Vendor trouble

Hi, back after a long break and in need to make some gold I tried setting up a vendor which has now disappeared twice.
I have set it up as per online instructions and gave her plenty of gold to cover two weeks wages, put some items to sell but after about 24 hrs she disappears. I do get my stuff back via the house sign but no idea why this is happening?
Is this something I'm doing wrong? Can other players interfere with vendors? I know my house has had visitors , and one that has marked a rune for my house and when he saw I was there he backed off and waited?

Which type vendor?  I assume its the standard one since it fell. Open the menu after you put items on and see how many days it will last.  How expensive was the item?  If its over 10M its better to change to a commission vendor.

If the clothes are in the moving crate, the vendor fell.  No one can make your vendor fall and go into the moving crate.  It ran out of funds.

check how long the gold will last AFTER you put the goods on him

2k gold.  That wont last long with items.  I Put 100k on vendors with nothing.

commission vendors are usually best, but for your orginal issue, are you sure you set the vendor contract to renew?  i think by default they only stay up a week.    but also sounds like you didnt put enough gold on it.

Vendor contracts only apply if the vendor was rented from another player house. Sounds like he was placing at his own home.

Commission vendors are the best for set it and forget it. Regular vendors need some degree of babysitting.

To be honest it was my first vendor and I didn't know what I was doing. I placed him, put 2k gold in and some items to sell but didn't change any setting. It's all a learning curve.
