While they’re at it, no guild can fight in Ocllo VvV town on Atlantic for about a year now,
the whole sub server is still really laggy for every single player. Too laggy to play on so we have to skip it.
Your first image is not packet loss. Those servers are ICMP blocking.
Your second image I'm guessing shows illegal 3rd party clients, well done. Again 0 packet loss.
Your 3rd image is a bandwidth test, not a ping test, and is pretty irrelevant.
UO can run on a sega genesis so that's an odd/unnecessary flex 'very high end computer'.
So no idea where you are getting this idea of packet loss from? Learn networking.
I would try passing this info to your ISP, they do normally investigate.
Yeah there were 70+ other people running around fine in yew tonight all running nefarious activities no problems reported.
You tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
I think someone had this before and think it was a problem with their main “special” file
the one with all the “stuff” that fixes things
I swear i had this same issue years ago and it turned out to be a corrupt registry file.
The strongest possibility that I can see is that there's a problem with your route to the server, your end is fine, the shard is fine - otherwise everyone would have the problem, it's somewhere in between that the problem lies
I vividly recall a time years ago when EA were using Suddenlink for routing, UK was cut off from Europa for 8 hours because of one of their routers in Southampton, which I eventually persuaded my isp to trace and locate. The shard was fine, players connecting to it from USA and Mainland Europe were fine, so the Devs of the time were unaware of any problem. Took a while to convince my isp that I knew what I was talking about so they investigated the problem, but it did get solved in the end - though I think Suddenlink lost the contract shortly after.
Troll posts have been removed. HeavySmoker obviously has an issue in addition to the reported shard instability but attacking each other isn't going to fix it. please try to be helpful and constructive, if trolling persists I will lock this
thread.
Doesn't UO use AWS servers, I think they have robot hamsters, they do not use some mom and pop server where you call Grandma to reboot the server.
The first place to start is:
run full file check
your router, get an upgraded one from your provider.
still problems, ask the provider why you cant connect.
get a new provider
No but the reason I know it MAY be the host of the server is because if you read my previous posts I have dealt with a large playerbase with the same issues that happened on the freeshard I was ADMIN on. We had a problem with our host, not everyone was effected only certain people in certain locations that used certain ROUTES. We have had issues with the server crashing for 2-3 months now, to rule it out completely is just silly.
So your solution is to tell anyone to "master a topic" instead of asking a question. That makes sense, you provided no value other than "Learn networking", very interesting concept, but thank you for the advice.
He should open all the normal things he runs and then open Task Manager to see if his CPU usage or memory is slowing him down.
With all the things I have open while playing UO, I would not be able to use a 1990s game console to play UO comfortably.
Perhaps it would help to clarify that when a server is ICMP blocked it will not reply to ping requests. Request timed out does not mean packets are lost, it means the server is passing on information packets but is ignoring your ping request.
Have contacted provider again, no issues with hardware, no issues that they can find on their end "they tried opening my NAT (whatever that does) that did not help, they claim it is also something on the servers end. Have reinstalled every aspect of the game, updated all drivers, tried things like "exitlag" that was recommended (does not work) as I do not have any "lag", I believe I have played ultima online enough in my life to understand the difference between "Lag/Rubberband lag/Packetloss"... I can still type, drink potions, do anything else, but my character will not move and just locks up. Have tried different clients/fresh installs no macros no profiles, all with the same outcome, have tried different SERVERS with no issue..
I realize you cant answer this question here, are you a NJ tester ...
The server admin would be Jeff Bezos. Email him.
JeffyB@amazon.com
Damn he bought the UO Servers? Thats a bad dude
With the VPN, depending on your network settings for that, even if you're NOT using the VPN connection, can produce a variety of issues. I was split tunnelling for Halo Infinity to not run through my VPN, but the network settings from the VPN still prevented me from connecting properly to Microsoft's servers. I wonder if you're having a similar issue.
Heavysmoker,
I noticed in your original post you mentioned turning on a VPN. Just for clarity, you don't have a VPN application installed (even if you're not using it)?
Thanks,
Venom
I only came back 3 months ago and moved all my stuff to Atlantic because there is nobody on my home shard Drachenfels. But I will have to cancel the two accounts, because the game is now absolutely unplayable with this route from Europe to Atlantic for the past 2-3 weeks.
double post due to lag lol
There are paid locations that host the games servers, we had them on freeshards but yeah I would almost suspect they were hosted in someones basement and ran completely by a hamster wheel at this point
Resorting to name calling does not fix the problems YOU have. It just gets threads locked. And YOU will still have a crappy connection.
A VPN does not bypass "SERVER HOST", so you might talk about those, while having nothing to do with those. Might as well talk about the Pope and his expedition to the moon.
