Hello all of my fellow gamers that enjoy this game! I'm happy to return and play this great lasting game with you all.  I've created a warrior character on Chesapeake.  I spent my first evening just getting settled in, getting my template set up in the skills windows, gathering new player quests, and culling Old Haven.

I went with the Enhanced Client.  I did try Classic client, but man the small screen is really tough to see these days especially with my large monitor.

I was able to complete the new player quests for Tactics and Healing.  I started healing at 49 points though.  I wasn't able to summon the mini-champ in Old Haven.  I thought I was pumping the spawn pretty well because it started spawning the Spectral casters all over, but no luck.  Maybe tomorrow night?  I hope you all had a fun time reading this and I look forward to posting more.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Nothing, no one was talking.  Step it up Chessy.

Biggest Bug Encountered: None, good job.

Today's Question: Is there a setting to change where corpse loot windows open? Right now it's always popping up in the same spot and that spot is where I prefer my buff/debuff bars.

Today’s Recommendation: Allow the keyboard input for statistics when creating a character.

Favorite Moment This Session: I discovered that my settings from previous times I played were saved even though I had to reinstall.

Favorite Player Seen: None. I spent a lot of time in Old Haven and never saw another soul.  There was one person in Haven near the bank, but I did not interact.

Welcome Back.
You can make the game window larger in CC in the Display options.

Chessy is very quiet in chat, I rarely get replies when I go there.
#2
We been loud for 2 hours now lol. Someone usually around, at least after 5pm. Not too often I'm on earlier, maybe morning crew is quieter? I usually  respond when I'm on - unless it gets lost in BOD spam. (When you make 100 dresses to fill 10 BODs with a 10 count it feels the need to tell you 90 times that the first BOD is full and so on ...)
#3
Were you in the General channel? Often we're a little too loud.

I started in Gen, but swapped to Help to see if people were there.  To be fair, I didn't say anything either.

Just about everyone is in Gen Chat, just holler if you ever need help.

Day 2!!! Woohoo.  I spent a lot of time on the game today just for the simple fact that this is a rainy Sunday.  I managed to summon the Impaler twice in Old Haven.  I got his bone helm that I never knew previously was unique.  A whole set would be pretty difficult to get!  My goal for Old Haven is to get my full template to 60 skill points.  I managed to get Resisting Spells to 60+ and all other skills are 50+ except lumberjacking.

I know my template of Alchemy, Anatomy, Healing, Lumberjacking, Resisting Spells, Swordsmanship, and Tactics isn't the best template, but I'm excited for it.  I've kinda wanted an axe wielder.  I'll likely buy some soulstones from the UO Store and mess around with my template a lot when I get 7xGM.  Just to get more optimal and able to grab some champ spawns for gold to buy powerscrolls.

I missed that Anatomy had a new player quest. I've finished every quest I grabbed except that one. I didn't look too hard, but I no longer saw the accelerated gains buff toward the end of my session.  I had fun today.  There was some movement in chat that wasn't third party sellers.  I found a super awesome spot for my future house so I'm excited for that when I get the gold.

Loot hasn't been too bad, I'm near 70 phys resist and see the easy potential of getting a full 70s suit while fighting ettins next.

I swapped to CC looking at what Pawain said, but the resolution was already set to max.  Even on my laptop it was hard to see so I went back to EC.

Yea, he spelled cheek wrong.

Biggest Bug Encountered: There's a "true" chat message when just double clicking the housing placement tool.  It's easily repeated so I didn't capture a screenshot.  I was just checking prices.

Today's Question: Did they change where to get those crystal balls for training?

Old Unanswered Question: Is there a setting to change where corpse loot windows open? Right now it's always popping up in the same spot and that spot is where I prefer my buff/debuff bars.

Today’s Recommendation: Have it display total gold amount when depositing gold into bank.  The gump you get when right clicking a banker doesn't open when you just type "Bank."

Favorite Moment This Session: Getting that helm from the Impaler.  I was happy to see this actually existed after being told about it on Stratics.  I'm a big fan of the Daemon Bone Armor and farming things like that.

Favorite Player Seen: None. i only saw one person in New Haven tonight and it was brief.

What I Watched While Playing: Big Brother Season 5 and some Masked Singer Season 2.

Stone off the Alchemy since it does nothing for the template.  Put on Chivalry. There is a quest for 50 Chivalry.  If you buy the skill up to 30s first you can still do the quest. Also always give the guy 400 gold and he will give you more points than he says he will.

When ready for Resist, buy a boat and pull  a few spellbinders to the shore and hop on boat and let them blast you.  You can also remove curse to increase Chiv that way until it stops.
#8
Nah, not interested in min-maxing or power leveling skills.  That's when the game starts getting boring.  I was already getting bored just circling the casters in old haven instead of killing them.  Resist is super easy to level even without a boat.

Chiv isn't a part of my RP.

I like Alchemy.  Plus I'm going to be doing a lot of gardening.

We have garden beds so you do not need potions for plants.
#10
Thank you for your advice.  I do remember garden beds.  I enjoy my template for now.  It's my only character and I'm sure I will soulstone stuff around eventually.  For now, I'm going with a template that I find fun to play and not a template others may find fun to play.

I enjoy the gardening system in the game and I do have the booster pack for garden beds.  I'd have to buy new ones though because I no longer have my old items.

I'm into alchemy in UO as well.  Maybe there will be buffs to it one day? I don't see the harm in grinding it with my warrior for now.
#11
GM alchemy gives a boost to potions doesn't it?

Yea it does! 🙂 I'm hoping it will compensate for not having the extra max stat caps on this character.  We'll see.

Day 3!!! I had fun today.  I dipped into my saved gold to get Alchemy up and got everything above 60.  That was my goal to move out of Old Haven and onto Ettins.  At 80 I'll probably go to Haven Mine or the Earth Elementals in Ilshenar.

The spawn in Old Haven cycled a few times and I got to kill the Impaler 3 times.  One time didn't have a bone armor drop though.

I found an area of affect Axe and pulled a bunch of NPCs.  That's annoying but still kind of a fun mechanic to be aware of.

This was a fun session.  I feel like I got a lot accomplished.

Did they change where to get those crystal balls for training?

Today’s Recommendation: Make a more noticeable alert when you buy too much for your bag and it's dropped at your feet.

Favorite Moment This Session: I got the Impaler's arms.  I also got a 2nd helm.

Favorite Player Seen: Not much going on.  I did see a few people in Luna, but it was just in passing.

I use the CC and under the options menu in the interface section there is a box to check to "offset interface windows rather than perfectly stacking them." Each time you open a container, it moves slightly so eventually it will move off your bar. I'm sure there is a way to do it in EC but I never use it; but I am hoping it's in the same category in both clients.

"Did they change where to get those crystal balls for training? "

Not sure where they were before, but you get them in Ter Mur's Royal City from a quest given by Ortlem the Mystic located right outside the mage shop. The quest asks for 100 dragon's blood and 100 daemon bones. You can collect it before hand.

Day 4 Woo, today was a doozy of a day.  I actually had to work for work today.  Why do they expect things if they're paying me?  In game it was a big day as well.  I got a lot of gains today.  Healing is slowing down a lot.  I may move on to earth eles before healing gets to 70 it's going so much slower than other skills.

I culled the ettin populations.  I'm surprised they even spawn in my presence anymore.  I got some great loot drops, but I made the mistake of putting an antique on.  This thing went from 255 to 0 in a single session.  That's crazy.  Why even use antique pieces?

My armor is almost complete with full 70s in all but one.  When I replace the neck I'm losing out on a lot of resists.  It's a major magic item in stats.  20% phys resist is gonna be tough to lose.  I'll repair it til I get a replacement.

I attended a player event tonight when I was invited to PaxLair's Town Hall.  They were super kind and it was great seeing the goblins again.  I do like playing with those goblin players and reading what they type.  They are so creative and quick.  I consider myself super intelligent, but I don't think I could type that quick or consistently as they do.

I've debated trying this journal in character rather than out, but I think it's a bit outside of my comfort zone to RP a female on message boards.  In game I can just play Feigr as a strong female warrior.  There's just something different on message boards in my head.

The night before last night I messaged the EM and I got in for the 3 month window of events just under the line.  I think I had like 3 hours left to message him?  I got a message back very quickly.  I look forward to playing with this EM if they respond to emails so quickly and helpfully.

Lots of events on Chesapeake.  It's almost overwhelming.

I had a great time tonight in game.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Leigh Ann: WOOHOO Footwear BODs 😂
Coming from a female char name, this gave me a chuckle.

Today's Question: None today, but thank you for the answers Marge!

Today’s Recommendation: Put a message board in New Haven on the outside wall of the bank for maybe governor filtered player event announcements.  Point new players to it? Spit balling here.

Favorite Moment This Session: Getting the Pax Lair Townhall invite.  It's awesome to be included.

Favorite Player Seen: Madison.  This person crafted me an earth elemental slayer axe.  I couldn't find one on the Vendor Search.  There was an elemental slayer axe, but way outside my price range.  Thanks Madison!

What I Watched While Playing: Big Brother Season 6.  Howie talking about how ma-chest-ic his fellow house guests are.

That’s really cool someone made you and earth elemental slayer weapon. That’s a great kind of weapon for a new character so they can slay the spawn in the Haven mine and make a lot of gold and get better gear faster. Nice!

Day 5, today wasn't spectacular.  I did move from Ettins to Earth Elementals and I probably overprepared for them.  I was killing them in one shot.  They were still damaging me so I was able to use bandages for skill gains.  I moved to Ilsh near the Gargoyle city for some paragon action and I managed to kill 3 Earth Elemental Paragons.  One had a chest.  It's sitting in my bank.  I got some cooking materials.  I think those are exclusive to Paragons but I'm not sure.  On my way back to New Haven I got bola'd by a Paragon normal savage.  I kept running thinking to outpace it, but my mount died.  The paragon ran me down and I turned to fight.  I made shorter work of the savage than I thought I could.  I should have just fought it to save my horse.

