Just wanted to see what everyone else has been doing now that is has been a week since the event officially ended. I started doing other stuff probably mid treasures event due to my overall disappointment with how it ended up so just wanted to see how others were passing the time to see if maybe I've overlooked something to do.
Providing a poll of things I've kind of done over the past month or so but also giving an "other" option for something I might have missed. I'm sure people have done more than one so when you vote just pick the option that has taken the most of your time (ie best fit)
Playing less but when I do...Some resource gathering (need feathers and arrows), a bit of treasure hunting, a little decorating, probably going to do some pirate hunting soon.
I don't have time to play a lot weekly and it takes a lot to retain my attention so i put other. I have 6 hours in this event at best.
I do little things that bring me consistent gold and building a goodie bag when i finally get shard shields.
I've really been thinking about starting completely new on another shard and working my way up.
I always start my day with trying to clean my houses.
but then i get easily distracted.
example: I came across snake charmer flutes
so I went down into the Abyss to try to get Medusa eggs.
when I went to put up that stuff I needed to pull out my crafter
so she could put that stuff away.
And since I was on her, I remembered that I hadn't checked my stumps and sheep.
I put that stuff away. And then had to take my miner to collect my ore from the ore cart.
then I decided to go back to trying to clean house.
I came across a SOS and decided to stop cleaning house
and go fish up the part I needed for zipy.
then realized I had about 100 MIBs, so I opened them.
I got about 5 of them, so I went out to get the white nets they provide.
(now about 100 SOS later, I finally drydocked my ship)
next time, I might try to clean house
but usually when I start to do that
I just switch to doing BODs
=======
when I pay attention to the time
I go to guild events
last event I attended was shadowguard
Restocking vendors and shopping.
Then some of the hundreds of other things that you can do in UO.
Collecting Pixie Lanterns!!!!
One per acct per shard....
CUTE GRAPHIC!!
Thanks Team!!!
Awesome! Thanks, Larisa and Pawain. :-)
I’ve mainly been using my scribe. Making spellbooks, filling them, putting them on a vendor. I don’t really need the gold but I find it rewarding to make things that people actually buy.
The new lanterns are great. Thanks for the tip. Many times the messages do not show up during the patch prior to sign in, so I miss notices like this. As for what I have been doing, Thieving through all the different spawn locations.

I would like to work on Bulk Order deeds also to reduce my stock of BODs...
But then, I think about the issues related to having to continuously move resources in and out of my backpack, to have to fill crafted items in the BODs 1 at a time and I get deterred and abandon the idea....
I wished, that there was a Working Station available whereas one could lock it down and it could store unlimited amount of resources as all locked down containers can do BUT, this one Working Station special container, the crafter could use the tools in one's own backpack on the unlimited resources that the Working Station can store and, the BOD in one's own backpack would automatically detect the crafted item and, if matching with what the BOD needs, it would automatically be filled into the BOD without the crafter having to do it 1 item at a time...
This way, filling BODs would be way more player friendly and way less annoying...
Just set the tool to craft X items using the Working Station stored resources, and watch the BODs in one's own bacpack self-fill without needing to do anything else...
A dream come true and a much more player friendly BOD filling.....
Hoping the cap on doubloons will be raised and black market will get new items
Finishing a couple of characters and reducing inventory. Created a character on Atlantic just to see what things sell for there and to look around. May explore a few other shards. Maybe do a few treasure chests on my home shard.
Thanks have an extra now.
I log on once every 10-12days to refresh boats, log out, then go play Elden Ring, Warframe, Battlefield, or whatever new high rated game has come out. Occasionally I try whatever new free ps+ downloads available.
I lack the technical skills required to create, modify, or run all the 3rd party scripts and 3rd party clients needed for competitive play nowadays.
**Sarcasm there... I have the skills however imho any game you have to cheat to play isn't worth playing. I keep my account active in hopes of a brighter future.
For what it's worth; with 24 votes right now the highest percentage chosen is "play UO less" at 37.5% which is at least 20% higher than the next highest choice. It looks like I am not alone.
