How much of a role do FCI and FC play outside of typical caster builds?

Like ranged and melee combat builds that include bushido, ninjitsu and and chivalry?

I've mostly been playing my mage since I've come back so I'm not sure how to evaluate this on loot.

I wouldnt factor it into your equipment build.  Sampire has no need for FCR or FC.  Its a plus but not at expense of SSI/DI/HCI/DFI

My Sampires use the FC 1 Town Bonus for faster Curse Weapon/Corpse Skin casts. They have GM SS though.

For warriors, protection and 4/6 are useful to remove curse, heal and cure during a fight.

They are mutually exclusive except for the fcr... so I prefer protection over FC as it's less burden on my template.

For my warriors prefer protection + FCR

Don't forget, Protection lowers your Resist skill, if you have it.

Yup, you are right. My pvm warrior don’t have resist and the physical resist is over spec by 70+20, so after the protection spell -15 it drops back to +75 physical resist. With fully refine armor all +75 resist and energy is +80.