I also went to fight Efreets, but there was a spawn around my spot.  It just occurred to me as I type this that I could have lured them away. I'll do that tomorrow.  Honestly a paragon Efreet might prove to be a challenge.  A lot of it's debuffs are lasting over a minute despite having 70+ Resist.  I was hoping getting resist high would reduce debuff duration.

Tomorrow I'll stick to New Haven mine and try to grind out the gold for my initial house custom foundation.  Gold is raining from the sky against those Eles.

I did check Old Haven for the Impaler to see if I could get another drop, but someone was working it themselves and fighting him when I got there.  I left them alone.

I managed to get Alchemy over 70.  Spider Silk needs some more alchemy recipes. LOL I'm building a stockpile.  Throwable paralyze potion?

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: There was activity in chat, but it wasn't funny.

Biggest Bug Encountered: One of the NPC quest givers had ` in it's speech.  Nothing major.  Wasn't even worth grabbing a screenie of.

Today's Question: When'd they add this or am I nuts? I never noticed this before.  It's the little things.

Today’s Recommendation: Show the amount you're over in resists on the character statistics page.  It sounds simple, but this would be very helpful to me as I try to hunt up pieces of gear.  I could use a spreadsheet, but it'd be so much easier in game and there is already the menu.  I'm really proud of this one so I hope people are reading.

Favorite Moment This Session: The paragon chest made me happy.  I've always loved that mechanic.

Favorite Player Seen: a shadow wisp was buying stuff in chat and there was some sellers spamming that were obviously selling for currency not in game.  It just seemed like this person didn't care and wanted to participate in the game.

What I Watched While Playing: Big Brother Season 6.  Wow, they did Kaysar dirty in Season 6.

Mannequins actually do this now. You can switch your clothes and weapons with them and then view suit stats to see your values. I still rely on an outside spreadsheet for fine tuning suit/jewelry/stats but in a pinch it's pretty good.

Wow, that's great.  Yea, I'd like something similar on the character page.  I don't have access to a mannequin, yet, and it'd be nice to get that detail in field while I'm sorting through drops.  If that makes sense.  At this point in my character development I'm swapping equipment a lot.

Welcome back, glad to see you having fun.  Be sure to check out the Chesapeake's EM events that are schedule this month on https://uo.com/events/. ; Always a blast of fun, death robes to all fun.  I would strongly suggest you purchase a undertaker staff at the Origin Store.  500 Sov, you can see the inventory of items there for sale by clicking on the help option.  Always good to carry that if you are in a place of certain death and cannot get to your body, the staff can be used to call your body to you.

Day 6, Moar! Earth Eles.  Skill gains are much slower in the 70s when you're one shot'ing things, but the gold income is great.  I managed to kill a lot of paragons and got three more chests.  Eight Ball opened them for me.  Thanks Eight Ball!  I found a super slayer on one of the elementals.  It has Hit Chance and Damage increase as well.  It's elemental and a crossbow.  The only negative is that it's a mage weapon -25.  I'm not sure if that means it's unusable or not.  Do mage weapons only use magery or is archery still used?

Bereg Strongbow was advertising a free white dye tub and I scooped that up.  I love me some dye tubs and hope to have a full collection.  Thanks Bereg!

I capped my suit of full 70s and 75 Energy Resist for being an elf.  I also got a Fire Elemental Slayer axe so tried to go kill those near the earth eles I was fighting.  They spawn in huge groups though.  Even though I was able to kill groups of 5 with hit and run, it still felt safer just to stick to Earth Elementals.  I actually got a lot of axe drops today that I held onto.  I also got a dragon slayer music weapon that I'm gonna hang onto in case I try bard.  I figured that'd come in useful eventually.  I'd love to find a daemon slayer or Undead Super Slayer.  Efreets, Daemons and Liches are probably the next goal after earth elementals.  Maybe even Ice Fiends.

The cave from Compassion to the spawn I fight at had a Paragon Gargoyle on it.  I tried to fight it and while I think I can definitely win it would have taken a very long time and multiple close calls so I left it alone.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Nothing really funny in chat today.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I repaired a few items when they were highlighted red or orange.  The highlight stayed until I reopened paperdoll.  Nothing spectacular here.  I just thought I'd mention it since I saw nothing else.

Today's Question: Does Bushido + Parry work with axes or is it just swords?

Today’s Recommendation: This is one I don't have first hand experience with and I'm just going off of what I've gathered through researching which items to keep while out fighting.  Imbuing has common ingredients until you reach the highest of intensities.  Those highest intensity items require less common ingredients.  Can loot have properties of those high intensities that drop highlighted? Or even have intensities use a font color like cold to hot in color temperature that indicates the imbuing intensity.  From what I've gathered, the most desired items are the ones with properties that require those less common ingredients and don't have negative properties/properties that don't synergize.  Some negative properties are actually good (Brittle) and some are worse than others.

Just to restate simply... highlight properties that have an intensity as high as what would require less common ingredients when imbuing.

I'm not as confident with this recommendation as my others.  I do know it's hard for me to tell which items I should be keeping that are valuable if any.

Favorite Moment This Session: My favorite moment was watching Eight Ball telekenisis my 4 Paragon Chests and getting to dig through them.  Thank you again Eight Ball.  Thank you as well Bereg.

Favorite Player Seen: Eight Ball

What I Watched While Playing: Chick Fight, a movie on Netflix.  I wasn't too interested in it, but added it to queue.  I figured I'd mostly just listen while I played.  Fighting/training montages hype me up.

Day 7, whelp... I'm officially broke... BECAUSE I BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! I got the plot I wanted! My house is the first house leaving Umbra heading west and on the south side of the road.  I'm very happy with this spot.  I've place a mailbox if anyone wants to drop me a message from time to time.

Last night, after spotting a curious NPC in New Haven, I had a realization that I had been leaving a lot of resources on Earth Elementals.  I looked up this Cleanup Officer NPC, grabbed a brown bag from the provisioner, and went for a run to the Earth Eles.  I filled the bag with all the magic items, except the 50 stone ones, that dropped and tossed them in the trash barrel in Luna.  Almost 400 points on average!  I also began looting gems and that gave me almost 5k in gems whenever I reached weight limit.  This greatly sped up my gold generation.

I was very productive in getting gold today.  It was fun in New Haven Mine.  I decided to stick there instead of going for Paragons because it was easier to get back to town between reaching weight limits.  I encountered another adventuring player while playing TRACIA, an archer.  We didn't speak, but it was fun seeing someone else doing what I was doing.

Skill gains haven't been as good as I'd like so I think that's my next goal.  Tactics is the surprise slow one at this point, but healing isn't far behind.  I'd love to get that to 80 so I can ressurect people if needed.  That'd be a great goal for the EM/player events.  I can hang out in the back and just help ressurect until I get comfortable.  Wandering Healer, Feigr.

I still haven't died myself, knock on a bunch of wood.  My first death robe will forever be the robes I wear in game.  Until I find a better robe*.

I'll probably play some more tonight, but my sister is wanting me to listen to this "The Bible in a Year" podcast with her and I've got to listen to two episodes today and work on catching up with her.  A few "fans" want me to review another game too so I've got to spend some time on Tinkertown.  It's an early access game and from what I understand it doesn't have a lot of content so it should be a quick project.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Nothing really funny in chat today. I've been playing during work so it's odd hours.

Biggest Bug Encountered: This one is silly and small.  But hey, just for sake of being complete... A lot of NPCs have ~ in their speech.  I can't figure out what may cause this.  NPC Mugg outside of the New Haven Mine does it consistently.  I can get a screenshot if needed.

Today's Question: What are your favorite useful Enhanced Client macros?

Today’s Recommendation: This one is simple and I'm very proud of this one as well.  I'd love to see a player vendor for repairs.  It has a menu of which repair you need.  The owner/patron of the vendor can charge it with repair deeds.  Grandmaster and Legendary only.  They can also set the price.  I envision it opening a context menu with a button for each repairs available, the amount of charges, and the cost.  Maybe even an option to repair all, if available.

Favorite Moment This Session: Placing my house! The Moody Moon!

Favorite Player Seen: TRACIA, have fun adventuring!

What I Watched While Playing: The Minority Mindset on Youtube.  With GameStop making big news it reminds me just how important channels and information from channels like them are.  I also watched some more Big Brother 6.  I was wrong yesterday about Chick Fight.  Chick Fight is available on Amazon, not Netflix.

Day 8 Today was a sad day for me.  It began very well and I had aspirations of getting the remainder of my skills over 80 while gathering some seeds for my favorite mechanic in this game.  Plants.  Things were going very smoothly and I even swapped to a bokuto because Lumberjacking was shooting way up.  I wanted the bokuto to try to get some tactics gains and catch that skill up.  Healing has fallen behind, which I originally expected.  It's just the nature of the skill with the fewer skill checks in my opinion.  Anatomy has shot up to 90.

Eight Ball helped me out with some poppies dust to ID the seeds.  I was really after some campions and ferns of the 4 colors the boglings dropped.  I even got a blue Tribarrel seed, which I was super hyped about since they're bugged.  Thank you Eight Ball.

Growing bored, I decided to go for some Efreets in Ilsh.  On the way to the efreets I found a Paragon Earth Elemental and a Paragon Imp.  A Lich wandered close and I, much to my surprise, quickly killed that as well with no trouble.

The Efreet spawn I enjoy had a paragon.  I could not defeat this one.  I even tried chugging strength and dexterity potions.  It's health dropped, but not a lot and the time was passing a lot.  The paragon was unable to kill me, but I did not foresee me killing it anytime soon.  I'd probably still be fighting it and bandages were dropping quick.

I decided to go to an old favorite to play since I could kill liches and I could kill earth elementals.  I decided to go to Blackthorn's Dungeon.  In the past, this was one of my favorite places.  It is up there with memories similar to Despise and Fire Isle.  I spent a lot of time killing gold elementals, liches, evil mages, balrons, and it was even my favorite place for taming greater dragons because of the nearby hitching post.

