What is a good substitution for grass tiles?

What is a good substitution for grass tiles? I am interested in adding a grassy look to the roof of my keep. I have no actual grass tiles. I was thinking dyed carpet might be a possible substitute. Am I off base? If not, which carpet and dyes should I use?

I think this blue carpet would work real well.
the tile below the blue one is dyed using a regular dye tub.
the tile on the far right is the same carpet tile but I bought the red one... each of the colors when dyed gives you a different color... so i'd mess around with the dye tub until you get the exact shade you want

and in order to buy the carpet, there is a quest that you must do before you can purchase it at Royal City in the tailor shop (in case others see this and get the idea, but doesn't know)

you can also use green (standard) fishing nets over green carpet pieces, gives a good texture
