Ship hold inconsistency

Why is my hold considered a secure container for all purposes except refilling my quiver...

Why doesn’t it refill all the 6 cannons? 

Digress a little:
If I design the High Seas Ship:

- We should just drop 1000 ammo in the hold, that’s it! It will auto transfer to all cannons
- When placing cannons, each cannon shall come with a NPC cannon firer standing next to it (like placing vendor).
- Next, as a player we are captains and we don’t run around loading cannons! We shout commands!

Load cannons!
Fire Port, Starboard, Front, or All.
Reload cannons!
We stand still, only move the ship!

For those who like to play firer, can buy cannons without the NPC.

I really like the idea of the ships hold auto reloading cannons! That would be a great boon in the way the ship operated.

Yeah, add the resources into the hold, and..
Captain McDougle shouts, ”Repair da ship ya xxx!”, then the NPC repairs the ship.

That would make a great item for the Buccaneer guy, have a cannon that refills itself.  I'd be rushing to get a bunch of them except it probably would be boring considering how many shots it takes to kill the Plunder Beacons.  It would be boring just to sit and watch a
nd it would have to give an option for when multiple characters were firing the cannon to get the drops.  I would think it would be fairly simple to do that.

It’s still too much trouble finding another player. Sometimes even quarrel.

As pirates we can shout “Throw that overboard!”. The NPC should throw the other player overboard.
