An EJ character was able to do the questline (detecting/revealing the hidden trap doors, entering the secret area, getting scribe update) up to the point of the Cryptogropher, where it chimes and gives her the quest message to find the book.
But then it seems to get stuck. She does not get the hidden item message - and I know exactly where the book is cuz I (a vet account) went and found it. (Several times, as it kept moving while we were struggling with this.) The EJ is on the correct phase of the quest, and has made repeated attempts at all the rooms, relogged, etc.
So is this EJ bugged, or can EJ just not do the quest?
