She confirmed that the Summer Solstice will be another single day faire style event that will be on a certain day in July and appears will be just on a single shard again. She said there will be 2 time slots (likely an AM & PM slot) that will be a couple hours. Sounded like the next Treasures event won't be until much later this year.

Thanks for the heads-up! Hopefully the day will be posted soon so that peeps can mark their calendars...

The amount of players I've seen quit in the last 3 years since we've gone to ToT/Quest/Spawn rinse and repeat is astonishing. We need new content, an active dev team fixing bugs, doing client updates, QOL changes, banning/disabling 3rd party clients. What we don't need is a game they've been pitching/working on for 5+ years now (originally announced at the 20th, remember) that no one asked for and leeches all the dev time.

@Mesanna the production servers are hemorrhaging players. It's time to give up the new game and focus on the few players we've got left.

There are talks but reports say that it is only talks, nothing substantive yet.  How many people work at BS? I liked the event last year although I did end up getting stuck in line pretty much the entire time and didn’t get to participate in the game I was in line for.

I got stuck in line too but was among the first - and only group - to play that game and we did all get the prize. Fortunately, I had another character on 2nd puter that won two prizes and I was able to fill 2  books. Which deco, Larisa? Lat year or this year? If this year, where is the new deco, please?

I guess you need a guild or something, we do Underwater Boss, Peerless, Shrine Battles, Guild parties (Next one is the 4th) Questing, I think we ran like 9+ characters through the Quest to get the diving suit which was a blast.

I guess to each their own, but there's always something to do in this game.

A lot of red white and Blue deco, so I would speculate the 30th or the 7th.  Hope its not the 7th, Ill be in Cozumel so can't make it. Also out of town the 23rd...

Looks like some rewards will be sea or water theme.  Which I like.  Also want the watermelon.

This year, on Fire Island Origin. I hadn't posted anything yet because I didn't want to spoil the surprise but now that the cat is out of the bag I guess I can talk lol.

One is down the coastline. The only public housing area on the island. Screenshot below. The second was a glitch when they put the lava in somewhere between underworld and the casino on the top area. You had to have had a rune there before to even get to it now.

I have yet to see a rune to the secret spot but i do know there is/was a max storage house spot unless the team deleted it. (doubt it since they can't even fix this stupid ass forum) Supposedly 1 on every shard.

So the corrupted crystal portal sends you to the Ter Mur dungeon entrance not the fire islands entranc. Hope they put a moongate up in luna and brit for newbie players there.

Dungeon Abyss = TerMur Dungeon Underworld = Fire isle.

I don't actually play this game currently, as I've said for the past 6-7 months because as I've also maintained, I want something NEW to do. I play ATL where there are typically enough random people doing things that I don't need a guild. Worst case is I can call out in GenChat to get some help for something like UW.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, so I don't usually post something like this, but since you seem to be confused when people like me want new stuff to do, I'll explain. I've played this game (logging in and actually playing) for probably 23ish years and I'd consider myself a "power gamer". That is, I want to have the best character possible to complete the highest level of content possible (doing it solo is what I work for). I would easily spend 4-5 hours per day (everyday) playing UO 15+ years ago. Even up until maybe 2 years ago I'd still play 1-2 hours a day (maybe 7-10 hours a week). Needless to say, I've spent a ton of time in the game and have done a lot of stuff (almost all "new" content as it was added). While there are plenty of things I haven't done in a very long time like Huntsman challenge, that's not something that I care to do because that's not endgame content to keep me interested or something that gives worthwhile rewards for time spent. In short, it's boring with no reward that is worth my time to work towards.

