House sign remains named after whoever placed it no matter what. If you place with a character named Sam that house will remain owned by Sam even if you rename or delete. GMs not even the Devs can change the owned by name. I've tried.
There are only two ways to do it. Demolish and place with whoever you want to own it or transfer it around until you can get it to the character name you want.

@Urge you can also resize it to change the owners name. Yes you can resize a castle to move it.

You can trade the House back and forth between two of you Acconts to have the Owner's name changed.

0) House placed by Toon A of Account 1;
1) Transfer House From Toon A of Account 1 ---> to Toon X of Account 2;
2) Transfer House From Toon X of Account 2 ---> to Toon B of Account 1;

No, a traded house retains the date on which it was placed. However I believe that would not be the case with a resized house.
