Balancing UO

How come both rorshnak and mariah; BS studio.. are so adament on shutting down any good talk about balancing the Production shard?

It's one thing to contribute into ruining the game.. but it's another to shut down people with the will and ideas to help fixing it.

You guys should really support the last few non botting users.. like just let them talk of stuff like balancing on the official forum to bring up ideas and do the moderation on people like @Cookie coming to derail every thread that could affect his way of life.

We get it BS are done trying.. but u cannot shit on our HOPE of a better future wich such poor decisions making.. like shutting down @mis post...

The idea of non spell chan shield to bypass the HLD overcapping limitation to the hold hardcap of 45%.. would be a GREAT and fairly EASY fix to start with..

All the team has to do is ignore us if they have no plan of doing anything related to better balanced, non botted UO.. instead of just crushing our hope, like u just did twice in ~5min.

Seems pretty logic and easy.

PS: the problem with poison build like shuriken ninja.. is the power creep and bad itemization.. your pretty much asking for a new meta.. I was bringing an idea to shake the actual meta.. not to make a new one.. this is with small changes like that ( a lot ) that you can streamline this steamy shit (PvP wise) we got today.. the step two would be to limit/delete a lot of stuff the encourage automated action in PvP.. step 3 make the PvE more challenging.

Better hard/soft cap overall.. since this itemization exist.. bringing back poison ninja build as THE meta, ain't gonna help short nor long term.

Maybe some players have fun the way it is and do not want yalls nonsense.

The problem with poison build.. I was there when it started (i quit not long after.. the legit UOA PvP was unfun and slowly dying).. the very beginning of those poison build was when Mythic did that enhanced potion properties/alchemist build.. not long after that.. everyone could/would run with a ninja belt full of poisoned shuriken.. is was LAME.. like all those new PvP potion we would carry around to dmg other user. (most of players would do automated action, wich was even MORE lame)

Like the problem with mages fighter in the actual meta.. is related to the itemization.. I'm trying to find a solid mage armor (medable) outfit for my paladin.. I'm doing it sooo wrong.. i should be going for non medable and leech.. why?? cuz of all those items.. just look the next event.. there is two heretic piece coming SEXY for mage armor.. but those two piece got high SDI and LRC..

Once I acquired those.. i'll 100% switch my paladin into a mages.. why?? cuz i would be retarded to still play a paladin.. when it could be a mages One Shot build.. cuz of this itemization (bribe) and weak hardcap.

PS: the idea on non spell chan to counter hit lower defense with overcap from that shield.. i just want to specify this is to counter melee HLD.. it shouldn't affect high dex ranged accurate weapon, like archers.. u just buff two shitty build with a single tiny change.

as a fact, i understood why there are no more archers, etc... in pvp, and the reason is that, that's why the players went for defensive mage templates mainly.

something must have happened in all these past years, players complained that their mages were completely neutralized with so much poison.

In terms of our pvp encounters, I would like to respond to a few things.

I know who you are now - you are Storm the archer, as far as I am concerned, a very new, green player, who gets in and fights, very cool. You are very easy to kill, and have very little pvp vision.

Our first encounter, I recalled in, and was ambushed by 4 God, and yourself, as they were taming a coloured mare, I had no idea what I was going into, and died very fast - all good, I put you on my kill list.

Our second encounter, 4 God including yourself were chasing 4 of us, we turned and killed you, moved on.

Our third encounter, I saw you sneak into the cave outside Covetous to scout us. I knew you would do it again. I hid our entire team in the cave, and just waited patiently for you. There was no cheating, no gimmicks, just old fashioned patience that our younger guys do not have, they like to chase chase chase. You walked into the cave, we walled you, and pulled off a perfect ambush on you. 🙂

The screenshot you show - you are showing 2 of the best pvpers on our shard - they are both insane, 1 is in my guild, and 1 I have fought against forever. I do not know what happened there, maybe they both killed each other, or maybe 10 God took them out, it would take that many, and you may have been helping the God - absolutely fine.

Regarding any other solo fight, Ninja would wipe the floor with you, but he is very friendly if you do not trashtalk him and us which you have been doing, if you want to learn to pvp, he would help you. 

But if you chose to stay in God - good luck, and we will see you on the battle-field, I wish you all the best.

In terms of balanced, or unbalanced, I think it is very early days for you to make that call.

In terms of "suggestion"  - I am completely ok with it.

It was your thread, the guy has mentioned myself, and our encounters in a few of his posts, It is fair I can respond, and I wanted him to know my perspective. Sorry if you feel that is derailing, I am happy to stop.

