Recall/gate to/from beach area (or the dirt south of the grass).
Cannot recall out of grass area. 

Hopefully someone else will be kind enough to post the tier creatures and the rewards.

The Black Gate itself looks pretty damn good.

Batlin's inner voice, talisman. HPR 2 SR3 MR2 DCI 10 resist 10 (mine is physical resist but I believe that's random)

Very difficult to use slayers. First wave orcs, second gargoyles & ogre lords, 3rd stone elemental & fire elemental (renowned) 4th fetid essence & [name] the vile mage Champion Batlin. 

Just completed a second on Europa. My character got a system message 'you have already received a reward for this encounter'

Batlin is ROUGH but we did it on Origin. The graphic for the talisman is really cool.

Sad that we can only do it once...well I guess we can do it more but for what? More of those cool blue cubes I guess! 🙂

Is the spawn density working for small and large groups?  We get over 100 Orge Lords at once.  Its pretty funny to see so many in one place.  Then run in further and see 100 more.

I haven't done the spawn yet, only checked it out briefly. Perhaps it needs to be popped with valor like other spawns?

It seems you can get the Talisman from killing the green essence things he spawns and not hitting the Boss.

I got a msg that I could not get it again, I was just killing the blobs, I did not hit Boss.

Its a pack drop.
I was actually full and i had to put my loot bag in my beetle to get it.
As soon as there was room, it went into my bag.

You aren't seeing it from my prospective...if the devs goal is to make these event things difficult to do alone then why don't they combine the shards...Currently that's not the case...Therefore it should be achievable by any template that one person wishes to play...

you know people do solo the roof

i have to agree with Kickstand if the reward is 1 per account, it shouldn’t limit you what type of build you want to play. if you make it difficult for sampire, make it difficult for tamer where pet will go wild or for mage where summons will be eaten as well.

For those saying it's impossible on a sampire, I completed the first one on mine. It wasn't easy! But I did it. Had to run to the bank to get more slayer weapons...batlin kicked my butt! And yes the stone eles stun is a pain but it doesn't last long....I died maybe a dozen times...MORE BONES FOR ME MUAHAHHAH!!! 

I like it...we are doing it for the third time now...well...as soon as it lets us respawn it...the timer is LONG ZzzZZzzzz

@Aragorn and @Kickstand ; Its easy to do all levels as a Sampire or other melee.

There were many sampires doing it on LS.  I ran that type toon on 1 account.

Yes a very long delay. We stood there until the body decayed....then all the loot decayed....and still we waited lol...maybe...20 minutes? I didn't time it but it's a long wait.

I hear its not one per account but one per shard.
Maybe that's not intended but people should check to see before it gets hotfixed.

Unconfirmed but thats what I was hearing so if others are taking advantage of it you might as well do it to.

The wait is approximately half an hour from Batlin dying to

Posts on Stratics identify the "participation" reward, which as described seems not to be limited, as a nifty-looking cube.  I'm a little concerned that I've seen none of them though, after working the spawn 4 or 5 times or so.  I'll try more, for RP reasons, one way or another.

I note my fellow players for some reason found it necessary to make political references and shard consolidation references in this thread....Very odd.

I was under the impression that the new spawn density was based on the amount of players participating.  So, that would be a relevant topic.  This is the first time their new spawn system has been live on production shards. We should be discussing how the amount of players affects the spawn density. The devs spent a long time on these dynamic spawns.

Also you should ignore trolls who have made 5 posts. And the big troll.

Well, I do't know what went wrong with my character. I did the spawn on Origin with a large group, and it was fun, but I got NOTHING, zilch, zero, nada, and I was killing as good as I was getting killed. Anybody else do this and not get a drop?   🙁

My only guess would be I did it on my mage, who didin't finish Julias quest becauseof the Unbounded pinky. Could that be the reason , and only toons that have finished the first part ae able to get the drops?  

I'll try again tomorrow on my sampy once I bring him in back from a shard he was visiting......

