Castle conversion - getting rid of pavers

I need to get rid of every single one before conversion is allowed, correct? I have not played with the customization system since it was released. Currently, it seems the only way for me to remove pavers is to lock one, release it, and then pick it up or let it decay. Simply releasing it (without locking it down first) does not work. Is there an easier way? I have a lot of them, and it's just dreadful.

just double click them and drag them into your backpack.
you could holler in general chat & see if someone could use them.

if you were to double click them and leave the to decay. you wouldn't be able to convert til they are gone (not sure if it would let you, but if it did, they would be in your moving crate)

ah, thank you. Doubleclickingis much easier
