Can Medusa Be Carved From All Pumpkin Types?

So, I'm still hopeful I'll come up with my second ever Medusa Jack O' Lantern. But I'm wondering if anyone can confirm which pumpkin types can or can't be used to render a Medusa? I don't want to use up the kits on pumpkins that won't work!

Can you even make one from a round pumpkin? Do the watermelons work? The only one I had to go by was the tall orange pumpkin one I carved.

The shape of the pumpkin you start with needs to match the shape of the jack o' lantern you are looking for.

Only tall orange make Medusa pumpkins.

I was sort of thinking maybe the watermelons could make a cool looking green faced Medusa.
