Is publish 112 really going live next week?

It looks like @Mesanna added a note to the main page of UO.com saying publish 112 is going live next week. I'm hoping this isn't the case because the content being released (based on the notes right now) is pretty light; it's basically Vet rewards  / Valentine gift / a few bug fixes.

In the past, the first release always included the Vet rewards / Valentine gifts / bug fixes but then always had extra content; last year was more items added to the blackmarket vendor and the previous year was IDOC overhaul and the prior year to that was rising tide. 

Is this really it for publish 112?  @Kyronix

  • Refactored the Monster-Proof Chest to the Chalice of Pilfering Protection, an elegant sculpture that will grant the user protection from monster looting once per 24 hours.
  • Updated the Potion Vat to hold up to 10 different types of potion kegs, 10 of each type for a total of 100 kegs.
  • Pet costumes will now automagically re-equip upon resurrecting a dead pet.
  • Pre-resist damage is no longer reflected by reflect physical damage.
  • You may now transmogrify the Hildebrandt shield with gargish shields.

And I did patch...twice...second time's the charm

Oh I like the chalice.
I'm thinking new content might be lite this year since they are probably having to double down on getting NL up and running for Sept's 25th anniversary.

Or similar to the soulstone vessel for your shard shield so they don't take up space in your house. The shield is just a deco item and has zero use in the game. Why not have a 25 year title and something like 20% housing storage increase once you claim it.

Wouldn't they have to load that graphic and info into Pinco's  or does it do it flawlessly?

The chalice is exactly what was asked for.  

It works like a Luck Statue.  You click it it works for 2 hours.
So you can use your luck statue for an hour with this also on.
Put it in your house and set to public and others can use it.
Only need 1 per shard.

Very good @Kyronix

I would prefer more hours tho.

I agree that, to my opinion, as it is, the Shield is worthless and useless, just a Deco item as you said which, for 25 continuous Years of Customer Loyalty, seems, at least to my opinion, quite underwhelming....

The Housing Storage increase would have been MUCH better and, at least, something tangible and actually usefull....

I would have actually made it some 40% Bank and Storage Increase for Accounts having 25 Years of continuous, active Age as a sign of appreciation for their continued Customer Loyalty for a whopping and amazing 25 Years......

Instead, 25 Years active Account Age Veteran Accounts, apparently, will be getting "that " shield.....

Keeping things on track (this isn't a thread to discuss what the rewards are... there is a separate thread for that); it is disappointing that pub 112 is just for vet rewards/vday rewards. It's especially disappointing when none of the rewards appeal to me (I do like the shield but nobody will be able to get that until Sept... for me it's another 2 years); which is fine but with no other content being released that means there is nothing else in the publish for me to look forward to. Again this is fine too if it's just me but for any account under 5 years (autoloom) the only thing they get is the chalice (as far as content) and that is if they even want it. It seems like it's light on content for a whole bunch of people when I think about it like that.

I think that throwing some stuff on the black market vendor or a couple new clean-up reward would have been a pretty easy "win" to actually give some content to everyone regardless of account age. At least then people would have some added reason to grind toward something. 

@Kyronix - When can we expect the dynamic event list for the first half of the year (ie March-June)? Perhaps in the next newsletter?  I know the dynamic system was implemented a couple years ago for this very reason; more of a turn key event creator so we could have them throughout the year. Now that I've pretty much exhausted my "misc" grinding in Jan and this publish is really only for Vet rewards, I'm hoping that we can get something new to look forward to doing over the next 4-5 months. Thanks.

LMAO i told you guys, and yall defended the devs.  I know a lot of people who are getting increasingly bored.  The sub counts gonna plummet.  I'm guessing NL isn't going as smoothly as they would like us all to think, so its all hands on deck.

If they did indeed give Origin the publish, I can't test it...my vet reward gump is NOT popping up.....on either of my accounts.

Every day that darn thing pops up...no I don't use EC, UO Assist, Pinco's...I just play the game as it was intended..no bells and whistles.

🙁  I was ready to spend some vet reward picks.....

I already spotted a bug concerning the reflect physical if it goes live. They(devs) can DM me if they want to know.

No idea, if only they would provide clearer informations we would maybe know what they actually talking about.

 I am guessing you could stack large amounts of reflect, and get hit for 30 before resist, take only 9 damage, but reflect back 30, having your opponent take the same.

So... i am assuming someone got butthurt because they killed themselves attacking someone.

When damage is calculated the last thing that happens before it is applied is that it is reduced by the opponents armor. 50 damage x .7 (70 resist) equals 35 damage reduction by resist  is  50 - 35 equals 15 damage taken.  Or turn it around 70 resist means you only take 30% damage  50 x .3 equals 15.

Maybe it was reflecting the damage number before armor.

I was trying to cut them some slack and trying to stay positive. Let's see what is in the next newsletter. I agree it might be all hands on deck for NL but lack of love on Prod shards (simply creating new vet rewards that not even everyone can claim isn't exactly love) would be a bit concerning. People will start getting bored and looking for other things to keep their attention.

I think Neira casts necro spells which includes blood oath. If the person didn't have resist and wasn't paying attention that could be why. This would happen to my sampire when fighting the DF before I had resist. Reflect damage had nothing to do with it.

