I for one am fed up with EJ acct scripters and want to enjoy the game without being harassed by these abusers
I would not be playing had it not been for the EJ account I had for the seven or eight months it took me to figure out how to play the game. They are necessary to get new and old players back into the game. Although I don’t see much evidence that UO is trying to attract new players, I can’t see any potential new players paying a subscription fee for this game when there are so many other play for free games.
I am sorry these EJ accounts are being abused by players that know what they are doing. It amazes me that there is a real cash market for most of rewards. Since EJ accounts can’t have vendors anyway and since they are trial accounts maybe allowing them to experience Destard without getting drops makes sense. They could still fight the monsters and get the full experience of the game just without the reward. I know this is an old, old game but it should not be that difficult to put additional limits on EJ accounts that prevent them from being used by experienced players to farm rewards.
Also, a grandmaster can play the game just fine. You don’t need anymore than that. And, you can equip a pretty good suit just with the drops you get or that you buy on vendor search. Yes, you will do better with all the bells and whistles experienced players have, no question about that. But, EJ accounts don’t need the rewards to experience the game.
If EJ accounts are to learn the game why can they script/bot eggs or be able to get any event items. I feel they should be blocked from events
and then those scripters would just open paid accounts and keep on bothering you, while old returnees and new prospects would be further diminished from the experience. You don't seem to grasp the extent cheaters will go to. I would even go as far as to suspect that the most vocal against EJs are really bigtime scripters with tens of paid accounts, just distracting us all from their shenanigans.
They should never be allowed to leave haven all issues fixed
High seas is easy a small closed area for fishing and pirating. eodon just no why would someone learning the game need to go there or doom or blackthorns...
It's quite common to have EJ players doing roof (time of legends expansion). They paid for that, so taking it away seems problematic. So you board a guild mates Orc ship as an EJ, with high seas, what happens when the ship goes too far from new haven? Is there even any pirates next to new haven?
You haven't commented on what I suggested, what's the problem with starting there?
Keeping them in Haven incorporates all your ideas
Just one liner code in server to force EJ login to use ONLY EC.
Bots and 3rd party scripters will be blocked automatically.
CC is supposed to sunset, why still promote CC to new users.
That’s amazing. Such a simple solution. Would upset a few players I think but an explanation up front and the opportunity to switch back to CC upon subscribing should take care of that. Guessing that most scripters are long time players they would probably not quit. They would still script but at least UO would gain some revenue from that change.

Well, I don't know first hand any EJ scripter, but I know dozens upon dozens of regular account scripters, so the approach seems moot.