They want, is my understanding, this spawn NOT to be a Solo thing but for a group to work on...

My suggestion is to make good use of the General Chat and ask for fellow players to join to work the spawn....

How many Powerscrolls on that dead server have these players with Sampires been able to collect, over the years, without worries to be raided because they were doing it on a dead server and then go sell them for good gold on Atlantic ?

That this new spawn is not friendly to their templates concerns me the least, I think that all of the enormous advantages that they have had throughout the past time with that sampire far outdo the current, very little, disadvantage.......

Contrary to a Sampire, it is way more difficult for a Tamer or Mage to solo a Champion spawn and thus get Powerscrolls.

No need to further penalize them, I think.

Have any of you pontificating about templates actually tried this spawn?  It's not friendly to ANY template. Sampires are dying, mages are dying, tamers and pets are dying. NO ONE is going to solo this one.
Yes, it's one main drop per account, but we don't know yet if there is a use for the cubes. I've done the spawn a couple of times now, and not had a cube drop.  I will do it again in hopes of getting one, and because I've got the talisman, I will concentrate on keeping the regular spawn off the ones trying to kill the champ.

I completed the spawn and got the Talisman with a mage (and account) that has not done The Black Gate quest. 

Did you complete the spawn on a subscribed account or an Endless Journey account? Did you get looting rights on Batlin? Was your backpack Full?

After getting the talisman, is there any reason to redo the champ again? If not, then eventually no one will clear the boss and it cannot be soloed... so latecomers will not have fun?

Evidently you can get participation rewards for the spawn and it won't respawn unless you clear the champ. The participation rewards also seem to be fairly rare, so if you want one, looks like the champ will need to be cleared and the spawn run quite a few times.

The participation reward reward is the talisman - everyone gets one. The other drop is the cube. I only did it once so far and didn't get a cube. I have heard other saying the got one each time they finished the spawn.
The more traditional drops for turn in, I believe, will be with the event they are rolling out next week. That event should be the Undead Lords they were talking about in the newsletter.

Any particular corpse those crystals are found on, or can they be found on any of the corpses at the spawn?

I've run two spawns now and haven't gotten a cube or any crystals. Poor me. Guess I have to run more spawns!

I've never seen them before, but someone from Atlantic said they have been around for awhile.
but I'm finding them on anything during the champ spawn

I got 2 cubes on the first spawn I did.  I did 7 more spawns and have yet to get another cube.  I have used different accounts and toons to try to get more.  They seem pretty rare.

All I can tell you that same accounts across other shards was able to get the Drop,

If you would read the posts more than one player has shown or told you this.  You cant take the same toon to another shard.

Everyone seems to have got the Cube from the very 1st Orc round, off the very 1st spawn.

No-one has got one since to my knowledge.

It seems to be a server first reward, and therefore very rare and quite cool?

I can confirm if you use another character on another shard, you can get another talisman, I have 2 now on 2 different shards.


The fire coloured Crystals, I got 1 off a stone elemental, and 2 off a mage, I accidently ate them, like you do with Shame Crystals, they are identical in style and usage, except they are for "an unknow dungeon". Some people think they are turn-ins for a stage 3 new dungeon to be revealed, and 1 person is convinced he has seen part of the new dungeon entrance.

 😂  I got 2 crystals and also ate them. Dangit.  You get no credit in the loyalty menu for them.. 

Unless they went to shame points. I have 737 maybe the 2 went there.... I thought I ate them in groups of 5.

FYI: The Fire Elemental Renown can have Stygian Abyss artifacts on their corpses along with imbuing jewels. (Just looted a Sword of Shattered Hopes)

I realize the artifacts are part of the Fire Elemental Renown loot table. My point was that the loot table was not altered for this champ spawn. Players that want those artifacts can therefore be on the lookout for them.

the first day a group of my guild and  another guild did the spawn. Several of us got the cubes on the first Champ Spawn. One member got 2 of them on one char, but he was also multi-clienting and ended up with 4 by the end. I got mine on the last wave, when the essence spawned on top of me. They didn't all drop from just the orcs.

