"Some players' spell casting text is defaulted to dark gray making very very difficult for people to read and almost all have this color, I am registered blind and it's not problem of UO but is there anything they can do to even change the default text color, as very very hard to read i'm sure even for able bodied persons.

There is setting in uoassist for me but it only affects non magery spells"

#1
Don't know how to change colors like we all do?
#2
"oh, how have you set color for other person's spell?
thanks

i thought i could only set my own"
#3
Sorry video too tiny to see which one.  Since you are so good  it seems you welcome a challenge.

Or stop playing with cheaters and you would never know that info, like 95% of the other players.

“I am just guessing actually because before I thought it was someone doing it purpose because they know I have vision problem but now it’s everyone so I am assuming it’s a default setting and not deliberately done just to exploit my disability”

But now that you know you report them all?

“People can have whatever Color text they want.
but I’m sure they didn’t choose this Color so won’t care if it gets changed.
im not even sure it displays this Color to them anyway so they prob won’t even know if it gets changed to something clearer”

So you're saying you're never going to actually page on any of the cheaters just come here and complain while repeatedly violating the TOS?
#8
Just guessing:

Is this a color that you could choose or do they have a better pallet? If it's not a normal UO color you could ID who is using that client to better page on them.
#9
“I think it’s a normal uo Color (but I think they see it as a clearer color or else they wouldn’t leave it so) because they have to read too so for them it’s I think legible color”
#10
Default speech color in CC is yellow, this is the color seen by both the person speaking/casting and everyone else, however it can be edited
#11
“okay they are not using CC though, i will contact their client dev with request for something that is not affecting them but affecting CC users.

Someone makes my text difficult to read without affecting their text,
seems like something i should be able to control on my side rather than someone else"
#12
If people are using dark grey like in the pic, that color is an option that is available in CC (you can see it in Mariah's pic). To my knowledge, you cannot change someone else's font color for your own viewing preference.
#13
"it's uo color yes, but pfff i am the person with the problem with the eyes, and someone else is choosing the colors for my PC okay.. when they see it nice clear color on their pc.

Doesn't seem right to me, but i am bias as it's me with problem with vision.

Can i come decorate your house?"

Why are you using a 3rd party client?

Better question is why are the MODs helping him trouble a 3rd party client and why is this thread even allowed.
#16
Screenshot does not show any problem, it only shows how words of power are intended to work in conjunction with a player's selected speech color.

What next? The sky is blue so the grass should be blue as well?

Also, get glasses you two eyed dork.
#17
"But why someone is able to set my txt color when it don't affect them?
(pictured is default EC UI. because everyone getting upset about third party client.)

Just seems wrong to me, i should be able to choose color i see since its me with vision problem, not third person choosing my color, when they see it clear green and it don't affect them.

I can't change their color so why they can change mine?"

#18
Screenshot does not show any problem, it only shows how words of power are intended to work in conjunction with a player's selected speech color, and/or the EC related spell color functions.

Everything is working as intended.
#19
"I'm not aking for special treatment to do something for my vision, it's my problem,  just requesting not to allow people to kick my white stick and throw it in the traffic and ask me to fetch"
#20
Sounds like you should use the EC, as it already does exactly what you are asking.
#21
"I guess a lot of people love to use EC"

#22
You're showing someone casting two mini heals? Not sure what your argument here is.

Or are you complaining that someone is using a feature of the game that has existed since the game was launched to intentionally make it more difficult to see their spells? People have been doing that forever.
#23
"glad you can see it, more than me"
#24
You were clearly able to see it well enough to know when to stop and take a screenshot of it.

LMAO  How the ****()% did you take a picture of it if you can not see it?
#26
"wow make fun of poeple's disability nice people"
#27
Okay, Karen.
#28
You say you are blind but yet you PvP with no problem which I find hard to believe.  So are you blind or are you color blind because there is a huge difference.

Mervyn has always been whatever is most convenient to get what he wants.
#30
"lol how it going to make a difference to you what color the text is on my screen? when what i see don't affect you
you're complaining that you should maintain control of my text colors so i see grey even though to you it is not grey, and i'm karen?"
#31
"I tell you what,
I will pretend i found a solution and it's clear color to me now,
you will never know"
#32
No, I don't take issue with your suggestion. I take issue with the way in which you consistently present your suggestions, by constantly painting yourself as some helpless and neglected victim who should have their every whim catered to.

The adult minded way of presenting this suggestion would have been something a long the lines of: "The EC allows users to define the color of a spell's words of power based on the type of spell being cast (Beneficial/Harmful/Neutral) and I think that it could be beneficial for players to have that same option in the CC. My eyes aren't what they used to be two decades ago when I started playing, and I know that I cannot be the only person in that boat."

#33
"how is that any different to my first post?"

AMEN.

Yoshi said:

It's different because your approach was, like always, an outright attempt to immaturely paint yourself a victim of "third party clients".
#36
"It's not people doing it on purpose like you say, people don't care what color it is because they don't even see it that color, it's just default setting of third party client, unintended i am sure.

If i said, people are choosing grey color, then that is their choice and who am i to decide what color they choose?

but they don't see what i see, and they don't choose even, they don't know even what color it is displaying for broadsword client users unless they dig deep in their settings to look"
#37
I have my doubts about that, as I've fought plenty of people while on UOA who utilize third party clients and have never had the issue of their words of power being any different than the hue of their speech. Or at least not since the old days of recording a macro on UOA to create multicolored words.
#38
So if this is a problem with people using ILLEAGLE 3rd party clients then what do you propose UO do about it, call them up and threaten them.  How is it you are in a guild that every body but you uses illegal programs and you come on here and complain about them, why don't you just ask all your guild mates to change their colors so you can see them.  Really how is this UOs problem when it is all your cheating friends that are doing it to you.

“I have script now to fix problem it’s okay”
#40
So are you admitting that you are using an illegal 3rd party script to fix your problem.

I also want to see it. Half the population of LS  can't see some colors. How do they fix this? @Yoshi
#44
“Lol you say there is no problem,
I say I have fixed my accessibility issue using illegal means and now you’re complaining?? when there was no problem??
Just goes to prove that whatever I post you would troll.
(I guess then I can also stretch to use illegal means to add cool-down timer for attunement and debuff for nerve strike, since they are apparently not bugs and also not an issue that needs to be addressed according to posters on this forum, how you going to have a problem with it when you say it's not issue in first place??)”

"you're saying i am portraying myself as a victim of third party clients.
You think i can't click on download button and install myself?
you don't need a password for it..."
#46
If you cannot see someone else's text because you have a diagnosed medical condition, request Broadsword's assistance.
#47
"actually, i am not sure what is going on,
for some people, the uoassist option does change the text color, even magery spells, but not for others, i will try and diagnose the issue"
#48
This is not a medical issue?  If it is not a medical issue then you will have to figure it out yourself.  Sorry, I may have misunderstood.

Sorry I presumed you are not a cheater, I was wrong.

But if you find a legal way to change other peoples text while talking color, a lot of players on LS would like to use that.  I am at fault for some of it, I like to use colors on my chat.

“For overhead chat, there’s a uoassist setting to change all chat to a clear Color.
it’s just not working for Magery spells which ironically is the only overhead chat I am interested in reading from some people”

Cool Thanks.  Many of them use UO Assist. LS is apparently the shard for medical conditions.

I have heard, afk a min, Nurse has to give me my injections.
