I'm not thrilled with the bod system and how points are banked - it seems to hurt legit players who aren't going to waste time and resources on a 300-point bod that's worth 1 point banked or whatever.  Instead, we will just continue to stockpile bods on vendors and in chests and finish the LBODs or the high-end small BODs (including those we bribe up) to get what we need.

And I know the counter-argument is that if you change things, like make the banked system better, then the market is flooded with bod rewards. I'd argue that the market is already flooded by people who want to sell bod rewards (and some who may use unsavory means to automate the process) and so the only people hurt are those of us who are doing things legitimately and using the bod rewards for our own purposes (POF, ingot and lumber maps, etc.). 

It's like the housing timer - legitimate players have to deal with the timer, while those who are willing to use unapproved...means don't have to worry.

No one legit gonna use the banking point on most of the professions, after doing a little test.

On paper I was hyped by the banking system (even more than I was for the bribery).. after PLAYING the game.. I was like NO WAY! really??


PS: highly disagree on the solution tho.. it should legit be remove.. don't make it more rewarding for them botters to please a couple legit crafters with banking point.. We need better ideas for worthless BODS than making the actual banking system more rewarding.

Bribes are wonderful and possibly the only reason I mess with BODs.

As for banking the BOD points, I don't know the solution, but the way it exists now where banking is useless is wasteful and leads to a lot of people each storing thousands of BODs that probably don't help with lag in some areas. It's especially true when you move onto a screen with a house full of vendors storing BODs.

There has to be a middle ground where it's worth us to actually fill and turn in more BODs than most of us currently do, rather than a lot of people having characters that do nothing but BOD runs to get decent BODs, only for most of the BODs to end up on vendors for storage because they are useless.

I see only two easy solutions:
1. Increase the banked points to where it's worth doing them and banking them *COMBINED* with stacking the banked and unbanked points. This means no more 5 points (or less) for a 20-item BOD that took a large number of resources to fill. Make it 20-25 points *and* let me stack it with other BODs that I don't intend to bank - if I have a 500-point BOD and 50 points banked, I should have 550 points to spend (for those of you my age, think about Ye Olde Green Stamps).  Then I'm going to do it and not let it sit in a BOD book while I make daily BOD runs.
2. Re-evaluate the BOD system as a whole, to where more resources consumed = more points.

Now I get that bribes are an active gold sink for the game, and that if you changed up the points system, bribes might go down, but let's be real - there's a ton of stuff sitting on vendors for 100 million gold+, and you can buy gold outside of the game for stunningly cheap prices.  Our little bribes are not having an impact on the economy.

I agree with a lot of your points here, but let me ask you..
one dumb question: "Can u claim another empty bods when u banking points?"

Edit: They should sell gold for the same price on their front store and promote it on their client.. for the meme they could add an in game NPC vendor at Yew Gate Tram.. to access the ea store.

The ability to bank points is the same as a bank balance. Storing gold checks was useless and stupid. A bank number is the way to go.  Me storing books of completed large bods is a waste. Let me complete and store the points to use whenever I like.

I wanted to respond to this point too. Preaching to the choir here for sure. There are a number of poor design choices in bods in regards to difficulty and resources vs rewards. 

I liked that one reward can be filled by different BODS.. some of them being more easy/cheap to fill.. like a couple of your example. It spice things up. *insert your token here*

It's not "frightened", it's an acknowledgement that the majority of BODs in their current form, only benefit somebody scripting - I have a small list of items that I need/use from the BOD rewards and know what BODs I need (or need to bribe up). Everything else is useless - especially the BODs that need jewels or something other than regular wood/etc. - I'm sitting on a nice chunk of jewels, hides, and wood that will never be wasted on a BOD. I just can't fathom somebody banking points unless they are automating things and it's not digging into their time.

And tying into your comment about selling ingots - when BODs were first added back around....I want to say early 2002, but there were a few months I didn't play around then (may have been late 2001), so I don't remember exactly when they were added, but the majority of my gold was made from selling ingots (and even selling some of the BODs I was picking up) to those doing them.  It was very, very profitable to supply ingots to the people doing BODs. At one point, and this was pre-vendor search mind you, I was buying ingots from various vendors and re-selling them and making a nice profit as well.  They added bribes just as I had checked out of UO, so I missed that.  Flash-forward and I come back, and the points system was added while I was gone, and...it's again, more profitable for me to sell the ingots on a vendor at my house or at a stall in Maginicia.

I know some hate the BOD system, but I don't think it would take much to revamp it - somebody needs to either play the BOD game and I mean take the time to mine ingots or gather bone or whatever and get a lot of BODs and turn them in or at least study the points/rewards, or talk to the players, and come to an understanding that it needs to be based on resources/time consumed.  

I'm about to pack up and move from Zento to Magincia for a sea-side 18x18 (I've been told we need a pirate-themed house with a boat parked next to it and Magincia has multiple 18x18 spots open) and looking at the logistics of moving, and I'm realizing I just need to start selling BODs themselves to other players. I'm wasting storage/space on BODs that I will never complete because they aren't worth it.

When I make BOD runs from now on, I just need to be ruthless and only keep the handful that will get me what I actually use on a regular basis (even if I have to bribe them up) and sell all other BODs. 

I'm getting around 30 BODs a day between three of my characters, and even if say 5-6 are worth keeping, I can sell the other 24 for 5,000 gold apiece, for close to 100,000 a day, so an easy 1-3 million a month for no work. And the BODs were going to sit on vendors anyways.

For what it worth, if u getting bored of farming bones.. there is ~2 vendors in the royal city selling the new magery reagents (bones are part of it)

I can’t agree with any of your counter points.  I don’t run scripts. I’m a hard core bod filler by hand. But crafting tables and fill from container and two accounts going at once makes it possible to complete many bods. I probably fill 10-15 larges a day.  I have 30-40k bods on GL alone. I have hundreds of larges sitting in books completed that I’d rather turn into points. I’ve been at this for 20 years.

10-15 a day is rookie numbers.. by hand on a single account I could triple those numbers, easy in ~6-8 hours (high end lrg BODs)

The thing we talk about is... the fact we are LIMITED by more stuff..
Not that we need to control 2 accounts as legit to fill a meager 10-15 lrg a day. (lol)

PS: this is how I crafted over 400k potion in a few weeks.. playing on main account with the alt on the laptop:
                                                        
Every few minutes, u just drop the potion grab a new stack of bottles, rince n repeat while playing on the main account.. this is 100% not THE problem here. (once more.. those numbers u bring.. rookie numbers, even as legit)

Edit: I'll give it to you.. this is unsustainable by a single human.. not matter how many account u control legit.. cuz at the end.. burn out is waiting for you.. if it's not the lack of materials stopping you first.

step 1 to fix BOD's: give us a name filter!!!! Then ask us what else? and only listen to legit.
