Did they ever fix Magery Mastery bugs?

Hello everyone,

The website at this link shows that pet with Magery Mastery have bugs with their AI. Instead of buffing themselves, they are actually buffing their target. Did any of these bugs ever get fixed?

Edit: The following spells are bugged:

- Agility

- Cunning

- Strength

- Bless

- Arch Cure

So it seems like 1/3 of their toolkit is bugged.

Can you please name the spells and explain what is wrong with them?

Lets gather a list of bugs, then we can pass them to the devs and hope for the best.

Wouldn't matter anyway. Chiv is so much better than magery or necro on Pets.

Need to make the Necro spell set better and make a Ram a mount.

Need to go back to when Magery Pets cast from a distance. That was changed early because players wanted all Pets to tank. Now that we are better, we could use a pet behind us casting spells while we have a tank template.

Other than corpse skin, does any player use necro spells on mobs? A necro archer is pretty weak compared to chiv.

You can bless your pet and not rely on the pet for it.

Coming from a poster that can't even describe what is broken, for that mentality of a player yes.

Mystic pets are much better than Magery pets, do very many players use those?

If they fixed the things that do not work on Magery pets, would they get more use? Doubtful. Chivalry does so much more damage.

Why waste resources on something that would not be used.

Why are PP nightmares so popular? They have enough points to replace Magery with Chivalry.

I saw no need to redocument something widely acknowledge and if they are broken how can we decide if they are better or worse?

Magery mastery pets are popular with people doing pirates

Pets that don't have chiv are useful when you don't want an area effect, such as farming anywhere you might encounter an ortanord

@shootgun ; no they have not changed MM oddities.

Like I said, Magery is not a very good choice for pets, even when all the spells work.

These have been noted for years. Those pages are 4 years old.

At this point pet magics are working as intended. Which means, they do what they do and there is no plans to change them at this time. Maybe that will change, but don't hold your breath.

Build pets with AI/Chiv and kill everything faster and efficiently.

Bug report here (link) points out several masteries don't work in a sensible way.

That report also asks for more pet context control, which would be a significant improvement to pets.

I don't know what "working as intended" means in Pawain's world. Is that working as Pawain intends? Is that a synonym for ignoring issues and not making positive changes?

I don't use any Chiv-AI pets. Tip: the pet that enables the most damage is often the one that requires very little healing and micro management, which allows the tamer to deal most of the damage (with slayer spellbooks). That's not a Chiv-AI pet.

@ForeverFun yes the player does lots more damage than a pet will if a player chooses to be involved in damage. And there are pet builds that synergize with player templates, but none of them involve a magery pet. But they could if magery Pets fought at a distance instead of melee.

Fact, an AI/Chiv pet does the most single target damage of any pet build. Players can say all kill and invis while using them. So that is about the least micromanagement as you can get as a tamer.

That brings up an idea for a whole set of new pet foods. Slayers that could be fed to pets and gives them that slayer for a period of time.

Magery Mastery for pets is still bugged. They'll still cast buffs (Strength/Agility/Cunning/Bless) and cure spells on their opponent rather than themself. One thing the CAH website forgot to mention, is that Magery Mastery pets can also cast Mind Blast (against opponents with lower Cold Resist), and a Mind Blast (damage based on INT and Magery) from a MM Serpentine Dragon with 1,039 INT is actually decent (109 damage against a 54 Cold Resist GD, or 162 against a discorded GD with 31 Cold Resist). Their damage output still falls behind a Chiv+AI pet though.

Necromancy and Necromagery is still bugged for pets in that they'll cast Conduit, but none of their single target Necro spells actually chain off of it.

Did they ever fix Magery Mastery bugs?