The dungeon is EMPTY.  I'm not usually prone to emotional outbursts, but this really brought a tear to my eye.  So much enjoyment and this place is just empty? How are people getting Blackthorn artifacts? This was a great dungeon.  I just had to log off.  That was too much.  I'll try to figure out a new adventuring spot tonight, but I'm very disappointed.  How can ya'll just empty out a whole dungeon with so much good content?

The captain's are there. Call out in chat and maybe a group will help you. You get 1 to 3 drops per captain when with a group.  Much better than the spawn.
1 city  will get you 40 to 50 artifacts if they don't kill the lighthouse until all captains are dead.
#34
I just tried one of those invasions.  I couldn't get many to pull solo, but managed to kill a chaos demon.  I had a bone demon low but apparently I drug it too far away because it popped back.  When I went to go pull another one they just seem to pull as a group.

I'm not quite ready for those, yet.  I'll poke around the players in chat to see if anyone wants to do some if I see some activity in the future.

I went to Tokuno to adventure and tried the evil mages, but I'm terrified of the Rune Beetles Deadly poison around there.  The evil mages weren't hard at all though.  I was headed for Fan Dancer Dojo. I'm sure I could do well in there, but I probably need a demon slayer.  I'll try to hunt one up first.  There wasn't one on Vendor Search.

On the way back I killed a Tsuki Wolf which was pretty good because they had a larger HP pool so not too bad for training.  I got a lot of healing in too for those gains.
#35
Day 9  I'm taking a break today.  I may log in occasionally to see if something catches my attention or someone is doing something, but other than that I'm just going to relax.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.

#36
Day 10, I began the day fighting Liches north of the Hag and that went well.  I may end up there again tomorrow.  After saying g'luck to the Pax Lair group going White Net tossing I went for Daemons in the Hedge Maze.  It was pretty safe for me there, but the Imps are sooooooo annoying and well, impish.

I went back to Ilsh to try my Efreet spawn and was doing alright, but then another Paragon spawned.  I'm not sure what it is about them, but they are so beefy.  I got a lot of gains off it and that's great, but I just cannot kill them fast enough.  Their physical resist must go through the roof as paragons.  I'm really missing Chivalry for the hitting best damage type.

I managed to get over 80 in all skills.  If you see me wandering around and need a resurrection, just call me wandering healer Feigr.  I'll resurrect you.

Today’s Recommendation: A stat stone that works like Mythic Token's stat function.  Useable once a day.  Stats are easy to manipulate and it would just save time.  Maybe a good store item.

Favorite Moment This Session: Seeing everyone gathered to go adventuring for White Net toss.

Favorite Player Seen: Zoogi, goblins are awesome.

For macros the wiki has the main page
and a few further examples here

I would be happy to add more examples if players would send them to me mariah4broadsword@gmail.com

For Efreets without paragons, try their original spawning area, the furthest end of Delucia Passage, behind Undead City in Lost Lands.
You have already discovered Tsuki wolves, I find them really good for training.

Day 11 I went back to Liches today and saw a pre-AOS returning player in the chat.  Welcome back Nix!!! I even got a shoutout. I'm internet famous now...

Those liches almost killed me today.  I was about to pull out what little bit of hair they had left for it.  They just have a great spawn that's tough to get 1v1 fights consistently.  The resist spells is really coming in handy to shake off the poison they do.  The gains are great there too.  Still no death robes for me.  *Knocking on every tree in the woods.*

Liches still have a laugh that is creepy.  That is 10/10 evil laugh in video games for sure.

I'm getting some better magic items so I dropped a vendor at my house.  I don't really expect to sell a lot, but I am disheartened to search Vendor Search and not see items I thought would be common.  I'll probably put up some slayers for non-axes/swords and other loot that I think looks "clean" or good for training.  The shop is off to a great start currently.  The fee is near zero because there's zero items on it.

I've reached Seeker of Honor.  I had stopped getting gains on Earth Elementals, but Liches are working.  It's the only virtue I've started working though.

I'll probably play some more tonight.  Things are getting lonely in game so if any guilds are recruiting let me know.  Maybe Nix will stick around and we can group up a lot.

Thank you very much Marge for the articles.  There isn't a lot there in the macro section though and I'd love to hear more from people.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Nix: A mud elemental taught me that.

Biggest Bug Encountered: Small one, very small.  Running left from this position just a single spot consistently rubber bands me.  This is just outside of New Haven on the way to the Moongate.  I seem to naturally hit this same dang spot EVERY TIME.  I wouldn't bother with it, but it's my mountain to make out of a mole hill. Today's Question: What are the common UO Discords? A general one and a specific Chesapeake one?

Would like more answers for this one..

What are some EC macros you all think are useful?

Today’s Recommendation: Give Resist Spells the same level of poison resist as orange petals at GM, if not better.

Favorite Moment This Session: Chatting with Nix about the old dungeons and changes.

Back in my day, we had Halberds of Vanquishing and terrible packet loss and WE LIKED IT!

Hey again, Feigr.  Thanks again for the kind welcome back.  Look forward to continuing to read your journal and crossing paths with you on Chessy.

It wasn't me with the articles - that was Mariah. I know absolutely nothing about EC and its macros. But if Moderators get paid, then yes yes that was me. lol

If you are on around 9est, we have the Pax meeting tonight. Come by and visit and we can help with finding a guild for you. 🙂
#41
I'll be there!

Sorry Mariah.  These eyes are getting old and I had bad Lasik.

You can go to Atlantic on weekends and a Guild will make you slayer weapons and someone can take them to your shard. There are 2 that do Crafting for NOOBs.

I played quite a bit tonight and did end up joining DWxC.  Thank you and Pax Lair for having me.

I also took Pawain's earlier advice and went with Chivalry.  I bought some 5000 sovereigns and used em on two Soulstones so far.  I moved off Alchemy.

I'm debating the new player pack, Holy Sword, Mythic Token, or some garden beds right now, but I'm also okay with just sitting on the remaining 3000 sovereigns.

I sold all my treasure maps gathered so far.  Thank you Scarlett! If I cheated you in the price it was unintentional.  I wasn't sure how to tell the levels and when I vendor searched to get a price I thought 10k each was good.

The new player pack will give points for Blackthorns dungeon and give you a week of increased skill gains via a token.  Rest of the stuff is not so great.

Save the mythic token for a Mage/weaver/tamer.

Most T maps give out more than 10K gold. So, the buyer was not shorted.

You could try Pinco's UI for the EC.  It adds a lot of functionality to the EC and has a number of pre-made macros that you can import.  The Discord for Pinco's is  https://discord.gg/uRxMMn6h

Day 12  Someone marked a rune for me to my house.  I'm ashamed to say I didn't catch their name.  I bought a runic atlas and with the rune to my house and the Luna house with a small library I can pretty much get anywhere.  There's still some danger of me dying where the runes send me and not being able to get back, but I'm pretty confident in the Daemon spawn in Hythloth.

I spent a while in there and it's not too bad.  I lured one Daemon out of the room and just fight the other one at a time.

Chivalry isn't growing fast and I do regret skipping it earlier against Pawain's advice.  It would have been nice to level it with the others.  Once swordsmanship is GM I'm going to swap to archery.  I'll also drop Lumberjacking maybe for Bushido.  That's the plan right now, but it's pretty far off.

I need a mage as well so that'll be an immediate goal soon.

Tonight was the EM event...  I'm not sure if the story is spoiler territory.  Do all shards get the story  or is it spoiler to talk about?  Well anyways, when I first got into the part where we fought stuff it was pretty fun.  I was getting poisoned, but I wasn't dying.  Fast Forward 10 minutes and it's death robe city.  I went from 0 death Feigr to not even being able to walk a couple feet after getting resurrected.  It was hard to find my corpse.  I was parasiting off the corpses people weren't picking clean and getting in some attacks where I could.  The final boss, I couldn't even get looting rights on.  I'm not sure what more is expected of people or if not max players are allowed to play.

I'd have been fine without a Event drop, but to not even get looting rights on the corpse made me feel like I wasn't even in the rolling for an event drop.  It did not give me a good feeling.  I did enjoy seeing all the players.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I'm going to change this one to another topic when one comes to mind.  Tongue in cheek bug for today is War Axes still being maces.  It's been decades.  Time to fix.

Today's Question: What are the requirements to being eligible for an event drop?

Today’s Recommendation: Make a percentage health damage event mob instead of mobs that kill everyone in one hit.  It's just not fun.

Favorite Moment This Session: The EM event and seeing everyone gathered at the EM house waiting for it to start.

I was also going to recommend Pinco's UI. It makes UO life so much better and he's been doing a lot of updates lately.

So yeah, that and mix it up if you get bored with maybe fishing, cooking, mibs and treasure hunting. It's a great way to get your clean up points and stuff to sell. I also enjoyed High Seas when I returned, but anyway good luck and thanks for sharing your adventures! B)

#49
Quite a few of us didn't get looting rights last night - even if we don't get a drop we usually have looting rights. Mass Death is pretty much all that is expected - and I agree - getting one shot is not fun. There is one 'drop night' a month and that's pretty much how they all are now. The rest of the Em Events for the month have more of a story and are a bit more fun. To be eligible for the drop, you need to have looting rights. It's random among those players who gets it. I believe there are usually about 20 drops given out.
Oh also, each shard has their own EM that create their own stories and events. Each shard is different - so feel free to discuss. 🙂

Day 13 I didn't play much today.  I did make a run for Daemons in Hythloth again.  Loot from Daemons just isn't that great.  I'm getting more fame and karma, but I think Liches give better loot.  Loot seems to lose durability a lot faster than I remember.  I'm pretty close to needing to replace my helmet.  It's got some great resists though.
I'm not playing as much today because I've got to review Loop Hero for some viewers.  I've actually been having a lot of fun with it.  There is a demo on Steam.  It's got unique mechanics.  I'm going to buy it when it's released later.
Larisa on Stratics has been posting some new pics of the fountains and they look super great.  I like that you can dye them and the water in the container looks amazing.  I'm not going to buy it because I have other more important things in mind, but I think they look great.
I'm getting close to GM in most skills.  I'll be swapping out the skills mentioned before and going for an archer template.  I can't wait.  The EM event was disheartening and while I love making unique templates, I do want to be efficient as well.  I wish there was more balance, but understand the difficulty.

