who is steering this ship?
who is moderating it?
do the Dev's lurk here?
do they lurk here more than other forums?
is this the 'place to be' if you want stuff straight from the horses mouth?
if you get cheeky in here and since it attached to your real UO account does that get your game account in trouble as well, or just get your booted from the forums?

I believe is everything Official, and OFC the Devs Lurk, is their Forum and their new way to interact with the players, especially that now you need to have an active account to post here 🙂

or, and im just spit-balling here, someone who actually knows the answers could post a reply so we know how this is gonna run?

i dont think its demanding to want to know what the rules are and what the consequences are.

The very bottom of the page, click the "terms of service" button. The rules and punishments are written there. Four warnings is a permanent ban.

I really would like to see the Devs (or Official UO mouthpieces like Calandryll was 15 years ago) be more active in forum discussions. Stratics is awesome, but lacks "official feedback/answers" to questions posed. When I left UO, there was folks such as Calandryll < the only name I rememeber from back then, who would communicate with the Players.

Concerning "active account", mine isn't active at this moment. I've been away since 2012 and will be coming back soon.  Yesterday I linked my Mythic account to my EA account -- likely shaking off some cobwebs -- but I haven't actually subscribed yet.

1.) Who is steering this ship?   This is the official UO Forums on the UO Home page.  As such, (as I understand it), it is EA owned and Broadsword operated - with Mesanna leading as always.
2.) *raises hand*   A team of us are here to assist with forum moderation, information, etc.
3.) Yes - I believe you'll see much more Dev activity here than other options have seen the past few years.
4.) See # 3 above.
5.) Given that this is the official UO Forums - Yes.
6.) How do you define Cheeky?   The Forum Terms of Service are posted at the bottom of every forum page and your forum account is linked to your EA/Mythic Master Account.  Of course - we never want to ban and you'll find more information in the TOS below - but know that all moderation action will be available for review above our level, and that any permanent bans will be approved above.  As the Game Accounts and Forum Accounts are linked, actions on one can impact the other - if the problems are severe enough to warrant it.

Note/Disclaimer:  The above is my understanding of things, but of course, Mesanna has the final word on it.

Would help if moderators had some badge or anything. Hard to notice that one user "Trouble" is a moderator. And is that UltimaOnline account something official, or just someone with a lucky name?

I mean are we all expected to run a shortlist of who is who here?  😂

Hans't Mesanna at least prepared a uniform signature for all official accounts?

I'm going out on a whim here by saying, seeing as it was released a few days ago, I suspect they will update it and give the Mods badges, maybe add sub sections so on and so on,

Will do, but since it's UO I figured it's always a good idea to spell it out for them

Kyronix and Mesanna have both already posted frequently.  I'd rather they actually do their work too and not have to live on a forum.
