Mana Regen

hi, so Ive been trying to fit in all the skills I thought I needed for me Tamer/Mage/Weaver and Ive a question about meditaion please. 

120 Taming +15
120 Lore +10 
100 Vet 
120 Magery 
120 Spellweaving 
110 Eval Int 
80 Med +15 +10 

Ive been trying to figure out how I could get magery and weaving to real 120 skill while keeping a decent mana regen from medition and ended up trying 80 med, but realised i have 32 mana regen from items and I get more from 150 Int and the effective limit is 30 do I even need mediation at all? or is my 80 medition a total waste of points ? 

Would spirit speak be better for wraith form mana leach from damage ? casting wraith form from a scroll as a human. 

I don't think eval affects weaving? I'd drop it let pet do damage then end with wod?

Eval is for Bless and damaging spells like Death Ray to help my pet get the target down low enough to use WoD

I had forgotten about the real skill thing with masteries , with that calculator if I raised my taming and lore to 120 real at the cost of 25 meditation I should be fine to maintain Consume . Thanks

I dont know the technical side of it, but I do know that having med vs not having med makes a difference. I have a pure bard with med that is able to run both mastery spells and actually (slowly) increase my mana compared to my disco tamer with no med that will (slowly) lose mana while having both masteries in use... both of their regen is 30+.

Also with mediation, you can use the skill to actively regain your mana (quicker) in addition to your MR on your suit. Great way to see this is open your health bar to see your mana after you do a mana dump to see how fast it regains then hit meditation and watch it go up even faster.

As with everything else, it really depends on your playstyle and what you are going to fight. Swapping to SS means you will have to be on foot to use (and wraith form is the only spell you will be able to use) and depending what you are fighting (or how long the fight is); SS will either not leech enough mana or will stop leeching when the mob runs out of mana. Again it depends what you are fighting/doing in the game to know if that makes sense. If you are fighting the matriarch it's going to be spotty how much mana you can gain but if you are in the dungeons fighting the Umbrascale spawn there is enough spawn around to leech your mana back.

Best bet to know for sure is if you have the means, stone eval and put on SS to see how you do. One side note - Instead of scrolls to cast wraith form I would probably get +20 necro jewels (insure them) so that you don't need to worry about having a wraith scroll to get into form.

Does sdi affect weaving spells? 

Not sure about all spells but it does with WoD.

As I understand it at L6 you can start using WoD when the target is at 30% health ? So do you let your pet get it down by it's self? My thinking of having Eval Int was to use Death Ray to help my pet and to buff the bless spell. 

And my confusion with meditation was the 30 regen cap, Im not sure if that the cap from gear only or from all sources. 

Yes I just use a pet. Sometimes I'll combine it with my discord tamer. Wicked temp. 

I'm also not sure about the specific med mechanics but there's a major difference between having and not.

I mentioned it above in my previous response; there is a difference between having 30MR with no med and having 30 MR and actively using med... you can tell the difference yourself by just looking at your mana regen and then activate meditation skill; it will go up even faster. 

There are a ton of different options for your tamer template and there isn't much right or wrong; it's all based on your playstyle.

Not to completely throw a wrench into things, but my main 2 tamers I've used over the past several years don't even have the Vet skill on my template because between consume damage + pet healing (all the elite pets have healing now) + magery + gift of renewal (and gift of life in case they die) I don't ever see my pet low enough to need vet. I do have 120 med on those toons (and high MR) though to keep up the mana though...even with running consume AND healing I still will regain mana so I can toss WoD at the end of the fight.

This. 

Any sort of tamer temp should and will revolve around a pet. Anything else is icing on the cake. 

But i will say discord/tamer will always be my fav.
