Sometimes equipment comes with pale / grey color from loot, is there any meaning for it ? or just random?

yes, it means it has a curse of some sort, normally brittle or cursed.

Brittle.
Cursed retains generic color.

Brittle means it cant have POF applied to it more than a certain number of times(it drops the durability)
Antique takes damage way faster, and from things gear doesnt normally take damage from(like casting a spell)

slight error there. Brittle items can not have PoF applied at all, though they can be repaired.
Antique items are the ones with limited PoF facility, though you are right about them taking damage more quickly.

WARNING, there was a rather serious bug with POFing antique items, I will make wild assumption that it hasn't been fixed.
