Does anyone else have issues with trying to place things in there home on the second floor and up, and then whatever is placed on the floor below interfering with being able to drop the items? I am using enhanced client. Is there a setting or a way to drop stuff on the ground without things beneath me keeping me from dropping them?

Some items block placing above them. Try placing a pouch? If that don't work, you have to remove the object below.

Thank you @Pawain, I have basically been decorating starting from the top floor and working my way down.

Parrots are a blocker as I recall.
#4
place a pouch or backpack on the floor in a different spot
(with your item inside)

secure it in place ("I wish to secure this" and target the bag)

and then relocate to the place you want the item
(relocate is an option when you, right click on the secure container)

then chop the pouch or backpack and Your item will be where you want it to go.

make sure to lock it down afterwards...

I did this yesterday and it works perfectly

you are welcome.

I figured out to do that, because I had a mannequin underneath where
I wanted to place something.

A worthwhile tip that doesn't deserve to get lost when the thread falls off the bottom. @Cinderella, if you post this in a thread in Homes & Castles I'll 'sticky' it, hopefully others with useful decorating tips will add to it, creating a significant resources for home owners.