Edit: Oh, I submitted a book to Jepeth's library.  "Taming the Walrus" I had a huge story in my head, but the books in game are tough to edit and it capped out at 20 pages.  It's very hard to edit the books though so after an hour I just submitted it.  If there's good feedback we might hear more from The Walrus and Blougi.

What I Watched While Playing: Syfy put the first two episodes of their new show Resident Alien on Youtube.  Relative to having just two episodes, it's a slow build to appreciate.  But it's fun.  It hooked me by wanting to see the relationships develop.  Especially between the main protagonist and a child.

Thank you for submitting the book! I've got it in my stack of books to read, red leaf seal, and then add into the collection. Look for it in the Player Tales 3 shelf.

Also, you can get 100 and 200 page books with different art and which can be dyed! They are craftable by scribes now. Let me know if you'd like some and I'll throw a few on my vendor.

I haven't officially announced the contest on the forum but that book will be an entry for you in the book drive contest.

Thanks man.  I did red leaf it.

Day 14 Boredom is setting in.  I'm gonna take the weekend off I think.  I did grind some daemons again today, but still getting junk for loot.  I think I was even getting stronger stuff off the earth elementals in New Haven mine.  I can't seem to find a replacement for the helm I got off them at the very least and it's durability is so low it is orange after every run.
I got the Trump Cupid.  I had zero issues in Fel. I even ran back this afternoon just make sure I wasn't nuts.  Still no one there.  The graphic on it is pretty good.  I like it.  I liked the statue area as well.
Chivalry is very slow to rise.  It's a bit annoying, but we'll get it there.  I checked in chat a couple times to see if anyone was up to anything and didn't get responses.
I checked Vendor Search for some slayers and they're all priced in the millions for the swordsmanship ones I was looking for.

Today's Question: None today.

Today’s Recommendation: None today.  I had fun.  I thought the event was alright for just a clicky thing.  I'm not sure it's worth $15 a month if the only content outside of the base game is getting killed by an EM repeatedly, not getting looting rights at the end, and then getting a small graphic for the holiday.  Not to be nitpicky, sorry.

Unless the helm is 'brittle' you should be able to improve it's durability by application of Powder of Fortification.

I have looked for you a few times.  We can certainly solve the helmet issue.  Jade/Troll/Frog Girl Meli/Succubus  Any of those are likely to be me.

The return!!! I'm back.  I've been back for a week now.  I've been hanging out on Chesapeake still and enjoying everyone's company.  I've been having a great time again.  I still have the opinions I have shared, but this game is still fun.  The players are amazing.  I'm going to pick back up as if it's "Day 15", but realistically it's probably like Day 30 at this point.

Day 15, I've been gathering eggs diligently.  A few people have helped me complete my candle collection.  I'm working on butterflies now, but may swap to parrots before finishing the butterflies.  There are just so many rare colors of butterflies according to UO-cah.  That site is new to me.  Not sure if it were around before.  Is UO Guide no longer being updated?

https://imgur.com/gallery/jpnzaNh

This is my collection so far.  The candles are complete.  I've also bought a mythic token and EJ token.  I used the mythic token for a tamer character.  I boosted taming, lock picking, magery, fishing, and imbuing.  These aren't all going to be on one character.  I'll soulstone them around.  In fact I put lockpicking on a character and dumped every other skill.  An alliance member made me a GM tinker box and I'm just gonna grind it with daily skill gains.

I moved my house since the last one fell and someone now occupies that spot.  I moved it next to the PaxLair Tea House.  Still a great spot and very close to a moongate.  My current skills are below.  They're progressing nicely.

https://imgur.com/a/LZPWp1o

My attitude from before was wrong.  I think I need to focus less on playing UO the way I did decades ago and focus on trying to get into content released later.  I'm going to aim for High Seas content first and that's why I'm grinding out the tamer.  I'll likely swap Feigr to a sampire.

I truly wish the skill system were better utilized though and more templates were viable.

err. Uo has very deep game content and so if dive a bit deeper, its quite easy to fill up this part of your daily report. Or you can try this forum:

Day 16  Just been gathering eggs.  I'm getting gold rolling with it and even managed to barter my way into a 120 Magery scroll.  Thanks Scarlett! I've been playing with a lot of great players and hanging out.  Scarlett, Egg Foo Young, Blue Martian, Eight Ball, Violet.. We've been trading candles and butterflies.  Among many other people, sorry if I didn't mention you.  I really enjoy this event.  I think adding eggs to the champ spawn and having the champ spawn to do in addition to it is just great.  I think the champ spawn is sufficiently difficult too.  I can actually live even with my melee template.  It's hairy in some places and butt clenching, but still fun.

I saw someone's house she had converted from a keep, that's amazing.  I knew you could do it, but that level of customization was just awesome.  She's collecting butterflies and has this neat altar with a guard of statues with flowers.  It was really pretty.  I wish I could remember her name or had gotten a screenshot.  I'll have to be better at that.

On the High Seas front I got my animal taming and animal lore to 90.  Magery is also at 90.  All of them are also 120 scrolled.  I got a mastery level 1 book for training and the EJ starter suit for mana.  I'm hoping to get that to 120 this week and get a pet bonding.  My character is a gargoyle so the jewelry to get a pet going now is expensive.  I kind of want to train a Tsuki wolf for a pet, but not sure how that'd go.  A almost pure black one had spawned next to my house.

Day 17  Got the nice message below!

This was a great treat to log into. Thank you! I've got to get used to checking the mailbox flag.  I will definitely find a use for all these goodies.

Last night we had a PaxLair meeting.  It's always amazing seeing all the players gathering and having some ribbing fun.  Today I just did more of the same.  I really am addicted to egg hunting.  I've got two rare butterflies and one rare parrot. But other than that, I've collected all the commons except one parrot.  I need to find more perches.

I've been goofing off with the same usual people in chat and having some good trades.  No powerscrolls today, but someone is buying my stuff on the vendor every night.  Thank you! I hope you enjoy.  It's getting me some gold flow.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: This wasn't in chat, but I had a sincere LOL belly laugh over this one.  Dragging a book into my pack was curious. LOL Well played.

Biggest Bug Encountered: None today.  Good job.

Today's Question: None, but if someone wants to take me out on some high seas adventures I wouldn't say no.

Today’s Recommendation: Make mongbats dangerous.  Again? Maybe they never were, but a dangerous mongbat would be funny.  Make it like a paragon spawn where every now and then a Greatest Mongbat spawns and it starts as something as strong as the grizzlies from the spawn but if possible scales based on the number of mongbat corpses around.  Would just be funny to get smacked by a strong mongbat.

Favorite Moment This Session: It's just been fun trading around egg goods and hearing about people's collections.  Eight Ball is missing a rare butterfly and Scarlett a rare parrot.

Day 18 More eggs! I got a lot more rare butterflies.  I need two rare parrots and five rare butterflies.  I got an extra rare red parrot that no one wants to trade.  I think it's one of the least "rare".

Scarlett, Slug, and Nanoc got me started on the prerequisites for the Zippy questline.  Slug had almost finished the spawn by the time we got there.  I killed like two humanoids.  I've picked up the quests to get the components of the tinker's quest.

We ran Navery three times.  No tangle though.  It was still great fun.  I thought I remembered the ceiling falling or something the last time I did it.  Someone must have been doing the switches or something.  I didn't notice it last night.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Chat has been kind of quiet.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I can't replicate it and I don't know if my eyes were deceiving me, but when I got Hue 2733 rare butterfly it did not have the same look it does now until I moved it around in my pack.  It almost looked like a common and I was confused with the hue ID.  This one could just be user error though.

Today's Question: None today! Had fun.

Today’s Recommendation: There's a lot of EM items.  I even got a pet goat last night while doing Navery from an old statue.  Ya'll should do an event where there's a bounty on EM items left in the world and clean them up.

Favorite Moment This Session: Just hanging out with guildies/alliance.

Day 19 I've completed my butterfly collection! I just need the 2758 parrot to complete parrots.  I'll move on to hedges next.  The alliance ran Artio last night and I got the human version of the sash.  It was great fun.  Egg Foo ressed me a couple times and I just stayed near him.

Eight Ball and I are competing for that Green Parrot.  He's finished his hedge collection already while I'm wasting eggs trying for RNG.

I did an IDOC for the first time last night.  I don't know how it was before but now it's a 11 out of 10 experience.  I think ya'll did a great job on that system.  It was fun and felt very fair.  I had a blast.  I got a lot of stuff and crates I turned in at Buc's Den.  I got a .1 SW SOT.  I got a full set of the Royal Taste Tester armors, including the rare.  I got about 50k of Cleanup point items.  I turned in two empty bags that looked like they spilled out flour and it gave me 30k.  I probably destroyed something important.

The most significant thing, to me, that I got was Mark of the Destroyer.  I could definitely use that.  I also got a miner's satchel and passed a few MIBs to an alliance member.

The house had eggs in it.  Which was odd?

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: One of the recommendations below came from her when she was trying to help me.

Biggest Bug Encountered: Here's a pic of the bug I mentioned before.  It's still up and looks alive, but you can't attack it or interact.  It has no life.

Today's Question: How could an IDOC have eggs in it?

Today’s Recommendation: This event could have used better stacking of same hue/design eggs.  I think stacking is a simple mechanic that saves players a lot of hassle and just wanted to point it out because sometimes it's overlooked.  This is not a recommendation I came up with on my own as it was brought up in the chat today as well.