I gave an honest opinion as to why his rebalance was a bit early days, yet you also have blinkers on, anything I say cannot be read, even when I have a ton more experience than you. As for suggestions - go ahead, I am fine with all of them.

The other one that killed me from your guild was when I went to an open field where there were 5 of you (that same day) and you attacked me between 4 of you, I did not survive because I was carrying a non-balanced weapon and I forgot to change it, something that you will not be so lucky because they all are.

And the next death was in the cave, in an unhonorable and dirty way 5 vs 1 and with a wall.

So, there is nothing I can learn from this kind of dirty game, if you can't 1 vs 1 finish me none, it's all vanity what you tell, fallacies, lies.

if you say that they are one of the best players on the server, you really have no idea of pvp, and would like any of those 2 endure what I endured in the cave 5vs1, you cost you kill me and much, even suffered from seeing almost impossible to do so

I give up.. without any good moderation.. it's hopeless.

PS: I still love your idea of making stuff liek shuriken better for archers.. the poison arrow build could be a thing. (high dex + archery + poison; type of formula)
Personally my old archer was a PK necro.. back then I was lacking skill to make the necro archer poison build for the poison necro spell viable.. but all those ranged build idea.. would be broken cuz of those bad hardcap.. it would be broken OP or broken weak (hit or miss depending on your RNG)

My necro PK archer was good in group of ~3.. when someone would call a target I could unload everything (run out mana real quick.. even if I was vampire with medable gear and max mana regen i could possibly have without meditation skill) #nosustain.. wich was a good balance for OP one shot build #nosustain.

The biggest problem to poison build was mythic changes like the alchemist build for PvP and the ninja class with the new itemization.

The mage poisoner for Destard champ + a little PvP support was so much fun.

You haven't seen me with 4 God and carrying a colored mare ever, because the only pvp you've been able to see of mine is Storm.

I have done for years pvp but not in Europe, so green, another lie and ignorance.

FYI, the first day I took out Storm I was going with Malik, a friend on my way to Yew, I wasn't carrying any potions or pvp addons, I was moving my character when I was attacked, I got killed 3 vs 1, that's for starters, and no potions or anything.

So, if you were one of them, what a crappy pvp you do.

Then, your friend that you praise so much wanted to pvp with me, I told him, bring me potions, he gave me a few potions and tried to kill me with 2 of his main characters, the result was disastrous, he couldn't, he saw the uselessness of his template made real, it was useless.

therefore, according to your confusion of reality, as I endured 5vs1 in a narrow and enclosed cave and see you suffer to see that I almost survived, then I'm the best of the server according to your confused vision.

you have overrated your friend and that's because you have no idea about pvp, you lack experience to understand that your friend has a very simple and useless template for those of us who have experience.

We can close this thread no point trying to talk balance with such bad moderation and a legion of cheaters full of themselves in unofficial control of this game.

Let's leave the official forum and official shards to the few collectors and cheaters still left in this game.
Really a lost cause without a minimum will from the studio to address those issues.. we can't even discuss balance.. the only solution I see.. we need a freaking BOT on the moderation team to make things happen.
Wich is a sad irony. We lost our GG to bots and cheaters with a tons of very bad decision like bribing the players base.. Next the moderation team gonna lose their job to BOT and after that the dev team gonna be replace by AI.. This is the longterm route y'all chooses.

I have never played in Atlantic, I only entered a few months ago with a character to see how many people there were because in a discord server a player was talking about the difference of players between a shard and another, that's my only relationship with Atlantic.

You have never met Jerry in your life, Jerry is a Spanish player that I met many years ago and did not play in Europe or Atlantic, is possibly one of the best pvps I've seen in all my Ultima Online experience and taught me to be a great player.

Ego no, reality, because I can say it, because I have experienced it and because I have done it.

That's why I tell you, you are very lucky to do pvp in this era, because if it comes to be the settings of the past, honestly, you would see the reality of my words.

What u say is why I used to love Chivalry before Boardsword changes it..
Chiv was OP.. so much so the dev had to limit it's use on mages..

The FUN part of that meta was pretty simple.. to have a strong pally u needed to be HIGH karma.. such a great DESIGN.. the GOOD players had something PK wouldn't have... CHIV POWA! 

But who care about good balance.. lets just wait for those bribe while our bots and illegal client stroke our fragile unskilled EGO.

Ok, my mistake, on Europa, around AoS time, there was a very well known pvper called Jerry who had a landmark house at Yew Gate. I thought you referred to him. If you are talking about a completely random guy called Jerry from Mars, then fair enough, I have no idea who he is.
