Also same. Double plus ungood.
Either it tells me it cant communicate to the login servers, or it tells me there is an update and/or my caps lock is on (which it isn't).

Another day, yet another instance of the subscriptions I'm paying for being virtually worthless. It's every other damn day at this point that something else goes tits up with this game.

I first started having problems logging in around 2:25 am PST this morning. That is the timestamp on the EC lua file I was editing at the time.

Now I'm getting hit with "incorrect password" instead of hanging on "verifying", and none of my passwords have changed. Even changed one manually to confirm you get an email when it changes. This bodes well...

The login server is wonky today and it may not be able to verify that your password is what you put in. I get that, the can't communicate and just plain timing out. you can eventually get in if you keep at it. It takes around 20-25 attempts. @kyronix, any update on what's wrong?ChumboWumbo said:Now I'm getting hit with "incorrect password" instead of hanging on "verifying", and none of my passwords have changed. I knew this was going to happen when they migrated to the cloud.
2025-01-28 19:06
#21
they've been in the 'cloud' for years, also the log in server and several of the shards haven't been migrated yet. I don't believe that is the problem.

So your saying these consistant problems recently is a fluke?
2025-01-28 19:13
#24
No, I have no idea what the problem is, only that I firmly believe it is not because of the recent migration of some shards to the cloud.

I use multiple accounts (no scripting, all CUO Web). Not a single one has made it on after 50+ combined attempts. I'm not trying to log them all at once, so its not a case of sending too many connections through at once either. Try one, get "incorrect password" or hanging, clear the connection, try another. Nothing.Victim_Of_Siege said:The login server is wonky today and it may not be able to verify that your password is what you put in. Well, given the circumstances, shouldn't the Developers give us up to date informations on the situation ?
Players are wasting their time trying to log in, I think we deserve to be told whether or not trying over and over can get one in, eventually, or whether it is all a royal waste of a UO player's time as things are, and we would be better off to cease trying to login until whatever is the issue gets fixed...
We have a Community Manager, right ?
Couldn't our Community Manager inform us about what is going on with the Login Server and what should we, as UO players, do in that regard ?

Would they consider compensating the community for the inconvenience?
Perhaps a free 30-day subscription extension, a Soulstone Token, or a Mythic Token could show appreciation for our patience and loyalty.
This gesture would mean a lot to the player base and help maintain goodwill during this challenging time.
Never hurt to ask 🙂

Honestly, they need to let us know what is going on. It doesn't take this long to get sites back up, or what ever, just like a few short weeks ago. It's always radio silence and its annoying, poor customer service for sure.

Letting us know it is down is good, but also when it comes up so we don't keep trying to log in, causing more problems on their end. After the servers being down and crashing alot then this, some good will towards subbed players would be appreciated. It seems like my days off this month when I want to play, I'm unable to at all.
Oh, don't forget to blame Trump for global warming, causing the bird flu, that somehow also caused covid, and servers getting viruses too. That, or the light from Venus and swamp gas.... you get the MiB reference.

here's an idea - that newsletter email list they use a few times a year? blast us when the log in server is available so we don't waste all evening wondering if this attempt is going to the one. Then comp us the cost of a days subscription or something equal value in game that we actually all are for such as a potion that improves our drops to make up for any lost today. If you use the potions already, well... you got a free one.

Well, I don't know about what other UO players like to check but, personally, I hardly check the UO.COM news while I very often check the Official Forums...
Regardless, why does it have to be either one and couldn't the updating UO players on what is going on be on both, the UO.COM news and the General "Official" Forum ?

This has been going on for too long now, though...
If it was a simple issue, I would imagine that a reset of the Login Server would have fixed it but a shutting off and clean restart of the Login Server I guess should have not taken this long... is that so or can a reset of the Login Server be something that would take all this time ?

I can log in on the classic client. Not that it does me any good. I can't set up half my stuff on this obsolete garbage, and playing 2 characters at once without follow (enhanced) simply ain't happening.
Even more of a reason having 3 clients is more of a massive hindrance than anything. This downtime would probably only be half as long or less if the workload wasn't being so needlessly juggled.

so what about a real apology to paying customers who could not properly play for weeks now?
like a month free or 1 vet reward pick?
bla bla thanks for your patience and the event is running a bit longer is not gonna cut it in my opinion it just showed that no one really cares.
which all the downtimes and reverts people lost tons of TIME and DROPS

Now that the problem is "over" my wild speculation is this had all the hallmarks of a DDOS
attack on the login server and the solution was to update the clients to
use a different address for the login server. Hopefully they added
address roll over to use different addresses if one is not working.

