How do I use the crafted Oracle?

Got the Ocean sapphires. I craft it and take it to the subserver I want the beast on.

Do I need the bait still?
Does the user of the Oracle need to have fishing if no bait required?
Or can anyone there fish it up?

If the crafted oracle and bait work as the ones from the Monger Quests, you have to be a gm+ fisher, have to have the oracle of the sea and a baited rod both on the fisher. The oracle to find the spot of Charybdis and the bait to have a chance to fish it up.

OK I thought I read the crafted one is not a quest so it does not need bait.

If you go the crafting route for the oracle of the sea/bait you do not need the questing counterparts.

I assumed the bait was the questing counterpart.

That was because someone mentioned that they were told that you still needed to get the bait from the mongers before it would work.

You don't, because you can craft both now. But the requirements for summoning are still the same.