Hopefully more content is on the way soon before people start to find other things to do outside of UO. I know that's why I stopped playing for about a year way back because Xbox came out with Call of Duty and I bought it because UO was getting a bit stale; it was more fun playing CoD than UO so after a few weeks I stopped logging into UO and played CoD for a year or so (eventually getting bored of that).
The risk vs reward factor just is not there. And, I now don’t see a lot of the players I used to see a couple of years ago. And, the inflation has gotten so out of control if you don’t have a house and a vendor to sell the drops and rewards you get, you can’t get enough gold to buy any thing. I am playing less too. Yes there is a lot to do agree with that but am losing interest in doing it. Sorry.
It’s the summer. I’m glad we’ve got a lull in content for a bit so people can enjoy themselves away from the computer.
To clarify we have not had actual new content since eodon everything we've gotten is recycled with shiny new pixel crack. the whole point of the new of systems was easy deployment so they could give us things to do while they focus on NL
I am spending more time in this forum than actual playing the game.
Well, I didn't have any archers before the event that I played regularly, so I am doing more things with them and seeing how they fit in my world of UO. Fun fact: they can do everything lol...So I have spent some imbuing resources making sure they all have full sets of slayers and high end gear to crush whatever content I decide to use them in...but mainly for future events because Sarkon loves slayer talismans that don't come from the roof.
After all these years, playing off and on, I finally settled into the Test shard to see what I can do besides design a castle or keep for the contests. So far I am actually enjoying it and can see how valuable it is. Right now I have been going to work testing a lot of what I have been reading about on the thread about Enhancing, and reforging and Imbuing in general. I can see this would have saved a great deal of time and effort had I came here a long time ago.
Test Center is Awesome. I have skilled new pets to 120 skills in between the time they are on TC and released worldwide to test them in advance.
Done lots of crafting. Figured out many game mechanics.
Example. Battle chicken lizard stats are determined when the egg is opened, you cant take eggs to TC to see the stats in advance. Same with Triton Statues.
Update from me on what I've been doing... most things related to UO unfortunately have not been in game but rather the forums.
I did do a Piper and Rikktor spawn this week out of boredom. My thought was to chain a few spawns in the AM but I stopped after the first spawn and they ended up being done on separate days because I became bored with the killing the first few levels of spawn.
I think my new thing will be to do one different spawn each day until I have a set of skulls. I've solo'ed everything already except Oaks. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too hard given the new Fey tali. Anyone have any pointers on how to be the most efficient at doing that spawn (most other spawns take me around 30min)?
The next phase of the game is not about nostalgia. It should be designed to connect the oldies to the young. The 3% who is left in the game shall guide the 97% new players that will once again full up all the shards and free housing land shall be scarce again.
They need to upgrade the game to attract new and young players, while keeping us, the ancient ones, around to guide the young.
They should finish up NLS quickly and then focus on a completely revamped game that can go viral quickly... NOT to please the pathetic few of us left but to ATTRACT NEW AND YOUNG PLAYERS!!!!!!
Yes been awhile. But remember you don’t have to kill everything when doing Oaks. You don’t lose karma if you don’t kill the right things that don’t attack you if you leave them alone but have forgotten which things not to kill. Think you lose karma on Oaks though but not on the other things that attack you. Fey slayer works wonders for my mage.
Not super worried about the karma loss - I use my sampire to kill most things so I feel like I could work back the lost karma pretty quickly. If by killing everything I will be able to complete it in 30min I'd do that over picking things to kill and it taking an hour.
I farmed Miasma to bring my fame back up. Took a break. Then started doing t-maps.
If they are still too busy NLSing, then they should make the final 2022 event a real blast... say put all the Mondain, High Seas, Doom, Abyss, Shadowguard etc new bosses inside one dungeon or city, enable all leeches, all non shard bound, and let us have a really good time killing all the bosses together at one go... wow the best dynamic event ever.
And a new 7-in-1 slayer cameo Talisman as a rare drop.
I have been working Sacrifice on demons. I only recently learned the connection to resurrecting self by watching Rabid Sniper's sampire tutorial on Youtube.
