step.

Also thanks to Pawain, say *greetings*...I was saying Hi, Hello...Hail....*sighs*

#22
Yup. Always start with greetings. You will get the whole conversation .
#23
Need 38 Kappas to complete my first run-through, sure is a lot of critters to kill! I have a guilldmate  who's on his 10th Yukio run but has had bad luck - no FCR3 125 Luck earrings yet. It's going to be terrible on the weekend on ATL, I'll finish this run and then go do it on Legends.
#24
You can't find others on Atlantic to
Do the sleeping dragon spawn. Sad.

That's because there are no FCR3 125 Luck earrings! hehe

Now that I have soloed it twice I must say that it is a bit grindy.  I would drop the Kappa and Deathwatch Beetles to 25 and everything else by 5.  To compensate I would increase the yamandon by 1.

It helps during peak hour if the respawn rate can be improved. They are easy and fast to kill. So far the bottleneck is 1) Kappa and sometimes 2) beetles.
#28
Someone mentioned earlier in this thread that they found a place where scores of kappas and beetles spawn at once.

I'm too lazy to look it up tho.

Its the swamp area at south Himare and Kappa lake... but once we get 2 warriors there, they are gone in a few minutes. Normally I recall in, oops someone is already here, I recall to other places to fight other mobs instead of waiting and do nothing.

#30
The sleeping Dragon Spawn.  Round 2. Then lions next.  We are doing it during normal play times.
#31
We just did it got all my ones of those 3.  Do thunderstorm and run around.  As others kill them you will hear dings of stuff you damaged.

Some things you just need about 1/8 damage to get credit.  So you can share the kills.

Easiest is the Elder and Priest that spawn together. 2 Players can get those very quickly.
Could do same with warriors but my pets eats them fast.

Always noted the spawn is always an option even during TOT, and I would love to keep and maintain the tier. But somehow its not for everybody (or shard).
#33
We have a guy that starts that or Turtle spawn quite often.  We do them a lot.

Can we hire him 😂
#35
I used 2 tamers on ATL and finished quest this morn (2 days) - - Kappas were my final kills on both.  The first Tamer got the earrings :-) and the second one got dissected animal corpse. I will quit while I'm ahead and return to the high seas - much less grind there!

"I am curious as to why Yukio's Abacus is not shard bound, but the other rewards are (except earrings)"
#39
Has anyone got double of any item yet? Curious cause i got silly, forgot to insure, got killed and lost my desiccation kit.
#40
I have gotten a few doubles.
#41
ok cool, at least i know that i can possibly with the luck of the RNG get another kit. Thank you

#42

I have received 4 Broken power crystals.  Doing this once a day will yield many extras even if you stop when the next event starts.
#43
It's going to accumulate quickly... it would be nice if the decors have clean up points. I am getting alot of the skinned meat and can't bbq or use them anyway.

@Kyronix
#44
it takes me quite a while to run this quest. Any suggestion on how to speed it up or is just a grind festival.  i just started my 4th run.
#45
What kind of character are you using? I've done it a bunch of times now on my dragoon, my mage/spellweaving/tamer, and my ABC archer. All of them ranged from about 45 minutes to an hour and 15.
#46

Yeah as Jepeth says it depends on the character, but for any character or quest, we need to find the bottleneck. In most cases if Sleeping Dragon is not on Tier 2, and its peak hour, the bottleneck with be Kappa most of the time, and to a lesser extent beetles and revenant lion. So what I do everytime is have many runes and kill what is available first, during peak hour.

My fastest one round is less than 30minutes or even lesser when Sleeping Dragon is on Tier 2 and you get loads of Kappas and Beetles. Once you clear these 2, the rest are easy. Yomotsu - can always share kill with others because they have higher HPs.
#47
One luckless player is 1/26 on earrings.   Wish them LUCK from the RNG Gods!

SW/Mage/Tamer - BA Cu.  I am wishing I finished my slug up.  Sleeping Dragon seems to hate me, I find a couple of beetles and boat load of hatchlings. Lets not even talk about being stalked by lesser Hiryu.  I have had better luck in the waste for Beetles, just have to keep an eye out for the Witch ;) . Maybe it is time to learn a new template.
#49
I decide to try Sleepy Draggy again.. this time it was dialed back.. no Hiryu and no lions.. still no luck with Beetles. but kappa went down alot faster

Go around the edges and weave around to get beetles. Also use thunderstorm on the beetles others are fighting, both will get credit since TS doesn't kill them in 1 shot.

Indeed, that is a whole lot of improvement to have much more open space to roam around rather then a secluded place....

Although, there still is the "choke" point of the Yomotsu Elders and, to some point, also the Priests... they only spawn at the Mines and the Elders is what, only 1 or maybe 2 spawning at any time and only in a limited, specific location ?

Personally, considering how players, understandably, tend to focus on new content and, thus, struggle to fight for the same spawn, it would be more beneficial if the choice of what to have to kill was done with MoBs that had multiple spawns, and the more the better, thus giving to players multiple options of where to go to get their kills done.....

Having to all have to go, necessarily to 1 place, and there only, just forces players to step onto one's another feets and this is not good, to my viewing.

I'd much more prefer to see WIDE options be given to players as in regards to what to fight, and not use "choke" points which create conflicts among players.