Another recommendation would be to change the name of iron ingots to add an additional word that can be used to better search in Vendor Search.  As it is today, "iron" brings back more than just iron ingots because they all have iron in the name.

Favorite Moment This Session: Getting all my butterflies.

Favorite Player Seen: Karana, she says her and her mother turned in over 1500 eggs yesterday! Crazy.  She also gave me one of the rare parrots I was missing.

"Today's Question: How could an IDOC have eggs in it? "

Most likely it was someone who got caught cheating; account was banned and house was put into idoc. I ran into an idoc during the wildfire event that was packed with turn in drops.

Biggest Bug Encountered: Here's a pic of the bug I mentioned before.  It's still up and looks alive, but you can't attack it or interact.  It has no life.

Yeah, the targeting bug remains a problem. Besides the ghost which forces us to relogin, we are still targeting our summons, pets, when it is not supposed to.

If targeting is not a critical issue that affects every players adventure, I don't know what else is top priority.

Oh we know some house in an unknown corner of the world is top priority.

Day 20 I'm gonna ask NANOC or team to put a crafter into the guild for me.  I'm really feeling working on the crafting skills over the weekend.

I'm working on hedges now as far as eggs.  I'm very intimidated on collecting all the eggs and I think I'm going to skip it.  Maybe if I had been smarter about it I would have done it from the beginning, but I didn't. I've just been helping others on the server get their collections going.  The eggs take up a lot of lockdowns too.  Some are very pretty, but I can't imagine what I'd do with eggs.

I'm gonna try to spreadsheet out some builds and equipment sets to be more organized like Waffles.

Thanks Marge for the previous answer! I don't give you shout outs enough in here, but I've enjoyed playing with you a lot too!
---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: I'm gonna change this section of my daily.  I'm thinking of making it a thought provoking/joke question.  I asked last night and got serious answers, but what do you do? Do you make your custom house doors open in or out?

Biggest Bug Encountered: This one isn't so much a bug as it is annoying.  Hawkwind will not take no for an answer.  I think the 2nd confirmation is unnecessary, at least at this point.  But design decisions aren't my forte.  I'm assuming you all wanted to make sure people knew how important it is because it's around the new mastery feature.

Today's Question: For collection purposes, do you keep the parrots as the bird in your pack or do you perch them?

Today’s Recommendation: I haven't completely thought out my next recommendation, but I'm looking at the abilities for the next few I make.  I really think a balance pass needs to be made on a lot of the melee skills for PVE.

Favorite Moment This Session: Trading for my last needed parrot.

Favorite Player Seen: Karana traded me my last parrot and Homer traded Eight Ball a parrot.

What I Watched While Playing: I'm watching Waffles McGreggor on Twitch.  He really got me interested in returning and his oldest video on Youtube pretty much sums up my feelings exactly the same in the first few thoughts he has.  I'm looking forward to NL.

Day 21  I visited Corwyn's Library yesterday in Trammel Yew.  It's amazing.  It looks like a great library.  The amount of books were overwhelming. I'll definitely revisit when I have some time to read some history.

The Tea House for PaxLair has a lot of useful things I'm finding.  A lot of runes and house teleporters to useful places.  This is a super good bonus to having it next to my house.

Today I mostly still just hunted eggs and such.  I chatted the usual group Eight Ball, Homer, Scarlett, Karana, etc.  I haven't seen Blue Martian in a couple days though.

I did complete my collection! Picture below.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Homer robbing people in Fel.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I tried to trade 100 eggs with another player to complete their collection.  They had 100 eggs in a bag and I had 100 eggs in a bag.  The max items a character can carry is 125.  I could not trade my bag to them because it would overcap them.  They could not trade with me because it would overcap me.  I think the check for if it would overcap a player should be done post trade.

Today's Question: Any good guides on why luck suits are important?

Items I'm Hunting: *New Section* Daemon Bone Helm and Daemon Bone Gloves for my vendor.

Today’s Recommendation: Every stat screen needs an export button that just copies the stat screen.  Screens like character stats, the skill tracker, animal lore, etc.  Just a button that copies.  A player can then paste it wherever they want.  Excel, txt, etc.  There's an export item list button that seems similar.

Favorite Moment This Session: My collection is complete! I'm not going for every egg.  They would take too many lockdowns.

Favorite Player Seen: Hang out with Eight Ball quite a bit.

What I Watched While Playing: Been watching Waffles McGregor's old streams.

We use beetles to trade like that. Make your beetle his friend.

Or y'all could have gone somewhere alone and dropped the bags on the ground since neither of you could hold them all.

Congratulations on your collection 🙂

Generally speaking, luck gives a boost to loot.

Day 22  I've swapped to my tamer Slatra to train animal taming.  I'll use my tamer for High Seas content.  I prioritized animal taming so I can get some pets bonding.  I really love the UO-cah site too! So I'm very interested in getting into that content and training a pet.  I put a bag o'eggs on my vendor to try and keep the cash flow going while I train taming.

Shard crashed at what I think of as peak gaming hours.  8:30pm ish.  I think some of the guild were doing Blackthorns too.

I did manage to get taming up to 105 today! So woohoo.  The new taming system looks interesting but a lot of pets were updated in CC and not EC.  The Tsuki Wolf is still looking good for my first pet until I get used to the system.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: You ready your pet for combat, increasing its battle effectiveness! for about 10 hours.

Biggest Bug Encountered: This one is from EC.  I was making a macro with the combat training mastery and delay.  I made it repeat 10 times, but I also kept inputting the commands in addition to the repeat.  After you get it past 5-6 commands, the box graphics kind of keep extending in the background as shadow buttons.

Today's Question: Is Mac short for macaroni or an acronym for Macaroni and Cheese?

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Animal Taming primer 3 for consume.

Today’s Recommendation: Make a bounty system for wiki articles/items.  Maybe offer sovereigns? I wasn't able to find some of the items I got from the IDOC.

Favorite Moment This Session: I sold 100 common eggs for 10 mil.

Favorite Player Seen: Lex (Leviathan) and Marge gave me some stuff.  I got the daemon bone gloves from Marge and Lex passed me a couple 15 minute Animal Lore alacrity scrolls.

What I Watched While Playing: I watched a lot today.  I'm currently watching Angel season 4.  But I also watched some Youtube.  Girlfriend Reviews did a second vid on Elden Ring.  I think all gamers should play the game and try to enjoy it at least to the point of beating the first boss Margit.  It does take a lot of willpower to get into it, similar to UO.  There's a lot the game doesn't tell you and you have to gather from the net, but you can also just goof your way through it very slowly.  It's difficult and beating Margit is truly a great feeling.

Animal taming is incredibly draining and boring.  I'm gonna take a couple days from the daily logs and just work it to 120. Sorry, it wouldn't make for great stuff anyways as I'm just sitting here and watching Angel while fighting the idle warning boss.

You need to prepare for the upcoming Dynamic Dungeon.  Now is a good time to get your skills up and have toons ready to kill.  Will begin after the 22nd.

I do have a relevant question to UO now that I think about it and before I start the journal again...

Lex gave me 30 minutes worth of Animal Lore Alacrity scrolls.  When should I pop them for the most returns? I don't want to use them too early or too late.

I've thought a while on how to respond to you Frodo.  The tone of your post made me think it as accusatory.  I did not want to respond defensively and call you names.

My first post is accurate and in no way misleading.  I come and go from this game pretty frequently.  The account I'm posting and playing on is over a year old in total.  Every character on this account is new.  When I return to the game, sometimes, I like to start over.  I've made a commitment to myself that Feigr and characters I create on Chesapeake will be permanent.

I'm looking forward to NL very much and I would like to establish a home community shard.  Chesapeake is and always will be my favorite shard.  I  enjoy everyone on the shard.  I even find some enjoyment with the less savory of players on the shard.

All but the smallest amounts of gold have been obtained since post # 1 of this video and I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say I've amassed so much.  The house I've posted pictures of is empty of everything except efreet chests and Spring holiday items. The only gift I haven't mentioned was from hong kong.  He gave me a mil to customize the house after I placed it next to the Tea House.

In 2018 I had a small streaming audience of just under 1000 viewers.  I mostly streamed Warcraft 1 and 2 content to get a small audience going when it was released  on GOG.  Some of the viewers were interested in me playing Ultima because GOG gave away free copies of a few of the games.  I swapped between Rimworld and Terraria as well.

Feeling that UO was a good mix of sandbox and Ultima from my youth... I jumped into UO.  It did not go well, but I tried to play for a while after off stream.  It became too much to balance and I wasn't enjoying it while playing other games.  It was too much time sitting at a computer.  Especially with my day job also being at a computer.

I no longer stream except with friends on Discord.  I cut out a lot of hobbies from my life because I tried to do too much and never got good at any of them.  Today I read and I play UO as a hobby.  UO also let's me do other things because it's a very passive game.

I didn't owe you this thought out reply to what I consider a argumentative post, but you are right.  I don't think my first post insinuated some long hiatus, but in case there is any misconception for people worth talking to, I have played UO before.  I enjoy UO.  I've never been good at it.  I did not do all content in 2018.  I still have questions. I mostly like melee templates and I've refused stubbornly to make a "sampire."

I am excited for NL and I see a possible outcome of it being what I've always thought should happen with UO.  So I'm playing the game and supporting.  I think the players on Chesapeake are amazing people and I want to play with them as well.

Day 23 I took that break and trained taming/lore. It was very boring and mostly just me watching TV and making sure the idle timer boss didn't disconnect me.  I tamed a gaman and we became intimate over the course of a few days.  I wish combat training stacked.  I lored all over this gaman.  To celebrate getting to 120 I named him Betty.  I do plan on training him up to a 4 slot.  According to UO-cah he's in the 200% range of intelligence at 75.

