Probably be a newsletter around June 🙂
Most games don't have newsletters but DO have other means of communication used by the developers, most notably posting on their forums, blog posts, or vlogs. UO has none of these and has chosen the newsletter as a form of player communication. So while you're comment is technically correct that most games don't post newsletters, it's disingenuous to the actual point of this post.Pawain said:But we need a newsletter now to tell us NL is not ready yet, even tho it is not supposed to be ready.

Roadmap 1.
NL goes to testing, they concentrate on that for as long as it takes. Perm shards get a couple of Dynamic events.
Roadmap 2.
NL does not make it to testing, it is delayed. They keep working on that. Perm shards get a couple of Dynamic events.

It's a discussion that usually takes some back and forth in communication instead of just yelling out into the void and declaring yourself the winner of the topic. While I think Pawain is an apologist and obtuse, it doesn't mean that I'm not interested in hearing their position on the issue.Grimbeard said:Now you've stated your opinion twice let's let others state theirs

I am not defending them. I am smart enough to see they do not answer things that do not affect logging into the game. Or accessing your account Can we still log in and access our accounts. Yes.
Keep me out of your posts and I won't reply. You could not stop trolling for 20 mins. How long before you post again with nothing related to the topic? 10 mins?

I'm actually curious. Has there been a time where change or anything came from people posting in the forums? Or is this just really a place for all UOer's to vent a little bit?Grimbeard said:This thread is exactly what Mesanna likes us fighting with each other rather than all holding her accountable

If not, then where do we voice our concerns for this game where we can get an actual response? It's gotten to the point where even r/ultimaonline doesn't even think Broadsword's UO is even a contender compared to some of the other UO offerings.
You get an actual response by exercising the true power we have as subscribers and unsubscribe your account. That's what kills me about most of the complains on this forum and the endless pages of nonsense about "accountability." You can't hold them accountable by non-stop complaining while still paying for the product.MacroPlanet said:If not, then where do we voice our concerns for this game where we can get an actual response?

I think the team is well aware that every single person complaining on these forums are a paid subscriber. You cannot post here otherwise. And so for as mad as these people seem to be all the time, they're still paying for the privilege of being mad.
The game is obviously still meeting whatever metric EA cares about, whether its a set amount of money brought in every month, a set number of minimum subscribers, a set number of use per active account, or some combination there in.
With that in mind, how mad are these people here? Are they *mad* enough to unsubscribe and let their houses fall? Mad enough to walk away and let their accounts no longer accrue subscription time for vet rewards? Mad enough to actually do the one thing that could make change in the game?
Or do they just want to complain?
This is a service we pay for. If I didn't like the service I was receiving, quitting would certainly fix my problem.Grimbeard said:Quitting doesn't fix the problem
Many of us have invested 20+ years of our lives not just the subscription fees but our hearts and souls we have literally lived loved and lost in game we should walk away and let the dark lady win? This 'dark lady' stuff is nonsense. Bonnie Armstrong is a person employed to produce a product. You can disagree with her direction but don't frame your issues with the game in such personal terms. You and Broadsword operate under a financial agreement. There are no "winners" and "losers" here. You either continue to pay for the product or you don't.Grimbeard said:Many of us have invested 20+ years of our lives not just the subscription fees but our hearts and souls we have literally lived loved and lost in game we should walk away and let the dark lady win? Further more.. the game is going to close one day. Your 20+ years won't matter for anything when the login servers are shut off. The only thing you can hold onto when the game closes is the relationships with people you forge and the memories you choose to prioritize. Both of these things have absolutely nothing to do with how you may feel about Bonnie Armstrong.
LMAO "Mesanna" is NOT a developer she is a Producer at Broadsword Online Games. Some bosses throw employees under the bus, I have never seen her blame the actual developers or coders for the things people complain about in UO. Glad that has not been her approach.Lord_Frodo said:LMAO "Mesanna" is NOT a developer she is a Producer at Broadsword Online Games. Huge difference but you would not know that.

See it's a pattern someone ask a question the developers should answer of course if the developers responded well we will never know because they ignore THEN it goes off the railsRocko said:OP inquired about the next newsletter. You among others turned it into a bug discussion and an inquisition into Mesanna.

You've hit the nail on the head with your observation about the frustrating pattern of communication (or lack thereof) from Broadsword. It's disheartening when players have genuine questions or concerns, but the developers remain silent, leaving us in the dark.
It's understandable that Broadsword have a lot on their plate, but taking a moment to acknowledge and respond to player inquiries goes a long way in fostering a positive and engaged community. When developers choose to ignore these concerns, it creates a breeding ground for disgruntlement and frustration.
Players begin to feel like their voices don't matter, their concerns are insignificant, and their investment in the game is unappreciated. This can lead to a growing sense of disillusionment, causing some players to lose interest and move on to other games.
Friendly communication is key to building trust and keeping players engaged. Developers need to recognize the importance of transparency and actively address player questions and concerns. Even if they don't have all the answers or cannot fulfill every request, a simple acknowledgement can make a world of difference.
A little communication goes a long way in fostering a healthy and thriving community. I just wish Broadsword would understand this. They know about this too, because in a couple of their stream for the NL announcements they mention to keep things civil.
If this is what you truly believe, and that all of your posts in regards to developer/producer communication with the customer has proven fruitless, then you should try another approach.Grimbeard said:See it's a pattern someone ask a question the developers should answer of course if the developers responded well we will never know because they ignore THEN it goes off the railsRocko said:OP inquired about the next newsletter.
