Server up til Server down

There are always the same unattended scripters in Fan Dancer Dojo on Atlantic. They are reported on daily. Sometimes removed, sometimes not. Occasionally showing back up hours later. 

So, as a player, if I want to farm the fan dancers, I have to compete with the scripters? I have to go somewhere else because they were there first? I might as well give up and start scripting myself? 

The whole seeming attitude towards scripting is disgusting.

Fan dancer dojo is the smallest of the problems. Pay attention when there is events. The last 2 events were disgusting. Before i quit, it was around the demonic forces event, was the last one i played, and it was good. Then came the ice one and the fire dungeon one, those i didnt play and stopped playing. I came back last year, and when i starting doing the city invasion event, it was flooded with bots and ppl running 20+ accounts framing it. The ideal should be ban everyone that uses scripts, but that would be 80% + of the paid player base, and a lot of them have 5+ paid accounts. 

Can you block the bots with barrels or chests or something?  A human player would have no problem with that but we used to throw up obstacles when we suspected such accounts and  when it was clear there wasn’t a human around we’d page the GMs.

Got to love it, makes so much sense- block in a scripter breaking the ToS and YOU are the one that gets banned.

I paged a GM asking if I box them in would I get banned. I doubt I'll get an answer, but, we'll see.

I highly doubt that 80% of the player base is running scripts. And I would be surprised if they had that many paid accounts. With Endless Journey there isn't a need (and no, the one IP address thing isn't an issue). 

I came back in the middle of the Demonic Forces event. I agree, it was rather disturbing to see the number of scripters running around- made it harder as a non-cheating player to get event drops.

Grimbeard, NuSair, I didn't say box them in - if somebody was scripting/macroing, it was easy to throw up a few things in their path and at least back in the day, the scripts weren't smart enough to go around and/or they would act weird and just walk around in a pattern trying to do whatever.  We used it to show GMs that they were unattended, and the GMs never said anything to us other than thanks. 

We never even had to send in videos we took, because the GMs could see for themselves what they were doing.

Now deliberately bringing a mob onto a scripter/macroer could get you talked to.

I would agree - most are not scripting/botting, because they don't need to, or they don't want to risk it - many of the longtime players have far too much to lose.

Yeah, not sure what to say. We've seen some people clearly scripting, but we are able to go elsewhere for the time being.  Years back when my shard was crowded, that was a different story. The Mining Guild of Minoc did not appreciate people scripting all the verite and valorite.  It brought dishonor upon miners everywhere.

Nowadays when I see people scripting resources or things like the dojo, I assume they are doing it for stuff to transfer to Atlantic.  Once you get the vet reward transfer token, I could see where it would be very lucrative to buy or farm stuff on other shards and then transfer to Atlantic.

Blocking a player is actionable. I wouldn't recommend it. That being said, GMs will investigate the calls they receive, but they aren't going to relay what or if an action was taken on another player.

Yeah, the GMs never told us what actions they took, although we usually saw that those characters were no longer doing their automated routes, and we could reasonably guess that either they got booted or they got a warning and were careful after that.

Ultimately the only way to really deal with these people is to get at root cause of why they are scripting/botting on the scale that they are, and that probably comes down to real-life money, and that's been a problem since I started back in 1998.  I can remember when $10 would get you a million gold, and now it gets you 100 million gold.

Can I ask how these people are allowed to advertise their websites on the in-game general chat?

Please.. i've proven no action gonna be taken if they use third party in PvP.. if they bots during an event or even multibox fan dancer dojo with 10+ characters; for PvP weapon 24/7 more than a week.


We even have a picture of you hanging out with someone using what shall not be named on this very forum.. this guy's clearly scripting using a cheat engine.. u've seen it with your own eyes and yet..

The relay he's talking about is the fact the bots won't be there the next day he shows up.. here if they missing.. it just mean they scripting somewhere else.  🙁

I can say that they are not "allowed" to advertise. Again, GMs do investigate and take action if they are violating the TOS.

The RMT people can only Spam in help channel and the ej  accounts are quickly banned

I'm the one who posted the article that Draconi/Cotten wrote about his group burning down the houses in UO, but if you read it, he also cautioned that it's easy to burn down the scammers houses, but you can't take it too far or else you harm the people they've scammed (and lumped them in with the scammers).

I applause your effort on this but until the "constellation" client is dealt with this will never go away. They auto log in when server comes up and start to script immediately. They have auto reply to GM made possible through scripts that interact with Discord and/or AI, thus rendering the support team useless. 

If you want to farm the fan dancers dojo I recommend just doing it on a free shard where they actually take action against these kinds of players. Doesn't seem like anything will ever get done here regarding this cheat client (which is the main issue) @Kyronix please note legitimate players are still complaining and you continue to lose players due to inaction on the client. DO SOMETHING MAYBE?

Even when I would kill some of their bots and they would realise 5+min later by dropping racist comment on main chat, y'all did nothing. The TOS is there to be pretty.



@lokea I was first to drop a video resuming the article you linked.. being first to relay the news changes nothing.. They CLEARLY can knows within a second or two if the guy is a seller or a buyer.. with the tool they got.. it would not have been good for the game to ban the buyers... the non affiliates RMT'ers were cleared at 99% by Mesanna over a decade ago.

It's like when they adding follow option only on CC to cover for that third client.. adding to confusion to protect them cheaters subbing a lot of accounts.. they just got rid of the free loader not the cheaters.. or it would have been added to the EC not the CC if that was something the dev team really wanted in their game.

Just to show you; under Origin and EA it was not an issue. (nor a key feature for malicious player; a perfect BS cover up)

To enlight you.. the tool they got, since 15+ years vs RMT'er and dupers.. is like crypto money.. they can flag anything to have a unique ID.. like your fingers print on anything you touch.. like a crypto coin (exactly the same tech, dev by the same guy).. u can follow undefinitly from wallet to wallet (account to account).. pretty easy to know who's selling and who's buying.. it take seconds.

No-one is frame skipping, this is outdated terminology from 15 years ago, no-one frame skips anymore, you need to stop going on about this rubbish. Technology has improved, to render all of this obsolete.

If I was frame skipping, I would be quite annoyed, as it would be interfering with the flow of my playstyle and casting.