The last two days weren't uneventful.  We did have a PaxLair meeting and PaxLair grouped up for some more Navery.  Both events were fun and very enjoyable.  The goblins are always the highlight for me.

I feel bad about acknowledging a negative post in this thread and wanted to step away from that and acknowledge the other replies I got that were helpful.  I did read your replies and they were indeed very helpful.

Thank you dvvid, TXEggplant, Pawain, Stingard, Mariah, McDougle, Marge LOL, Jepeth, and Drakelord.  All have been useful.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat:

Biggest Bug Encountered: This one was useful to me, but I think it was unintended.  When I macro'd Animal Lore in EC with delay commands to cycle Animal Lore, Delay 2 Seconds, Animal Lore, Delay 2 seconds... etc.  The gump for animal lore would not come up.  This allowed me to get gains without closing the animal lore gump.  Doing this manually would give me a wait message until I close the gump.  With the macro, the gump won't even pop up.

Today's Question: None, thank you!

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Animal Taming primer 3 for consume.

Today’s Recommendation: I'm going to do a repeat.  I can't understate how much I'd like a stat stone like I recommended before.

Favorite Moment This Session: Getting to 120 Animal Taming and 120 Animal Lore could not beat finally naming the gaman that helped me do it and putting it in the stable to bond.

Favorite Player Seen: Hung out a lot with Lex.

Day 24 Last night I solo tamed a tsuki wolf hue 1175. It took me a while to get one to spawn.  I killed a lot with Feigr and then swapped to Slatra to tame when one spawned.  The spawn is right next to my place so it wasn't too bad.

I then went on a taming spree and solo tamed a dread spider, rune beetle, and GREATER DRAGON.  The greater dragon was definitely the highlight for me.  I first tried destard, but it was too packed.  I went to the Valor shrine and ran along the mountains until I found a solo greater dragon.  I energy bolted it down to 50% health, which took a while needless to say.  It's breath attack was almost killing me and getting poisoned was no bueno.  Once at 50% I spammed my tame button until I saw the begin taming message.  It took a while to get used to the distance.  It's hard to really tell with gargoyle so I landed and did it on foot.

I know people don't like Greater Dragons for good reasons, but it's a good pet for me to start with without needing to train it.  I can also use it to weaken other beasts and stable it before taming.

They're all in the stable now with Betty bonding.

I ran around with Feigr to gather another 100 eggs to sell.  People are wising up to the good spots though so it took about double the time it usually does.

I plan on working on Brokkr, my mule, while the pets bond.  I'm gonna get him to where he can make some cannons and supplies for High Seas.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: The chat was really moving last night, but I had to concentrate.  I didn't watch chat too much.  They were doing Grizzled or something and I know much fun was had.

Biggest Bug Encountered: This atrocity needs to be made a priority.

Today's Question: How does the bonding timer work exactly? I remember sometimes it would take me nine days to get a pet bonded and other times eight, but it never felt like seven.

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Taming Primer 3.

Today’s Recommendation: Add stable slots to character menu.

Favorite Moment This Session: Solo taming a greater dragon!

Favorite Player Seen: Scarlett

Bonding timer is exactly 7 days. Feed the pet. I rename them like MonSevenTenPM. Feed it again at that time or later and it is bonded. Only thing that would increase it would be a shard revert.

Yup, it was submitted several years ago.

Day 25 I tamed a Fire Beetle solo.  It was pretty hard with a gargoyle because I couldn't just jump on and ride it out.  I "stayed" the beetle and ran out.  Logged in and out at my place.  Someone said to invis it too and I'll probably do that next time.  Borganne helped me transfer the fire beetle to my mule and it's bonding now.

I got mining to 75 on the mule.  I'm mostly going to get ingots from pirates, but I do find leveling mining soothing.

I joined the Auction last night and got two spellbooks.  One undead slayer for 300k.  Another Corgul's was going for 100k, but someone outbid me for 200k.  I vendor searched and found it for 100k.  I also bought 9 or 10 rare eggs for 2 mil.  I was able to immediately sell one of the 9 or 10 for 1 mil.  I'm pretty sure I can sell at least another few for at least a mil.

People were bidding like crazy on the Spring stuff last night.  Even the commons.  I was strongly tempted to grab my sets and sell them.  I don't think perching the parrots was a smart idea.  You can't tell the colors of them when you axe the perches.  It probably would have been better to sell them unperched.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: The worst trash talking I've ever seen between PVPers.  It was hilariously bad.  I think one of them even apologized.  I'm not sure I've ever seen someone lose PVP in chat before.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I had niter deposits spawning in the mountains.  I had to control+shift to mine them.  Also mining them doesn't appear to give gains.  And the macro had a much weirder interaction with niter deposits than mining ore.

I was being more sarcastic with my last bug in saying it needed to be made a priority, in case it wasn't clear.

Today's Question: How're you pricing your items in UO?

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Taming Primer 3.

Today’s Recommendation: This one may be harder to implement than it's worth, but what about a mail delivery system? When mailboxes are secured give them an ID that people can see in the tooltip.  Players can put mail in their mailbox at their house and overnight it will be delivered to the addressed mailbox.  For a fee.  I dunno.. I thought about it because Scarlett left a dead body in my mailbox.  LOL

"I was being more sarcastic with my last bug in saying it needed to be made a priority, in case it wasn't clear."

You were right the first time! The EC paper dolls are horrendous! (not to mention my poor lovely llamas!) I dressed up Susan all cute one night for Auction and out of curiosity logged into EC to see how it looked it there. I shouldn't have; I still have nightmares of that atrocity. I don't know why the artist who designed the doll and the clothing in EC hated us so much. Once New Legacy is up and running this needs to be on their fix list.

Day 26 Killed a lot of efreets today to try to get a daemon bone skull.  I got a 2nd pair of legs and chest so far and a lot of treasure maps, but no skull helm.

I bought five more soulstones and swapped Swordsmanship and Lumberjacking for Fencing and Parrying to train those while killing efreets.  They were GM'd.

Rav helped me tame a Shadow Dragon.  It has max HP/strength almost, but it is just over 50% intensity.  Slugwarp was doing a treasure chest and let me tame a cold drake off it.  I've got them bonding now.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Not much going on in chat.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I keep hearing the healing jingle.  I'm alone in my house, I'm dead, I'm in the middle of nowhere.  It keeps playing the jingle.  I've tried logging out for over an hour.  I've tried dying.

Today's Question: None.

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Taming Primer 3.

Today’s Recommendation: When I place items on my vendor in EC Grid Mode, CC users are telling me they can't see all the eggs because they are stacked on top of each other.  Maybe add a similar option to Vendor Search maps that opens the container.  "Buy item" or something like that.  A cc user can see it in vendor search and buy it through the map.

Favorite Moment This Session: Shadow Dragon taming with Rav.

Favorite Player Seen: Chatted with Isobel about shows and such.

What I Watched While Playing: Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, was alright.  Bunch of one-liners.  Not sure what I was expecting.  I also listened to some Paranormal Activity movies I'd already seen to kind of catch up before watching some newer ones.  And some Big Brother of course. Isobel recommended some Randonautica vids on Youtube, the one I found was silly.  But interesting if you like the kind of found video/urban exploration stuff.

Day 27 I sold a whopping 300 eggs yesterday.  I temporarily swapped out resist for forensic eval to begin working it.  The healer in New Haven only got it mid 20s for starting.  I couldn't find a judge or anyone to get it to 40. As far as I can tell the only way to raise it is to use eval on corpses .1 gain at a time.  It doesn't even gain every time in the 20s.  De struggle is real.  I got it to 32 yesterday.  I would have gone higher, but Artio was spawned and left.  Someone from the -G- guild cleared it later in the evening.  I'm going to try to tie the skill check in with a loot container macro of some kind today... hopefully that works.  Or maybe a scavenger for gold.

I decided on leveling forensic because I found SIX lost items in a row on my first rotation through my egg spawns.  It feels like the lost items spawn very slowly.  The whole virtue is a pain to raise.

Three houses were in IDOC yesterday.  They were all in a hidden valley in Malas.  The same valley.  It was a process trying to find how to get a rune.  I internet sleuthed that this one was found in Doom.  Thankfully an alliance member had a rune already and I didn't have to go down there.

Two were falling in the evening and one in the afternoon.  The first one netted me a Wizard's Hat.  It wasn't even magic.  The 3rd one was completely empty.  The 2nd one netted me a SOT of .6 Stealth, some Scrolls of Alacrity, a harpsicord, a banner of New Mag, a chaos tile, and a Tjenik gave me the cherry blossom tree he got.  Oh, I also got a lot of mysterious fragments.

The alliance fought Scalis yesterday.  I think Scarlett tossed 6 nets, but we only pulled one Scalis.  It killed my backup Greater Dragon while I'm waiting for the other one to bond.  We then went to the Sleeping Dragon spawn.  I got a couple death robes between level jumps, but the boss was silly easy.  I didn't get anything though.

Reading back through this... it was a pretty full day and I had fun.  I didn't watch much because of that.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: A lot, but I didn't capture much.  Sorry.

Biggest Bug Encountered: This mob's healthbar stayed at 100% for our whole fight. I'm training Fencing and not using spells so the fight lasted a while.  It did die though.

Today's Question: Is that Tabard quest thing for the mysterious fragments still active?

Items I'm Hunting: Daemon Bone Helm and Taming Primer 3.

Today’s Recommendation: Can anyone submit articles? I could not find information on the Banner of New Magencia.  I'm aware that players from that town's loyalty can get it now though, but I couldn't find anything on the Wiki or UO Guide.  I also struggled to find the Chaos Tile.  I'm pretty sure it's not too rare though?

Favorite Moment This Session: Just joking around the IDOCs with people.

Favorite Player Seen: I didn't write down the name, but there was a player at the IDOC with the hooded robe, but they had dyed it the hue of death robes.  They also had a gray 16th anniversary horse.

