If my memory is correct, October events usually come out mid month, not on October 1st. Keep that in mind if your expecting an event right away in October and it doesn't happen. 🙂
My take on what they have given is that the first event will be a champ spawn type event or maybe something new because the second event is coming a month later and also references "a mage" which could be a champ. If the first one, Shadow's Awakening' was a treasures event it would be longer than a month and since the third one is 3 months after the second one, I am expecting the 2nd one, Shattered Sanctum, to be something like a treasures event.
Just my thoughts based on dates and descriptions.