Before publish....solo Nierra almost every day (It's his favorite spawn) with no issues

After publish...same template....cannot solo.

He's not a noob, he knows what he's doing (No it's not me because I don't care to solo spawns)

What do you mean, these changes are only on test server right now

And I guess origin now since yesterday.. is your friend on Origin ?

But yea unless it hapened yesterday , but like keven said it could of been blood oath, I saw ppl get one shot by it

They are on Origin, Baja and Izumo....obviously I am on one of those shards yes?

And like I said...does Nierra almost every day, if you do something every day and then one day it's completely different, something changed yes? Not the character...same character, same template, same gear.

No matter, this is just going to turn into a fight or an argument so I will leave it be.

Just wish I could test the other vet rewards, was planning on getting the Chalice and the loom but gump isn't popping up.

Hopefully others are having more luck. The vat is acting weird on TC. Can't test the shield, I am only 15 years.

Can't test the pet costume fix because the costume I want hasn't been added to the store yet.

@Larisa - Hard to say what changed for Niera without seeing it. Usually when claims are second or third hand there will be speculation about not getting the full story. Person could have just lagged out and seemed like it was a one shot but it really wasn't. Doesn't really matter but I don't think it had anything to do with reflect damage changes.

All that said, I think you nailed what I was trying to say earlier with lack of content for Pub 112. The publish goes live and the average person either can't test the rewards (because they don't have the vet picks or aren't old enough) or just aren't interested enough to test (again only getting 2 rewards per year they might not want a potentially bugged potion vat). This publish (like all publishes) really should include some new content / items for everyone to use/claim (like blackmarket rewards / clean up points / new dungeon drop / etc)

They never put bug/exploit fixes in the patch notes so ppl can't figure out a  work around before it goes live.

They call out bug fixes all the time. They even did it for this release. They are always under the Misc Updates. "The reflect physical damage..." that was a bug that was fixed to correct the issue (ie bug).

"The issue that allowed people in to Gravewater without proper attire has been resolved." How hard is that?

Won’t do any harm to let us try and crack before publishing. And point out the inadequacies of the fixes.

Also I’m just going to leave my tamer in there indefinitely with my pet. If I want to bring stuff out I’ll just give it to another char. They are still letting you log out with pet down there..”

Pub 112 is live worldwide and I'm pretty disappointed at how light the content is.

It's not so much that we didn't get any new content to start doing this week but rather with the apparent lack of content that is coming. I might be wrong here but typically any sort of new content like Tritons/Hook's shield/Wildfire Ozzie/etc needs to be tested and then the artwork / data goes in during the publish; which does not mean turned on right away (but at least we know what to look forward to). 

With NL about 7 months away (maybe) and possibly being all hands on deck for that in the meantime, would we actually get another publish before then? So basically whatever was tested the past few weeks is what we get?

Given all that, I'm wondering if we are actually getting something new to do with some kind of new reward(s) in the next 7 months. There is only so much Shadowguard/Doom/Underwater (especially after their fix) I can do before I become bored with the game and applying that to a 7 month time frame there is a good chance I take another break from the game. I doubt I'd be the only one that feels that way and I doubt anyone would be marking their calendars for the NL release to log back in if they found something else that keeps their attention. 

Maybe I'm going to far down the rabbit hole but a simple road map (or announcement that a road map is coming in a few weeks) would go a long way.

There was also a bunch of people here on the forums complaining about the events being too frequent/long.  

Personally, just flip the on switch for some older content to keep us busy.  Treasures of Tokuno, City Invasions would be nice.  Been a couple years now for either right?

Yea the only problem with flipping on the old stuff like that for long periods is that it quickly falls by the wayside because for the invasions the only thing anyone really comes for is the 50% SDI book so it's literally a mad dash to find the mage generals and when they die everyone leaves. The ToT literally only has 1 drop that anyone wants (Luck Mempo) since they removed the turn in reward dyes. 

I could see it being all hands on deck for NL but if that's the case let us know nothing is coming. At least then people can decide what they want to do. Lack of communication is one of the biggest criticisms of the Dev team that they are fully in control of how it is handled.

I don't accept that excuse we were told the reason behind the new treasures of content was the speed and ease click a button or two and it's done all so they could focus on NL ...now we just accept they can't even do that..

I'm hoping we will get the 3 dynamic events (the storyline / champ spawn / treasures event) starting March (and go through June/July) but I'm not sure if that's going to be possible without another publish (which I don't expect before NL).

1.- What on earth is the "house teleporter refresh cooldown"?

2.- The online store is definitely bugged.
Tried different accounts on different shards I play with these same results:
-It opens in Origin, but its completely blank, with no merchandise to be seen, but it displays my available sovereigns
-is not working at all on ATL, it doesn't even open
-It works fine in Europa, Drachenfels, GL, & Chessy.

The refresh cooldown is something that was put in like 1 or 2 publishes ago? They never really gave much insight into what the issue was (I never experienced a broken teleporter) but they made it have a 7 day cool down to fix (I'm guessing someone was exploiting something) and they have eased up that cool down to 1 day. Again I don't know what it's actually changing.  

I've also seen lots of people saying it is down on ATL as well. I just tried and yep it's broken for me too - it immediately aborts the request. 

Sounds like a few wonky things were introduced with pub 112 though so probably just need to report the bugs as you come across them.