What I Watched While Playing: Not much.  There's this Minibricks youtuber I had playing a lot.  She does a lot of dioramas.  They look amazing.  I'm not huge on art, but I'd visit a museum of those things.

Day 29 I got my UI all set for characters.  I finished training lockpicking. It's 100.  That'll help with Forensic Eval because I can farm a bunch of paragon chests to rotate for gains.  I did 0 work on my organization other than the UIs.

Yesterday was the PaxLair meeting and to be honest I mostly just attended in body only.  A game I've been enjoying released an update and I was getting the added content done while watching the chat in UO.

I haven't replenished my egg stock for gold making.  I need to get inscription up and get some runebooks made.

Day 29 So I played more yesterday than ever because I was sick. I bought some Scrolls of Alacrity.  Lex gave me a couple as well.  I GM'd Inscription from 0 and I GM'd Alchemy from 81.  I spent 5 Mil on a recipe for Runic Atlas.

We also had the EM event.  Gotta admit that I'm disappointed in those events.  They'd probably be more fun without all the people just hanging around doing nothing but causing lag.  There's just a lot of people that show up to those things.  I prefer the PaxLair events.

The graphics on the bunnies and spell effects were cool.  The elementals as well.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Energizer Bunny! LOL Scarlett.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I bought a couple packies to hold scrolls as I pumped the vendors.  I encountered a bug a couple times where the packie's backpacks wouldn't open.  I tried multiple ways and they just never opened.  I had to run far from the bank and back for it to fix.

Today's Question: Where's Blue Martian been?

Today’s Recommendation: Currently when you search a bag with the bag search it won't let you buy from the results from a vendor.  I recommend allowing it.  As it is now, the search just confirms that the bag has the item you want.

Day 31 Today I mostly focused on trying to level up Forensics since it was easy.  Surprisingly, I mostly struggled to get to 41 skill in Forensics.  I pinked the last few points.  I then created a macro and skill checked a paragon chest all day while collecting eggs.  I got to stare at "This lock was picked by Eight Ball." all day.

I took a break and decided to slum it at my very first shard, Legends.  This was AOL Legends before.  I was happy to see that one of my favorite people to play with still had a house in the exact same spot I remembered.  Jove's spot south of the Yew gate.  But back in the day she was the first person I knew to have a large tower.  We met mining in Minoc and killing Earth Elementals in Despise.  She actually is one of the reasons UO always stuck with me because she showed me how to enjoy an overwhelming game and get my footing.

I bought five more soulstones.  My goal is to have every skill GM.  Taste ID is gonna be tricky I read.

I redesigned my house a couple days ago.  It's more minimalistic, but I like it.

Biggest Bug Encountered: That doesn't look like a scorpion...

Today's Question: None, thanks.

Today’s Recommendation: I understand Pincos can do this, but I think the base game should have either a hotkey or option to turn your corpse's name bar a color to make it easier to find in a pile.

Day 32 I made another character Nidingr.  This will be my thief.  He's unassociated with PaxLair as of yet so I'll miss out on some alliance chat til I see NANOC.  I'm training Hiding and Stealth first. Hopefully with Hiding I can soulstone it around to other characters.

I'm doing the quest for some crystal balls of knowledge today.  I think these are super useful.

Biggest Bug Encountered: Beginning today every time I log into Feigr I'm unable to open up the vendor at the house.  I have to cross server lines and come back.  This is unique to Feigr.  Other characters work.

Today's Question: What is Fur from Bouras for? Not pelts.  The yellow fur.  It's not the rectangle one.  I couldn't find this on UO Guide.  It just says "Yellow Fur" and no link.

Today’s Recommendation: Item Identification is currently a "useless" skill.  I think a cool idea would be the ability to use this to reroll stats on an item.  It will just reproc the RNG and give a same intensity magic item.  Nothing too OP, but could be fun.  Something that may need a keen balance eye that I also thought about was to combine it with Arms Lore and make it give a slight bonus to the subsequent results.

Favorite Moment This Session: Chat was hopping today.  Chesapeake chat is usually super chill too.  I love this shard.

Boura fur got when carving a corpse has no known use, just deco.  And yes, trying to access a vendor in war mode is not a good way to go 🙂

Day 33 I GM'd Tinkering today.  That was about it.  I did try to start training Betty, but it was very slow.

They did an eastern egg hunt yesterday, but I've gathered a bunch of eggs and didn't want to get greedy.  I didn't participate.

Day 35 I GM'd Carpentry today.  I watched a Gladius6_ on Twitch.  Today was really fun as well.  Chat was really moving.  We had a good time.  Can't understate how much better the chat is on Chessy than other servers I've been on.

I also watched some more of Waffles.  Finally got to see him live instead of a recorded vid.
The alliance ran roof, but I have been lazy about learning what that is.

I'm leveling Fletching now.  There were 5 SoAs on Vendor Search.  I'll prob pop them at 75.  I used to hoard SoAs like potions in Final Fantasy games and never use them, but I don't think I'll ever level anything again without at least one.  I don't know why they sell so cheap.  Unless you're over 100 they are pretty much a guaranteed 5.0 points.

Today’s Recommendation: Fix Tribarrel bug that makes the seed and any breeding into it random.  I didn't list this as a bug because previous players asked that this stay in, but I disagree. Or add a whole new seed that is actually a Tribarrel.

Since tri barrels are one of the least popular plants, you rarely would want them. You can get a seed from someone and self pollinate it to make 8 more.

They are one of the wheelbarrow plants so you can get a color flower on those.

Self pollination results in a random plant too.  And so does crossbreeding with tribarrel.  It makes completing the old plants difficult.

Which kind of illustrates my point... I don't think many players who voted to keep this bug know the impact.
#115
"I don't know why they sell so cheap."

They come from treasure chest and it doesn't take long to build up a supply. They come from maps supply on up; so just about all of them. There will be two sometimes three in a chest. The supply builds up quickly.
#116
I think I may need more input on the plants. I understood it was the ones just named 'a cactus' that resulted in the mutations? Other cactus types mutate too?
#117
Mariah said:

It's been a while since I tested it, but I'll go retest.  I know for sure that a self pollinating Tribarrel will not result in a tribarrel.

But I'll retest the rest.  I want to say a fern and a tribarrel will not result in a water plant either.

If you have a tribarrel, that is rarer than you may think.

#118
Are you letting them do their own pollinating or self pollinating manually?  Try both.

I'm thinking if you just leave them alone they make what they start as
#119
k, I took some tribarrel seeds to test center and used 'Grow_Plant' on them.
Tri Barrel allowed to self polinate produced tri barrel seeds. Tri barrel when crossed with another produced a single barrel cactus.
#120
It may be the colored ones I'm thinking about like doing a red and blue tribarrel for a purple.

Mine didn't work.  I'll retest.
#121
Feigr said:

Yes you have to let them self pollinate. Any pollination by you will not make the same as parent.

I'm sure someone has all the tribarrel colors on your shard. You just need 1 of each color to plant and leave for the whole cycle and you will have 8 seeds of each.

Also this bug is what allows us to get black and white of the "new" plants from tokuno. From the plant quest in the ant holes. Before you could get only the old types.
#122
The wheelbarrow plants look more realistic, you can dye the plain ones any plant color. They can come in rare colors.

I collect my 35 and put them in Luna I got 4 color ones this round usually I get 1 or 2.

Someone was snagging the ones they liked so all are not in the picture.

Most players without plants would probably like these more than the ones we grow.

#123
I like the plant system. I like the predictability and planning it out to get all the colors and types.  it was one of the few things with little RNG.  White and black was it.
#124
Thanks Violet I do appreciate the seeds VERY MUCH.  I find doing the plants soothing and easy to do while I'm paying attention in a meeting.  It's just one of those systems I'm passionate about.

These seeds will help me complete my collection though.  You're the best.

Day 36  Bought another 5 Soulstones.  I'm up to 19 now.  Why'd ya'll make the Enchanted Soulstone Vessel total items cap at 20? That's crazy.  58 or 59 would be the ideal IMO.  You've already eliminated the ability to abuse lockdowns by limiting it just to soulstones.

I did some more egg hunting because my eggs are selling.  Hunting down lost item owners is very hard.  In Trinsic there are spaces outside the wall and between water.  You'll never be able to turn into NPCs that are there unless there's a hidden wall or something.

And if it's in Britain, forget about it. LOL Just drop it in the bank.

I GM'd Fletching.  I GM'd Mining.  I'm leveling Cartography next.  I attended the PaxLair meeting and it's going to be an exciting week.  Oddly I'm looking most forward to the auction.  But everything sounds great.

I got the seeds Violet dropped off.  She gave me 2 of every color seed.  Or Colour if you prefer.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat:

Biggest Bug Encountered: At least in EC, when browsing a vendor and using Legacy Containers toggled on... the tooltip will not change as you move your mouse across multiple items.  The tooltip moves, but it will continue to read as if it's still hovering over the first item.  The items may need to be close together to replicate, but I'm able to get this bug to work 100% of the time.

Today's Question: Is there a good resource for what's going to happen in the next part of the event? I keep hearing about details but I am just piecing it together from word of mouth instead of reading it.  Is it dropping Friday?

Today’s Recommendation: Steal from Warcraft's latest announcement.  They steal things.  Make a commission based system where a person can place an order for a crafted item.  Instead of sellers selling everything, someone can put a commission out for it.  It doesn't even have to be crafting.  Maybe someone wants a +5 stat scroll.  Maybe someone wants a clean +20% Splintering weapon.  A person that likes to hunt normal monsters or craft can go try to find the items being commissioned and bought.  I really love this idea.

Maybe I want a Daemon Bone Skull.  I can put a commission up for 5 mil and someone can read it and go hunt for a couple of hours of fun.  I wake up to someone having gotten the skull for me.  They get the 5 mil.

Day 37 GM'd Cartography.  That started off so easy, but I burned every SoA on Chessy to get to 99.4 and use a .6 SoT.  That was terrible.  I thought it'd be a relaxing day today before moving on to Tailoring and Blacksmithing.  I got those 120 scrolls and I began Blacksmithing.  It's at 90 now.