To further answer your question, I've done UW over 100 times. It's one of the few things I will still do when someone calls out for it, but most of my characters are well outfitted at this point. My houses are filled up with legendary gear that I create suits to sell (that gets boring too). I can solo most peerless (and all champs) so I've done all that many,many, many times throughout the years (champs/peerless are over a decade old). I have every tabard from Shrine battles (and all the minax arties I want which is similar content). I've done majority of quests, including getting diving suits for 3-4 chars on each account (I didn't consider it fun...more like a chore). I've solo'ed Doom for hours on end to get myself a couple halo's and bracers. I've solo'ed Shadowguard probably 200+ times (not counting another 500+ times doing it in groups) and have at least one of every single cameo. Scalis/Corgal/etc I've done hundreds of times and have multiple 1 tile soulforges and other arties. I have a treasure hunter and solo level 7 maps when I'm bored (honestly they aren't worth the time). I have sailed the high seas and built several orc ships and filled my house with resources from pirating. I have a crafter for every skills along with multiples of all BOD rewards. I have 2 tamers with stables full of 5 slot max scroll/skilled pets. Out of boredom I started a character from scratch on Origin a couple years ago as if I was playing UO from day 1. The list goes on...

I think there are plenty of things to do in UO (after all it's a 25 year old game that up until a few years ago had several new updates each year) but that doesn't mean that it's content to keep people interested, especially if they are like me and have done much of it over the years at the highest level. Most basic example I can think of this would be working your character up to kill greater dragons and then expecting them to go kill drakes somewhere else when they get bored of killing the greater dragons.

At the end of the day I really don't think it's asking for much to have some new content added (even if it's just cookie cutter dynamic events) 4-5 times a year when people are paying $120/year per account (or more). It's like paying for a monthly gym membership only to have the gym not replace or add any equipment and tell the members "well there are plenty of other things to use". How long before people get fed up and decide to go to another gym where they DO get new equipment?

There's a lot i haven't done in game. But after reading your post i started thinking about just how little i really wanted to do the things i haven't tried. 

You are correct. I would really enjoy more things without the grindy quests such as Nav or Cora. I don't think it would hurt to have dynamics going constantly with rewards on a recycle either. Then add a few new rewards in every so often to be cycled thru as well. 

Everything gets stale....UO is no exception, it's just better at it...

100% agree with the caveat that the same dynamic event shouldn't run more than a couple months. It would be something like Champ spawn for 30 days then switch to ToT (or something like that) for 60 days then switch back to champ spawn (or quest chain) for 30 days then 60 days for ToT again (in a different dungeon) OR run town invasions or something of the like. For those that say "there is no time to keep up with that"; don't worry because the events are all pretty cookie cutter and the rewards will cycle back again so everyone will eventually get to select them all. 

All the groundwork is there to just "turn on" these things in the same places they've done them before with very limited manual intervention (at least as per Dev team when they spent the entire year creating the "dynamic tool"). 

As for the rewards, yes just cycle through them so people are able to get them again by either randomizing them or have a set schedule. Also include a few new rewards which could simply be a reskinned reward (ie "demon studded chest" or "Snake skin cloak" or "bear mask of wildfire) or could be new artwork (after all don't we have 2 artists now??). 

The lack of creativity by the Dev team gets to be a bit frustrating when it comes to keeping things fresh (notice how I said creativity and not originality). The only "new" work I've mentioned above is artwork for some existing item with same stats. Aside from releasing nothing like they do now, it's just about as little effort as we could ask for.

Nah, absolutely not really interested in giving ToTs to the bots on all shards 24/7.

However! If the devs address the 3rd party clients and make the drops account bound in such hypothetical situation I could see a strong case for leaving the ToTs on 24/7 rotation.

The 7th is a Friday and those times really SUCK for the people on the West coast.  8-10 AM and 2-4PM for the West coast.

The times for the event prohibit my attendance.  The fact that prizes are not shard bound gives an advantage to shard shield people and is also a money maker for BS for transfer token sales.

Underwhelming.

Someone asked in another thread (paraphrasing) "what can we do as players to help the game?"  There is not much that can be done by a player in regards to this event. 

Maybe roleplay that you are trapped on the wrong shard and you have to participate in games that only happen for four hours on one day to get the prizes you need to escape the shard.

On that note, if anyone who plays Europa or Drachs plans to attend, I can supply runes to my Origin house, basic kit for any new char they might make to attend and transport back to those shards for any gifts they acquire. 
I'm sure there are other players who can offer a similar service for other shards.