Relax. "play properly for weeks"? It was a few afternoons/evenings. These events run for 90 days now where years ago they only ran for 45-60 days. If you haven't gotten what you need in the 75 days it's been running, well, hate to break it to you: the few days missed isn't going to matter much is it?FinleyGrant said:so what about a real apology to paying customers who could not properly play for weeks now?

no i dont relax, iam paying for a service and that server was crap for weeks, its not only the login server issues but also the countless times the servers went down.
also its not about the time the event runs,
its about properly handling a case which affected hundreds or thousands of paying customers.

These boring ass ToTs have gone on long enough and the nightmares will have been active for almost FIVE MONTHS. A few afternoons/evenings are irrelevant. You will relax because lol you ain't getting a free vet pick or a month of game time, delusional much?
Just remember years ago that when Atlantic reverted an ENTIRE WEEK OF GAMEPLAY we got a god awful garbage clicky as an apology "BETTER LATE THAN NEVER", named that because it took Mesanna several months to even give us that with some sarcastic name.

Just remember years ago that when Atlantic reverted an ENTIRE WEEK OF GAMEPLAY we got a god awful garbage clicky as an apology "BETTER LATE THAN NEVER", named that because it took Mesanna several months to even give us that with some sarcastic name.
iam not delisional, if i would treat my customers like that i could be happy not get sued.
also i already said i dont care about those events at all it seems you are just not able to read or comprehend.
furthermore, the fact that some crazy stuff happend before and you only come up with "Just remember years ago that when Atlantic reverted an ENTIRE WEEK OF GAMEPLAY we got a god awful garbage clicky as an apology "BETTER LATE THAN NEVER", named that because it took Mesanna several months to even give us that with some sarcastic name." tells every customer all they need to know about what they actually care.

And I think I've addressed what they should do I'd copy and paste it but I'm sure that threads been locked..
They notified the playerbase of the issue. We do not need a play by play of what the actual issue may have been or what they were doing to resolve it, just that they are resolving it.

Boo hoo. Then sue or do a chargeback on your payment method for the game time, "product not as described". Be sure to tell me how far you get with either of those. You lost a few $ of game time, get over it.FinleyGrant said:

A continued persistent issue with no response as to what happened, each and every time, is entirely unacceptable, period. If your power, gas, or Internet were having constant lapse in services, you'd be pissed and throwing a fit, but because its a video game we're supposed to just "let it go"? You really are cattle if you believe that.
This right here is why I find myself siding with the damned bot farmers on a lot of core issue over the actual players. This level of complacency for being treated like utter garbage as a customer is absolutely fucking absurd. Consumer rights, customer satisfaction, what the hell are those, am I right?! It's a backwards mentality I straight up cannot stand, and part of me feels they deserve being treated like this, they seem perfectly content with it.Grimbeard said:YOU don't want communication myself and many others doViolet said:No, people want the problem to be fixed, not for the devs to hold our hands through the downtime.Grimbeard said:This says nothing continued denial of the fact the uo is under attack is ridiculous and breeds great speculation confusion anger people want real answers not vague blurbs

Join the club.. game is totally unplayable for legit CC PvP users.. i'm paying for 2 accounts and cannot enjoy the MAIN content a theme gated game has to offer.. and the last time they communicate on the matter was in july 2024.ChumboWumbo said:A continued persistent issue with no response as to what happened, each and every time, is entirely unacceptable...

Sounds like you need someone to teach you how to use a computer. The servers were unstable because of attack for a week. I was able to do two 1 hour luck runs that week and lots of decorating. Yesterday I did an hour run.
The game was unplayable for hours not 80 days.
For someone who doesn't play, you sure say you see a lot of bots.

Flagged for misinformation and personal attacks.

PS: u legit saying in the same POST.. the imaginary attack was for one week.. to end up saying game was unplayable for hours.
Even the CM was not that disingenuous when she ask me to go in private with her.. she does that to be able to shut down the door in private without giving any answer.

There were responses each time. Something I could possible agree with you on however is that UO.com is down often (as it is right now) and that we didn't get an update on the long weekend (MLK day) which is kinda expected.ChumboWumbo said:username said:These boring ass ToTs have gone on long enough and the nightmares will have been active for almost FIVE MONTHS.