I have done it on multiple accounts on Sonoma and haven't gotten another cube. And the guild members haven't gotten a single cube since.

And Atlantic, I have done the Champion Spawn 5 times. Nobody I know has gotten the cube to drop.
But the spawn goes quickly on Atlantic

I put in a bug report for the cubes.  Either they are rare or not working as intended.  I would hope they make participation rewards easier to get.  Many have participated and not received them.

I got one cube from the Orcs at the very first spawn and another from the Orcs of the second spawn on another account. I did two other spawns with getting no cube.

The fake red shame crystal is an item that can be obtained through the usual means.
If you summon Energy Vortex against anon, anon will take control of the EV and turn it over to you.
Defeating this special EV will give you the same red shame crystal.
Eating it does not earn you any points. It's just a different color crystal.
But unlike before, it could have a new use. Don't throw it away, but keep it in a safe place.

The point is, is the participation reward supposed to be rare?  I play with others who have done 10 to 15 spawns. And they have no cubes. One guy ran 20 accounts thru and has 20 Talismans. He has no cubes.

How many spawns have you done? @Aragorn ; Im looking for info from players who have done more than 10 spawns.

You are asking a design question which can only be answered by the developer, not even from a player who have played 100 times because there is a thing either called bug, not conditions not met.

The crystals for an unknown dungeon are actually an unintended loot.
I once got them when an unbound elemental spawned on the roof. They appear when a shame monster is spawned outside of shame.

probably you won't recall but the roof one are in red color as well? shame one is yellowish

My only guess would be I did it on my mage, who didin't finish Julias quest becauseof the Unbounded pinky. Could that be the reason , and only toons that have finished the first part ae able to get the drops?

I completed the spawn and got the Talisman with a mage (and account) that has not done The Black Gate quest. 

Did you complete the spawn on a subscribed account or an Endless Journey account? Did you get looting rights on Batlin? Was your backpack Full?
Hi, I completed it on a veteran paid account, My backpack was not full and I got looting rights.. Thing is the game froze on me or lag, had to re-log in, and well, found nothing...   also myspeech did'n show on chat, and all was unresponsive by the end of spawn   🙁

I didn't realize it, but others have pointed out that sometimes you can get looting rights on Batlin, but not get a talisman. Sounds like you might just have to redo the spawn. Hopefully you'll get the tali the 2nd time around!

The shards that have Renowned fire eles should look in the backpacks. Most have gems.

The only publicly-available documentation I know of for the reward drops from this spawn is here:


the statement, and it isn't much, is:

[[Final reward drops from the Black Gate Champ Spawn are limited to one per account.  Participation rewards are unlimited.]]

Note that there's nothing there about the "final reward drop" being granted to everyone who gets rights.  In the past when there's been such a system they have not been subtle about it.  (Example: Remember fighting the Shadowlords underneath Demon Temple at the side of Queen Dawn?  There they were very open that everyone who got rights on the Shadowlords would get a Doom Artifact, but the number of shards you'd get were very limited.  In fact I've seen only two out there, though I know there are more.)

Further note that when you've gotten a talisman and kill the champ again we get a message to the effect that you've already gotten the reward.

Conclusion one: We cannot safely assume that it's intended that everyone who gets rights on the champ gets a talisman. Not sure what could make folks think that was happening, let alone what could make folks read RL politics into that.  (Still trying to figure that out but I doubt I'll devote more than 20 more seconds to that thinking.)

Conclusion two: We can safely assume that the talisman is the "final reward drop," not the "participation reward."  We safely can assume the cube is the "participation reward."

Conclusion three: Going a little further out on the limb we can likely assume that the cube drop is not working as intended.

Now I can't speak for what they might say to try and retcon their intent but honestly at present the intent seems relatively clear. 

*shrugs*  I'll take what comes I guess.