I killed a few Miasma, but that mortal strike is a pain with pets.

Day 40 Been a busy few days.  I logged in to hear Leviathin struggling with an Eodon map and I grabbed Slatra and my greater dragon to go help.  That poisoning Dino is a real pain in the rear.  We managed it though!  Leviathin has given me a lot of scrolls and it was nice to finally help a bit.

Scarlett dropped off an Animal Taming mastery 3 book in my mail.  That was super nice.  I took it and began fighting Balrons in blood.  I like to have the "Lady/Lord" titles before I mark items.  So I did that and used consume on the Paragon Balrons.  It still took me 300 bandages to kill the paragon.

When I got "Lady" title I crafted all my characters Runic Atlas.  They're all set.  I set up a vendor for Slatra as well.

I took Slatra out on the High Seas.  The goal being to get her that slug pet.  I went out searching for pirates, but quickly found TWO beacons.  Grob showed me the ropes on the first one.  The 2nd one I messed up on a bit and took some damage, but it wasn't bad.  I took on a few merchant ships too.  Man the loot is great.

I haven't found any gold ingots yet though and I want to make a luck suit for Feigr.  I'm having a really tough time getting the Daemon Bone Helm from efreets.

I think today I'm going to do more High Seas.  I found it very fun.  I may even begin to dabble in Mysticism on a new character.

---

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Me and Leviathin Benny Hilling it on a Trove map in Eodon.

Biggest Bug Encountered: I encountered a few bugs and I'm going to list them all so I don't forget.  These are all High Seas related.

#1 You can't add to stacks in the cannon storage without taking one of the items out first.  It won't let you add to stacks when there are three items in the storage.

#2 Ship Tracking bugs out sometimes.  I can't figure out what causes it, but I caught myself sailing around for an hour trying to find ships.  Finally I told it to stop tracking and then start tracking again and it began working again.  It may be server line related.

#3 When merchant ships are moving, my shots missed even though my cannon was pointed right at them the entire duration of the firing.

Today's Question: I have this week long alacrity token I redeemed with Slatra, will it work with other characters I have or just Slatra?

2nd Question... I launched boat in Tokuno.  How do you get quests for things like the orc ship parts in Tokuno? Do I have to relaunch in Trammel or Facets? Is the market in Facets?

Today’s Recommendation: Remove player boats from boat tracking.

Favorite Moment This Session:  Doing a Beacon solo and one with Grob.  Getting a Taming Book 3 from Scarlett was really awesome too.

Favorite Player Seen: Met a player from Waffles_McGreggor's Stream and gonna see about getting her into the Alliance when NANOC is back during the meeting.

What I Watched While Playing: I watched a lot these last few days.  Lots of Amazon movies.  I watched Titanic.  First time I've seen it.  I get it now.  Was a great movie.  Holds up too.

For my recommendation, it was just pointed out to me that player PVP on boats still exists so tracking them is necessary.  I agree.

Drop the items on the cannon. Don't open it.
#137
You can party with any player and they will get accelerated gains from the 1 week Alacrity token. All party members have to be on the same screen for this to work. If your other character is on the same account, then it can’t be partied. Only the character that claimed the token on that account can use it. You can train skills on the character that has the Alacrity, then transfer the skills to another character on the same account. Also, the named books and Blessed suit will change names, if used by another character on the same account.
#138
Ship tracking needs toggles

The Quest guy is on the docks in Zento sitting on a bamboo stool near the bulletin board. It is faster to do the Quest in Tokuno - much less sailing time back and forth from quest guy to the pirate ship and back.
I'm guessing you meant Feluuca instead of Facets. There is a Sea Market on fel side. I would guess it has Pirate Quest guy but I never went there to find out - note my picture  - a big a$$ chicken.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Not much tonight.  People were doing stuff, but I was watching shows and killing pirates.

Biggest Bug Encountered: This one is definitely a bug. I can repeat it.  Just follow the steps below.

1) I pulled 250 Fuse Cords, 250 Powder Charges, and 250 Cannon Balls out of my hold.  This put me overweight.

2) I separated the Cannon Balls into a pile of 200 and a pile of 50 by pulling out 50 and putting them in my bag.  The remaining 200 stone cannon balls were no longer counted on my weight.  Everything remained in my bag.

Circled below are 400 stones of materials.

The gargoyle ships take a lot of shots and I've been doing beacons that do not have extra resources on them.  The pirate ships do refresh some, like 18, but if you're doing things in mass like I did yesterday you do run out.

Yes. They are called armor refinements. You can look them up and see what they do. It's part of crafting. it's got a lot of moving parts so it's probably better to look it up versus me trying to explain it!

They are also great for throw out points. It's better to toss them out as is versus combined up to the top level. You'll get more points.

I feel like refinements got lost in the imbuing thing. I've played around with it but, quite frankly, it all seems like a lot of math and I just hand my items over to the hubby for imbuing and refining and reforging and all that.

If you don't want to toss the refinements, I'll take them off your hands (it's Maith). I combine them up to Invulnerability and either sell them or give them to Atwix so he can mess with them when it comes time to make my character a new suit.
#150
Hey Maith, yea, I've been tossing them. Someone said that in game, probably you.  I was just curious if there was a good page on it. Wasn't sure what term to use when looking it up.

Correct.

Day 42 I've been training Galdr's Peacemaking/Musicianship.  I have an EC macro running and can just cycle it between idle timers while I watch shows.  I did check out Origin and the new event.

Origin's Luna was much prettier than Chesapeake.  I think there's some sensitivity over people asking for decorated cities, but man Chesapeake just looks so plain in comparison.  Such a shame for a shard full of such great people/customers.

I'm really having a great time.  I'm excited for the event.  Scarlett recommended marking some runes deeper in Destard and I did that.

Day 43 Was a busy day! Had a lot of fun.  We found out pretty early about the event going live.  I had some adulting to do so I went away for an hour, but by the time I returned the players on Chesapeake had it all figured out.  I stubbornly tried to play solo, not fully understanding, but a member of -G- insisted the method they were saying in chat was THE method.  And boy were they right.

I spent all day in there.  I got all the decorative artifacts.  I also got the cloak for Feigr and the most expensive title for Slatra.  I put the lore pages in a book as well.

I really enjoyed the books.  I am stoked ya'll added that colorful stuff to the books.  That was very nice.

I can't understate how happy I am that you all also added eggs to the options.  For me, it took a lot of tension off the dying in the dungeon just knowing there was another method to rely on in the end.  I do, however, think the things are too expensive.  I'm kind of on the fence on if I agree the expense creates exclusivity and increases worth of items.  I think in reality this puts pressure on people with less time.  I think an alternative, and people will hate me for this, is to add a limit to the amount you can claim of the more expensive items instead of making them expensive.  So for example, my one account could get maybe 3 of the spell books max.  I am speaking for others though and this may not be a problem for people and I'm just speaking out of turn.

The event is very tough. 10:1 for the eggs is time consuming.  If you don't do the method most shards have figured out, the dungeon is too tough for me.  I would not be able to do it with just me or even one other person.  The drops would be way too slow too probably.  I don't think the method the community has come up with is necessarily fun gameplay either.

Funniest Thing Seen in Chat: Marge: Everbody scatter - I lost a contact!

For context, we were on a huge pile of monsters that had been piling up for hours.

Biggest Bug Encountered: The page turning on the event turn in NPC was jumping pages.  This was on Origin.

Today's Question: None today, thank you.

Today’s Recommendation: Remove the screenshake of Earthquake.  Even though there's a solution, I'd still rather see other spell effects.

Favorite Moment This Session:  Image is a bit small so here's a link.  You can enlarge it using the link.  It's my full collection so far.

Favorite Player Seen: Deamocles is my hero for telling us how to turn off the EQ screenshake in EC.  For those others that aren't sure... turn the particle filter off in graphics.  This turns off ALL spell effects, but it's still better than watching your screen shake all day.

What I Watched While Playing: Waffles_McGreggor played for a while.  I also watched Gladius, but he got a bit negative today and it wasn't too enjoyable.  Waffles had a great time and pretty much did the same thing we were doing on Chessy, but he's on ATL.

EDIT: Nope, that didn't work.

My gaming experience today was a let down.  I enjoyed bantering with my friends online the most.  I spent more time than I'm happy with doing not much of anything in way of progress toward something fun or at least constructive.  Anything more I'd have to say on it would be too unconstructive toward anything and would just be venting.

I look forward to tomorrow.

I will say that I found a nice feature.  Comcast had a "planned outage" and I was in Destard.  I logged back in hidden in Yew.  Thank you for that.

Betty is fully trained and on a diet of greater dragons.  Paras don't smell as good, or so she says.  She treads carefully around them.

Day 57: Destard still sucks.

I think it's good to play there in spurts. Otherwise, you'll get frustrated and burned out. 🙂

I'm out... again... I'm paid for 6 months so may be back and left house up, but empty.  I didn't go full nuclear and get rid of everything.  I moved most stuff and will move the rest as I feel like it to the bank.

I really do enjoy playing with EVERYONE on Chesapeake.  Even people that would be surprised to hear it.  Tara.

I'll poke around cus I can't stay away though.

I'm far less hyped about NL.  I feel like they'll figure out a way to make even more money out of it.

The event has me disheartened.  I had fun with the eggs and collecting/trading with players.  That was a blast.  I had fun in the pile and griping about the lag.  It wasn't perfect of course, but it's better than how it is now.

I can't help but feel like the Devs have created a problem and then also created a real money for sale item in the shop that they think can at least alleviate the problem.  It's still a very poorly implemented event.  The things to collect, my favorite thing, are just too expensive.

I spent all day Saturday killing efreets and no helm either.  I'm not sure why ya'll think low drop rates and instant kill monsters are so fun.  It's just not.  When I say all day, I mean all day.
