Black Screen When Placing House??

I've had this issues for years. In the classic client anytime I try to place a Keep or Castle, depending on where I stand and where my cursor is my screen blacks out and I cannot see anything. I imagine it's a known issue... anyone have a fix?

It's an issue where you stand. If you have the pre plot over your character it makes the screen black. If you move down where the plot isn't over your character it's fine.

Yeah, it is just something I got used to over the years.