At least, that is how I see it.
#52
@popps
Yomotsu should be easiest as they have higher HP and you can share the kill with others. Just join in any fight, as long as you damage the monsters you get a count when it dies.
#53
And some players struggle with Yamandon, and will be happy if others join in to kill it. Everyone gets a count for it.
#54
@Seth - what template are you using to finish up the quest in 30min?

I am using a sampire.

#56
I like Popps’ idea about choosing the spawn. This would be interesting for a future event. Maybe not choose but you get a random set of creatures to kill. So some might have to kill tons of yomatsu creatures while someone else has to kill a bunch of dragons etc.

While I think my dragoon build does the entire quest faster I've done it more on my SW/Mage/Tamer and generally prefer that build for the experience.

First let me suggest a Chiv/AI Cu only for the Yamandon. The poison is obnoxious for sure but you can stand close enough to keep consume up while still providing a little room if it switches aggro. It's healing also helps in a pinch. Should be able to take it out in just a minute or two.

For the Yomatsus I recommend a Chiv/AI fire steed or other fire damage pet. It's their lowest resist and so you'll chew through them faster. I've been doing it with berserk going for the extra damage. I can generally kill all three mobs necessary in about 20 minutes if I'm quick on the all kill macro.

For Kappas and Beetles I've been using a FWW/PB Naja at the Sleeping Dragon spawn. If the spawn isn't up or I don't want to spend the time advancing it I bounce back and forth between the swamp area at the very south of Homare or a small area up along the coast between the water and the mountains of Homare where a few Kappas and Beetles spawn.

The Wolves are never an issue, they're basically everywhere. Same with the Revenant Lions which hang around where Yamandon spawns on Homare. I'll do these with the Chiv/AI fire steed, too.

None of my pets are very high intensity or full 120s. My Cu is 115 wrestling, everything else is 110 pets.

Clearly you have not done the quest many times. Having one priest and one elder in one spot makes those 20 kills the easiest of the kills. Especially since you just need to do a fraction of the damage get credit. We had four players there one time. We got there at the same time and left at the same time.

Please learn to play UO and come here to give us tips instead of complaining about the quickest part of the quest.

Again, I invite you to LS where we play together and have fun doing it. Where you will hear in chat, doing yammy gate is up!

SW/M

Mu BA Cu - Pre-patch Cu - Chiv, 120 wrestling/120 healing(why did I do this.. still can't get over 110) All the rest of his skills are 100.  I might work on my fire drake.. I think I gave way my good Drake and kept the so-so drake.

He kicks Yamadon butt all over the place.. only died once cause he had Yamadon, 2 rev lions and 2 pain in the backside Ronin.  Blueberry usually kills Yamataus warriors n 2 or 3 hits (priest 3-4). elders (4).  I usually get 3 or more warrior on Blueberry.

I enjoy and prefer my Tamer, I have a thrower but she spends more time dead. I suck at running a pally/swords (borrowed my sister's a lot), I have a Chiv/Bush Archer, I can do well with him except I forget to honor -90% of the time. I might take him thru it and see how he does.

I picture it being balanced in some way. Similar difficulty creatures.

"the earrings have hidden Antique property? the durability loss is that of antique items."
#64
Mine are wearing out pretty quick on my mage tamer.  I do not advise wearing these in the Treasures of event on a melee toon.
#65
Yoshi said:
"the earrings have hidden Antique property? the durability loss is that of antique items."
No it should be brittle, I accidentally worn it for a few days on my Sampire as it didn't swap with my resist earring due to my error. Then now it's 126/255 after grinding several long hours including sleeping dragon. If it's antique, it would drop even faster even on tamer mage.

It still grinds down quickly for a melee.

All armors durability do drop when we do alot of melee, which is why don't envy warrior for those expensive suit. I use all imbued armor for grinding non-boss spawn these days and save the legendary because it's more expensive to wear it down during grinding.

Now I have 4 earrings in total but drop rate is not 1/8, but above 1/13 or 15 and going higher. Speed can vary between 25 to 45 mins per round depending on the spawn. So it's not quick unless someone is lucky.
#66
“Before wearing these, I was regularly doing PvM with non antique morph earrings, chaning champ spawns, and the durability loss was not as much as with these glass earrings"
#67
Hmm then I am not sure but I was comparing to my sdi mystic sw mage who wears antique bracelet for 18 sdi. It was not supposed to do any melee but was attacked often during one of the TO events and I changed it to Prized because the durability drop was significant. It’s based on gut feel that it’s better than antique but whether it’s brittle or not I am not sure then.

It would be nice if they can add proper tags to Jumu, Mask of Khal, and earrings like this so we know it’s nature.
#68
i also think the durability loss of this earrings is higher than usual
#69
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks the earrings behave as if they were labeled antique.
#70
Yoshi said:
"the earrings have hidden Antique property? the durability loss is that of antique items."
Yes, I did noticed that too.... and was much surprised as it does not show the "Antique" property on them...

Yet, they DO wear out exceptionally fast.....

Also, considering the extensive time it takes to get 1 pair of the Yukio's Glass Earrings, it definitively should be possible to use Powder of Fortification on them, to my opinion.
