Fighiting Mini-Bosses and Boss melee on default Classic Client... anyone can help ?
popps said:My biggest issue, when having to fight melee the Commanders and the Boss at the new Event, is actually being able to find where to stand near their standing tile with a melee fighter......
I tell you what I do in the CC
I use 4 key macros:
- SelectNext - Hostile
- SelectPrevious - Hostile
- SelectNearest - Hostile
- AttackSelectedTarget

With these keys you can move between the different hostile targets that appear on the screen, if there are none, it will show you that there are none.

Then, in my example, you press F1 until you see the renamed name of the boss, if passing names you go to another one by mistake, press F2 until the name reappears, then press F4 and start attacking.

As a detail, that target that is marked as selected, as you can see in the photo, you will see that some bars appear between the lower and upper part of the target.
If you use Chivalry's Enemy One spell, the name and mark will appear in orange.

But what I want to tell you with this, look for those bars when you can't find the target.
Then you use the first and second of weapon skills, spells, etc...

This way, if you get dismounted by the boss and you want to get on your mount, you won't attack your creature by mistake, nor will you attack any allies, etc...
You will get a 'War on target blocked' message, and if it was your mount, you will get on the mount directly.

I hope it will be of help to you.
popps said:Thanks, that will help, what about my issue of not being able to actually see where the Commander or Boss is, so as to be able to get next to my target to hit it with a melee dexer ?Any suggestion about how to cut all of the spam text on screen ?
The text spam you are referring to can be of two types, one is the one you get from the bottom left corner, which is like in the pictures I shared above, where it says for example, there are no hostile enemies on the screen.
Regarding that one, it doesn't have to come up for a reason.
You get to the area where the enemy is, in my example, you press F1 as many times until the enemy's name appears, then you get some target bars (top and bottom) and his name on a bar with life, then you press F4.
That's when the no leech messages will appear (which is one of the spam you refer to).
The second screen spam is for example for mass poison, but it's the same, you press F1 until the name comes up, and repeat the above process.
Then as shown in the picture above, you just scroll to where the two bars (top and bottom) are that select the enemy.
You set up what I said above and try it, you will see that you get some bars and a life bar with the name of the target.
Here is a graphic example. Screenshot of my full screen play area.

I've put myself unarmed along with all those creatures, I've pressed the SelectNearest - Hostile key and as you can see, out of all of them, the macro selected the target closest to me.
There's no spam in the bottom left because I don't do anything.
The target, as you can see, has two bars, one at the top and one at the bottom (My character is covering it, but it is selected as you can see with white bars).

And in the top left, which is where I have configured where to display the life bar with the name, I see the bar of the target with its life, in this case, a giant rat (This bar can be moved anywhere in the client area, it does not have to be there).

The poisoning text doesn't affect me for the macro, I just press the key and selected the target.
Therefore, no matter what poison spam/etc... or creatures/characters I see on screen, my vision is focused on where the top and bottom bars are on the target. That is where you have to go.
__Psycoder said:@ misHats off buddy! That was a very good tutorial. If this forum has tutorials section I think this should go there.
Thank you 🙂
There is no section with the name 'Tutorials', but in the 'Skills and Stats' section there are guides/tutorials.

popps said:The difficulties I am having to find where to stand next to the target in this Event might be better explained by the following screenshot...Mind you, this was less crowded then usual... I have a hard time being able to see a thing with all the characters, the text spam...When fighting melee, one needs to haver the character stay right by the target, the very next tile or, there will be no hitting... but if I cannot see where the target is, how can I stay next to it ?Is there a way, with the Default Classic Client, to avoid all the text spam by the target, and possibly have the target "shine out" as compared to all players' characters and summons or pets ?
From the image you show, that bar is taken manually (apparently), it is not shown using as I explained in my previous message. Try it as I said, you will see that it is better and you will get two bars, one above and one below the criature.
What you can do is use Enemy One and you will see it orange on the target.
As for removing all the text spam, I don't know about that.
